What is everyone getting their kiddos for the holidays?
For your partners?
Any other cool gifts you found that you're excited about?
Do I have to get gifts for J's daycare teachers? If so, what?
Let's share our holiday gift ideas!

We are trying to cut back on gifts this year. I have no idea what to get J and I know that the rest of the family will ask for ideas. What does a 7 MO want? I also have NO idea what to get H. I think I'm getting a NIX frame for my parents, which I'm excited about because they are hard to shop for. A Lost My Name book for 2 YO nephew. Maybe this Grimm's beads for 6 MO niece?

We're again enjoying that she doesn't understand presents yet. She has one gift from us that I got from leftover gift cards - it's a music playmat as she loves songs and to dance. Linky: m.toysrus.com/product?productId=90055646

piratecat - a 7 month old wants nothing as they have no idea they should want something. Or clothes. I'm a mean mom. Lol.

Does he need anything though? Besides a convertible car seat? Or are there cool toys that he would like at that age? I'm a cheap mom and only buy clothes at the consignment store.

My kids are spoiled. Oops...
DS1 will be less than a month from his 3rd birthday. He’s getting Tegu blocks as his “big” gift, a Jaq Jaq bird chalk book, a bigger Saranoni blanket, and some wooden trains. He’s got a couple other odds and ends thrown in
DS2 will be 8 months. He is getting the full baby university set, two sippy cups, and a couple grabby type toys. He’s also getting a couple Tula blankets.
DH has asked for a new razor.
Parents all get some form of alcohol and the kids will be given them homemade drink coasters

For daycare, I grab one or two items for the target gift section. I do the main teachers. One year I did chocolates and one was hot cocoa. I also got a small gift from DS1 to give to his best friend at daycare, but that’s because we hang out with them outside of daycare as well.

SD (11) is getting a phone. We get to split the cost with her mom, at least. She's also getting some new swim gear like a Speedo backpack.
DS will probably get something small in his stocking, but he doesn't need anything. Everyone keeps asking, so I'm just telling them books. Kid has a full wardrobe already.
No clue for DH. He's a hipster with his coffee, so maybe a new pour over or French press?

Oh also, when I was thinking of gifts for V I tried to think of anything she would want/need before her first birthday which is the next time she’ll get gifts so some of the things on her list we will save until she is more ready for them.

piratecat We got my mom a NixPlay wifi frame for her bday and she LOVES it! So easy to load new photos online and then they automatically go to her frame. We have two more frames ready for the ILs and my grandmother for holiday gifts. And I have one on my wishlist too!

I'm getting DS (he will be 10 months by xmas) one main gift from Santa - Zany Zoo activity cube. He is out growing his excersaucer since he wants to be on the move now. Then his stocking will have 2 small instruments from his musical class. His favorite ones -wrist jingle bells and rhythm sticks. I got matching (not identical) family pajamas for us to open on Christmas Eve. My DH and I are not exchanging birthday or Christmas gift as we need a new couch asap. So that will be our present to each other in the new year. Our couch is literally falling apart- duck tape is helping keep the rips contained. I can't wait for a new one. For grandparents ( my mom and dad) I'm going to do a nice (cheapest I can find) photo book of ds' newborn pictures and add in pictures of them with ds. Eta I'm hosting Christmas dinner for my family and we are doing a secret Santa gift exchange so I only need to buy one gift. I wish my H's family did that too. On his side we buy for 4 kids plus his parents plus his brother and sister. So much money. We still limit gifts to $25-30 each but it adds up.

It would be perfect for his grandmother but she doesn't have internet...

cmb, what is the baby university set? mikaela20, oh I should look for something like that. It would be good to have something to keep him busy sitting on his own for a little while. We are also trying to cut back on Christmas with H's family because they tend to go a little crazy. We've floated different ideas but we'll see how it works out. DNW a million things for J or us.

piratecat that's what I'm hoping it will do. He is always trying to stand to play with the toys on the excersaucer but he hates being put in it for long.

Im getting my parents the Nixplay frame. Which is great because they're headed to the DR for 3 months shortly so I can just send pics to it. DH is getting a signed photo of his fav hockey player, shaving stuff and possibly a nice sweater and underwear. X(5) is getting a hockey jersey, Lego and some new books. He's also getting matching socks with DH. For the twins (7months) we're getting some new bowls and plates, bath toys, and walkers: m.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=69140256And m.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=20802436

So glad to get some ideas from this thread. I'm fascinated by the Baby University stuff 😂
DH and I haven't done gifts since we got married. We each just buy an ornament for the other.
For DS, we're going to ask for contributions to his 529 plan to try to cut down on all the...stuff. People will still buy him clothes and toys, but I'm hoping to avoid an avalanche of baby clutter. Maybe I should put together a small list of ideas so that anyone who wants to buy him something can just go off of that. I still need to get a stocking for him 😳
DSD (11) wants a new phone. She has one that's a few years old so that she can keep in touch with her mom and family out of state. We haven't decided yet if she'll get a new one. She's so #firstworldproblems right now and complains about it being slow.

DS1 is getting books (which he doesn't need because we have so many but I love them), dinosaur toys, helicopter toys, a Thomas track, and a play rug. Stocking stuffers too but I haven't gotten any yet. Oh, I also got him a Kindle on Prime Day that I still need to set up.
DS2 is only going to be ~7 months so he's getting the illustrated copy of the first Harry Potter. Lord knows we have plenty of baby toys and this will be something special for when he's older. He doesn't know the difference anyway.
No idea about DH, he's hard to shop for and we agreed to do smaller gifts since we've had the boys.
