Ugh, so sounds like my kid is right on track for his age. And we put him in time out for not eating his food so I’m sure we only made it worse. On another note, Evie is 18 months and will happily eat anything we put in front of her lol. We've been making M eat so many bites of food at dinner. After our dr's appt Friday with the gastroenterologist, it made me fell horrible. Ugh, I bet but don’t beat yourself up over it. I hope you get some answers soon.

I ran out to the refrigerator in our barn yesterday to get the ricotta and mozzarella for the penne. And the amazon delivery guy was in the drive way. I waited to get the packages from him and when he saw all the cheese he got excited "ohhh you making lasagna?" I was half temped to invite him for dinner but thought I'd scare him lol.

flamingo or anyone else familiar with Florida- We want to take a winter trip with the kids and are looking at Florida. We want something on the water and as warm as possible for January/February. Any recommendations? I'd prefer somewhere we can rent a condo type unit vs a standard hotel room so we can put the kids to bed at night and have a living room to hang out in. Zero depth entry pool or calm beach is important because I can picture the kids playing there most of the day. We want it to be super low key and don't need a lot of activities.

Anyone else dealing with the driest skin and lips? The worst!! Yes. My lips are a mess after being outside all day Saturday. I need to get the kids lotioned up, they both are alligators.

Speaking of that, I'm interested to see how this week goes at my sister's house. I think I mentioned before that my BIL & nephew have switched to a vegan diet because of their health issues. I'm wondering how she feeds everyone dinner. I know some nights they eat the same thing depending on the recipe but that has to be a pain in the ass for my sister. I'm hoping to make her some freezer meals while I'm there. You seem like the best guest. You love copious amounts of wine and always seem to make freezer meals!

Can y'all give me some recs on tunics and/or tops that come down long enough in the front & back. My sister was complaining that she doesn't have any clothes and she won't spend money on herself since Christmas is coming up, etc. I though I could buy her a couple of things.
Nothing too expensive, please.

You'll definitely want to go pretty far south...even north/central florida get cold (relatively speaking) in the winter and ocean is too cold for swimming. If you're open to the Keys, check out Hawks Cay resort...it is AMAZING for families. Self-contained and super kid-friendly. There are separate kid/family pools (one even has this great pirate ship-themed splash pad), tons of dining options, and a variety of accommodations. My very favorite spot in FL is Sanibel - Captiva islands, off the coast of Ft. Myers. Generally, I prefer the Gulf coast for beaches--they're beautiful, pristine, and water is more calm b/c it's more protected. We stay at Tween Waters Inn on Captiva--also very family friendly and they have some great condo-style set-ups (one, two or 3 bedroom with living room/kitchenette). Breakfast is included and they have a couple restaurants on property, as well as a free shuttle that will take you to various restaurants elsewhere on the island. Manatees swim right up to the bay front and you can feed them lettuce, Bradley loves it. They do offer kayak and bike rentals and fishing charters, if you feel inclined, and there are 2 pools (one has a kiddie pool), and a day spa.

Also, Loft is doing 40% off right now (with an additional 10% off sweaters if you're a cardholder) and they have some very cute things. My sister got this one, in particular, recently and loves it. www.loft.com/slit-tunic-tee/449533?skuId=23887046&defaultColor=8994&colorExplode=false&catid=catl000011 Can't beat that price with the sale!

Thanks, flamingo! So helpful! I had looked at Hawks Cay previously but it looks like they are still closed due to Irma with no definite opening date. I was looking at a few places in Key Largo, there didn't seem to be as much damage there. I was also just looking at Sanibel-Captiva this morning so I'll look into Tween Waters too. I want to get something booked before DH changes his mind!

I️ forgot to tell you guys about the funny thing that happened to me last week. So this woman corners me at the gym while I’m lifting weights and starts asking me questions about the baby (when I’m due, boy or girl, etc) whatever, happens a lot these days so I️ try to politely answer her and get back to my workout. Well then she starts asking if I’m playing music for the baby and making sure to talk to it. Um, ok, yes the baby hears my voice and I’m sure it hears the music I️ play. THEN she asks if I’m doing flash cards with the baby!!! WTF?? I️ was like “flash cards? Wut?” She proceeded to tell me I️ needed to be doing flash cards with my stomach, reading them outloud so the baby could hear it and then actually putting the card on my stomach so the baby could “absorb” the information. I️ kind of laughed and she got kind of intense telling me research out of Sweden proved that this would make the baby be born smarter. My face was all: media0.giphy.com/media/kqvyMj8usOyas/giphy.gif[/IMG]
