Ok if you are a Democrat starting a statement with "on behalf of all heterosexual males" and it is NOT an apology, you should probably be giving yourself a hard look in the mirror.

Matt Yglesias has a really good piece in Vox also saying Clinton should have resigned. I kind of agree.

It's good for entrepreneurs, guise. My cousin's husband just posted on my mom's wall that it would be worth the tax increases if we all get higher wages out of it. Idiocracy is now.

I’m so glad there are 3 other women and possibly Richard Cordray running on the Dem ticket for governor because O’Neill won’t fly for me. Nope. Not going to happen.

Matt Yglesias has a really good piece in Vox also saying Clinton should have resigned. I kind of agree. My feelings on this: Clinton's history of sexual assault, harassment and abusing his position if power is appalling and disgusting and NO, he probably should never have held office. However, I also feel like he hasn't held office in 17 years and I'm a little and not sure why a president from nearly 2 decades ago is the central focus of this discussion or how Yglesias managed to write this entire article about Clinton and mentioned multiple other current scandals but didn't discuss the fact that the current sitting president has had numerous sexual assault allegations against him, including his hot mic where he openly brags about sexually assaulting women. I'm not looking for a political tit for tat, I'm not interested in defending Clinton, but I find it sort of bizarre how we continually find ways to re-situate and re-focus current scandals around the Clintons. I don’t think the discussion should be entirely focused on Clinton, but I think that Dems recognizing that, less than a generation ago, the party enthusiastically campaigned for and elected and then continued to defend Bill Clinton, is important. And, there’s no getting around that he and HRC are linked. On the one hand, it’s not fair to punish her for his crimes, but on the other, we (Dems) were actively campaigning to elect HRC and by extension have him, someone very plausibly accused of rape, return to the whitehouse, where’d he’d be again given a platform and a staff and take on diplomatic duties. I mean, I was certainly a part of that too. And it *was* the better option. But how did we allow for it to come to that? I really believe that the election of Bill Clinton helped to contribute to the culture that we’re presently living in. It helped to set a precedent that harassment and assault are not deal breakers for being elected to our highest office, that a political agenda was more important than that. What did it say to adolescent girls that feminist icons like Gloria Steinem and Betty Friedan defended Clinton, and basically dismissed any of his accusers and Monika Lewinsky as sluts who came on to him. I can tell you that definitely had an impact on me. ETA: I think also, I’m in the camp of not holding out much hope that Republicans will have a reckoning with themselves. We all know 45 is heinous. But we’re at a point where it’s beyond removing the bad apples. There is a systemic and cultural problem. And I think it’s worth it for Dems to look at how we’ve contributed to that if we’re going to figure out how to fix it.

Come on. We know why everything goes back to the Clintons. They are the proxies by which the GOP attempts to discredit every Democrat politician. See also, the Obamas. But I didn't get the feeling that Yglesias' was doing that. To me, he was writing about what Bill did, and the consequences that should have ensued (hindsight being 20/20).

There also has been a HUGE cultural shift since Bill was in office. I'm not defending his actions at all but he no longer holds public office I agree if he were in the White House currently it would be problematic. But it's been a pretty open secret that most potus cheat. Are we going back to the Kennedys and Marilyn?
I think what is important now today is to focus on the offenders that are in office and keep them accountable. Victims are being heard and more importantly believed. We need this shift and momentum to continue. We need people to come forward and identify offenders prior to them being elected.
