Our CEO finally called all the office staff into the conference room to tell us what's going on. His story doesn't quite match my bosses (picture rainbows and unicorns, how much better things will be). I'm pretty disappointed, especially since the 3 people who had been in the conference room before us, all looked like they had been crying before we were called in. But yet, it was an upbeat conversation. Uh, no, I'm not drinking your Kool Aid, unless there is vodka in it. One of the girls who works in customer service (the other teletubby from Halloween) has been really frustrated with everything and pretty vocal about it. She told HR this morning that her old company has been contacting her regularly about coming back to work for them (she can start at any time). When the meeting ended, they asked her to stay behind. I'm dying to know what they're telling her! I already texted her and asked her to go to lunch. I can't wait to hear what she says. I'll drink kool aid if there's vodka in it, too. We're handing out vodka Kool-Aid? I'm in.

I have my follow up at the OB today. Workman's comp called to say they will pay for all expenses related to me but not the baby. How the heck do you separate us at this point? I asked about the ultrasound and they said they will pay that. Now if I wasn't pregnant, there would not have been an ultrasound or for that matter, any hospital visit. That’s what the Workman’s Comp people told me too. Basically they said they will pay for everything that’s related to the injury I️ sustained but they wouldn’t pay for my labor and delivery charges. I️ didn’t expect that to happen anyway so it worked out. I’m surprised your OB released you back to work though. Mine said she was going to keep me on bed rest at home because she didn’t want it to happen again. I’m thankful it didn’t get to that point because I️ wouldn’t want some claims adjuster spying on me to make sure I️ was just sitting at home not doing anything lol. I'm not back at work yet because this week happened to be fall break. Waiting at OB now to see what she says. I'm suppose to have 8 days left.

Daycare called cause L has a fever. MH went to get her while I finished a couple things and could get home. He picked up both kids, why!?!?!?!? Men are so dumb. I was soooo annoyed. He didn't it.

I was soooo annoyed. He didn't it. LOL. MH is the opposite. A few weeks ago we got a call that B was sick. At 3:45. MH was working from home so I called him to pick up. He picked up at 4 and didn't get S, so I had to run back over there an hour later to get him. I agree it was stupid to p/u the healthy child when it is still morning time... but 1 hour before pick up didn't make any sense!

In MH's defense, the kids do have dr appointments around 1. I would have had a few hours with just L though first!

ETA: never mind, I found it. primary.com

Do any of your N13s (or older sibs) have any sort of LeapFrog/LeapPad product? I was debating getting one for S for his birthday, but I'm not sure it is necessary w/ all the apps on the ipad he can use.
I have mentioned that I am not thrilled with the academics at his Day Care, so my thought on this is something to supplement school for reading readiness/math readiness, etc. But again, not sure if it would just be redundant to the ipad.
What does N13 think??

Morning, I'd do muffins or croissants, maybe have some fruit on hand. For afternoon, you could do regular or baked brie with crackers (I have a yummy and easy recipe if you need it), pita chips and hummus or even just chips and salsa. I also usually offer wine at play dates, ha.

I've tried using the honey app and it just finds the exact same ones as me.

jewels I am probably in the minority on this but I don't do much for our kids with technology for various reasons. Like, B uses the iPad on long car trips and that's it. So personally I wouldn't be real keen on adding more. I think if anything, you could look for flashcards, inexpensive workbooks, things that you could do WITH him. I know, easier said than done, but that is what I would do We do a few things like that with B and he loves it. eta: I hope that doesn't sound judge-y--that is just what works for our family. Like I said, I'm in the minority and #oldschool

I am also guilty of attempting to do the most when we entertain. Most of it is b/c I genuinely enjoy it, but I always have a strong perfectionist streak that is tough to kill. I type this as I’m out searching for Caspari-brand cocktail napkins and plates and mercury glass votive holders for Thanksgiving. 🙄 Dito. Hence the reason I made banners, wooden figurines for on the cake, went to Ikea for the food... Five years ago I bought 20 different vintage plates, antique cutlery, lace to put over white tablecloths, burlap and mason jars because I wanted to host a vintage style dinner 🙄🙄🙄. I had you 2 in mind when I said, unless you enjoy it. And don't do it to try and keep up with what everyone else is doing. I know you truly do. I just know that so many of the rest of us struggle and do more because we are trying to keep up wihtthe pinterest version of our lives.

What age is Mr. Bucket for? Cadence keeps seeing it on tv and freaking out over it. I feel like it might be too young for her....

Yep, that's where I found ours! I also think even basic playing can enhance learning. For ex, B has "Paw Patrol" themed playing cards. He learns a lot from us playing those card games with him...number order, matching, etc.

We had the iPad for the car ride last week, but he was perfectly content being a backseat driver, so never broke it out.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for J! We started off the day with her 1 year Dr appt, headed to library class soon. We’ll have some family over for dinner and cake later. B had a field trip at daycare so he’ll join us later.
I just finished B’s cake last night and niw a new one enters the house. Great idea to have babies 6 days apart 😉
