I am thankful to have my summers off. Lately both children have been very challenging (potty training, 3 year old attitude) and I sometimes think to myself that I wouldn't mind being at work. I know not everyone is as lucky as I am, so I'm trying my hardest to soak in these precious moments and not let the little stuff bother me.

I'm thankful for this thread! What a nice start to my day.
Also a nice start was finding the hotel breakfast room full of Coast Guard. 😉
I'm thankful for my sweet, goofy boy. He's the love of my life. I can't wait to get home and give him a big hug!

This is a great idea! I had a crappy start to the day and thinking about this helped me put it into perspective.
I'm thankful for family who is always willing to help us out when we need it. Even when my parents drive me crazy, I know they are always there and would do anything for my kids. And I'm so thankful for my kids who make me laugh every day and make it hard to take life too seriously.

I am thankful I had the opportunity to apply for a new university program. Finding time to work on the application as a SAHM to two small kids was challenging, finding the brain cells was even tougher, and having friends (from here!) willing to edit and critique my work was invaluable. I sent in my application last night and realized although I'll be disappointed if I don't get in, I feel really good about myself in a way I haven't in about 5 years. It had nothing to do with me as a parent and everything to do with me as a person and professional, and that was really rewarding to revisit.

I am thankful for SO. He has been doing a side job the last 2 months and we have barely seen him. I mostly complain about it since I have been solo parenting and all the house stuff has been falling on me. But he's making sure we have money to do everything we want for our wedding in October. He's the hardest worker I've ever met.
I'm thankful for my DD. She tests my patience at times but she has the best personality. She is such a sweetie, always caring for others. At 2 years old, she has very good manners and she makes me laugh every day.
Also thankful for my BMB. This has been a tough year and those girls have been my backbone when I couldn't hold it together myself. It's amazing how people you've not met become such a huge part of your life.

I love this idea. Today I'm thankful my dog is healthy. We had to take him to the emergency vet for lethargy and some weakness in his hind legs. They kept him overnight after he had a seizure but when I picked him up this morning and he was his normal happy self.
Also thankful for my children and their amazing bond. I was worried about the 5 year age difference and how well they would get along, but DS loves his sister to pieces and DD lights up when he walks in the room. Its so sweet to watch the way they interact and love on each other.

You guys just inspired me to text MH to tell him how great he is. I probably don't do that enough. Thanks, zimmerframe and all! Your post inspired me to text mine to say thanks for getting up with DS1 every morning. Thank you for the reminder.

honeylemon I don't know your story, but I am so sorry to hear about what you are going through right now. I'll keep you in my thoughts. Thank you. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer this past December. I finished chemo at the end of April and I have a double mastectomy next week. Chemo was physically difficult, but emotionally not so bad since I knew it was all temporary. The surgery is final and permanent so I'm having a much more difficult time accepting it. I am grateful that the nurse I saw today for my pre op was willing to sit with me and answer all of my questions. She and my plastic surgeon were both reassuring and encouraging and didn't make me feel rushed.

So far, I've enjoyed and am thankful for every bit of this lovely day. Started with yoga, had coffee and chat with the PTO, and then went to my kid's award ceremony and leisurely walked home (with coffee!). It's beautiful outside!

I'm thankful for my little family. H is the best teammate and partner I could ask for, and DD is so funny and sweet (when she's not practicing for her transition to threenager), and even our dog is just the sweetest thing, and when we're all together it makes me so happy.

I'm thankful for my parents and ILs. Both are so extremely supportive in every way and I genuinely love their company. The ILs visit this weekend and the following weekend I take DD up for a long weekend at my parents' (where the ILs will visit for a day) and I am so excited.

Oh, another positive! My plastic surgeon told me he'll do 2 rounds of lipo from my belly to help fill in my boobs and make them more smooth and even. So that's awesome.

I'm thankful for my SO and I have had some tough times financially and some unfortunate issues with his mom. He has stuck by my side during this time and supported me going out to my parents for a month to get decompress and improve my mental health. I know it's hard because he already misses DD so much.
I'm also thankful for my parents for purchasing our plane tickets and letting me stay her for a month. We decided to postpone our wedding until we get things under control with the future in laws and I'm thankful my parents are supportive of this decision considering they put money down for the venue. It's embarrassing but I'm happy hey understand.
This did make me feel better, thanks op for this thread!

Love this.
That things have worked out as we'd hoped for MH's job.
For all the help from family that live close by.
For the career opportunities presented to me.

I am thankful for my husband, who not only gets up early with the kids every single weekend so I can sleep in, but also booked me a spa day for this Saturday.

Oh and of course rhankful for H. I have been feeling so shitty for a solid 2+ months and he does not ever complain about picking up the slack. Patting myself on the back for picking such a good partner. Also so thankful for DD. 3 can be a challenge but she is truly the absolute sweetest child, and is so loving and caring. She gives me hair pats and cuddles with me while pretending she is a cat, which is taking care of me, too, just in a different way than H does.

I am thankful for you ladies. Even when I am having a crappy day, you always make me smile. When I'm having a boring day, you give me something enticing. When I'm having a good day, you enjoy it with me. The friends I've made here are like no others in my life.

I'm thankful for my in laws (all of that family), they have really embraced me and treated me like real family over the past 16 years, and I really lucked out....especially my MIL and FIL which are seriously a second set of true parents to me
I'm thankful for my H for sticking by my side through years of finishing this damn degree, solo parenting at least a couple nights per week without complaint while I was at class or needed to meet with a group or work on projects/homework
I'm thankful that I'm finally DONE with school
I'm thankful for the job I have and the boss I have because he has been beyond patient with me being a student and also allowing me the flexibility to work from home when my kids need me home (sickness, or while they were newborns/infants)
Despite the challenges we've faced with my DS over the past couple years, I am thankful that he is healthy, bright and has such a charismatic and funny personality...I can see him going places as he grows, and we will tackle the challenges and help him do that. I'm thankful that DD is also healthy, smart and so sweet and calm and easier on my nerves (for now) so I'm not too overwhelmed to function as their Mom, and I love to watch when they interact lovingly with each other.

I am also thankful for an upcoming vacation week in Canada with my extended family. We haven't been in the same place in several years and I am so looking forward to unplugging and relaxing at the lake for a solid week while the kiddo gets to spend time with my grandma, parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I can't wait.

Today I'm thankful for DH making the decision that regardless of what happens with his job we will move back across the country to our families by December. It's been a long road to just get to this stage.

Currently sitting in the waiting room for the first of my sons three therapy sessions today (PT, speech and OT). Instead of letting the stress of it all get to me, I am choosing to be thankful of all the amazing progress he's made. Seeing him run to his PT with smiles and open arms just put the biggest smile on my face. I love that he loves them so much!

I am thankful for the nurse that wouldn't let DD home last night without a final check over. Turns out her heart rate was too high to go home, thankfully better now.
