I'm "WFH" with J today. My home work computer is being wicked slow and eating up precious nap time.
Everyone survive DST? I hate how dark it is at night.
What are your plans for Thanksgiving? We are hosting for the first time!

My sister is hosting Thanksgiving in her new house. She and her H are super excited. It's out of state from us so will be J's first plane flight!

My work comuter/internet is being stupid. It won't load our court registry site or allow me to look up a phone number I need bit Facebook loads just fine. It also won't load amazon up so I could do some shopping...
Dst sucked! The boys were ok with their first wake up but L refused to nap for more than 10 min until 230 yesterday.

marshian how long will the flight be? Our first plane trip went pretty well and even when he was fussy on the way back I just had to nurse him a lot and it wasn't too bad. lastkiss internet problems are the worst. And I really should start Christmas shopping...

I had a wisdom tooth pulled on the 1st, and my gum is still angry about it 👎🏻
DST sucked. DS2 is all congested so he’s getting Benadryl to help now that he’s over 6 months, which is helping him get on schedule. DS1 never really has issues except for adjusting naps, and well, that’s daycare problem 😅
Christmas shopping for the boys is done. I just need to get something for DH. I’m stumped, but I’m always stumped on this.
I’ll be away for training all next week, but we took the boys for photos yesterday. My ILs will be out the day I get back from my trip 👎🏻, but they won’t be over until later that day as we’re meeting with a realtor to start the home buying process after my flight lands. The Saturday following Black Friday, we’ll be heading down to where I’m from to take the boys to see Eggbert. We started the tradition when DS1 was a baby so we’ll continue. He’s old enough to actually enjoy some of it now, I hope.

Managed 3 decent naps today. Bedtime wasn't easy but not awful.
H stayed at work late and is still working upstairs. I had ice cream out of the carton after throwing frozen lasagna in the oven because I can. Now I want to skip dinner and just go to bed.

@icedtea, we've had two decent days of naps (I can still only get 3 in but that's still an improvement for us) and I'm hoping H will keep it up today and we'll see how he does at daycare this week. Is your sister vegetarian, too? What's on the menu?

Ugh I wish I could get three naps in a day. DS2 dropped his third nap at like 3 months old and it's awful. Very rarely he'll take a quick cat nap but it's maybe once a week if that. He's not the unicorn sleeper that DS1 was/is.

I volunteered to go on a work trip in January to Alabama. Why did I do that?!? I told boss I would be taking the baby so maybe this will be fun.

I think I can do it. I braved San Diego with two kids while 7 months pregnant. Granted Dh was there to help, but still I had to work and manage shit like normal.

Hey all! Thanks for the tags in the other threads, sorry I didn't get a chance to go back and respond! Still adjusting to the whole new job and baby thing! I have had some crazy work cases lately and so working longer hours than planned! Super happy to be home at a decent time tonight and enjoying Qdoba!

I was all excited about J's first Election Day but he was a crying mess when I got home. I managed to get him calmed down and ready for bed and had to go vote by myself. Oh well.

piratecat , I pumped a bunch out, which is odd for me at this time of night. That softened it, but I'm still sore. Thanks lupincat ! I hope it gets better soon. I've only had clogs and not full-blown mastitis but "fluffing" usually helps. My MW also recommended boosting your immune system and raw garlic!

Guys, I saw a little spec of a tooth today! How long will it take for it to come all the way through? He has been so moody and sleep is the worst. I want my happy baby back plus we are visiting my family this weekend. Edit: I'm moving my Huckleberry question to the Sleep Training thread to keep it in one place. lastkiss

We got through DST relatively unscathed. I had slowly pushed bedtime later to 8:15PM so that we could do a normal 7:30PM bedtime on Saturday. DS actually slept until his normal wake up on Sunday, which sounds great, but he got a hidden extra hour of sleep, which created a small night gap on Sunday night. Luckily he put himself back to sleep in about 30 minutes. Ugh. This used to be one of my favorite things, but I never realized how much it impacts small children and babies. He seems to be back on his normal schedule now.
We're going to drive to see family on Thanksgiving (maybe 3ish hours). I'm nervous about car naps and/or napping at great grandparents' house.
DS turned 6 months old yesterday! 😭 He did really well at his checkup. Had to get 4 shots since he's old enough for the flu vaccine, and he has to go back next month for his 2nd dose...but then we're off the vaccine wagon until 12 months! Yay! I took the day off of work to stay with him at home because vaccines usually make him really fussy, but he surprised me and handled it like a champ. The pedi also said that his bottom 2 teeth are really close. I think what worries me most about teething (other than obvious fussy/sleep issues) is how it might impact nursing (i.e. biting). I love love love nursing, and because we really struggled to get pregnant, I've accepted the fact that we might be OADNBC, so I'm very attached to our nursing relationship.

gimmesugar 6 months!! I'm also worried about nursing and teeth. J is not the most skilled at nursing and he's constantly clawing at me with his tiny sharp baby nails... I feel like teeth will be just another weapon for him to use. 😝 And holy distracted nursing! So much exposed boob in public! The other day he stopped nursing to look up at me and started laughing so hard, like I had the funniest looking face he had ever seen. 😂

piratecat OMG so cute! Yeah, nursing can sometimes take forever now because I'm always having to refocus DS.

Yesterday we were doing tummy time in the twins' room and my older son (5) came in and started dancing around. He then did something and fell on the ground and L literally burst out in a full blown laugh. It was the cutest thing ever.

It may not full descend/ascend for another month, but the fussing usually stops once it cuts. I have two words of advice: Teething necklace. Normally, I don’t advocate for natural crap, but I will swear by them

Yes- one with a breakaway clasp and knotted between each bead And yeah... it can take a while for the first couple to fully cut.

What month should the babies start wearing the amber necklace cmb ? It depends on your comfort level. I’ve seen people do them around the ankle (double/triple wrapped necklace) as young as 3/4 months DS1 got his at 7/8 months and still wears it, DS2 at 5 months. When you buy, you need to make sure it’s the right size (they should not be able to pull it to their chin or bite it) and triple check it’s a breakaway clasp*. The knot between each bead stops them from flying and becoming a ton of small choking hazards in the event it breaks * there are some on the market that are not. They need to be able to break with the force of a baby if they get caught on something or pulled by another kid** **there was a one week period at daycare when DS1 was around 10 months that they took it off a lot because all the other babies were fascinated by it and kept trying to grab it

I'm terrified of nursing with teeth. Bottom teeth are NBD. Baby's tongue covers the teeth while latched. Top teeth do alter the latch a bit and it's easier for baby to bite/graze you in a way that hurts but for the most part, there's no pain due to teeth.
