Leaf 🌱 my mom also stayed at home so I am sure that's where some of her obliviousness comes from.

I have my a/s and initial MFM appointment soon/in the next hour. Good luck to everyone else who has appointments.
I live in a low cost of living area so the most I pay for daycare for DS is 150 a week. I am thankful that we will only have two kids in daycare for a year. DS will start kindergarten in fall 2019.

nuggetrn, Leaf 🌱 I've also dealt with that too. My mom def doesn't connect to me at all as I am working mom and she SAH. Less about money, and more just time. My job now is way more flexible now, thankfully, but for the first 4 years of DS's life I was working over 40 hours a week and commuting 3 hours total a day. Mom and Dad would come to visit for the weekend and she would get twitchy about Friday night pizza. Sorry Mom. I'll grocery shop tomorrow, but this is my life. You're lucky you get clean sheets in the guestroom!

nuggetrn Congrats to your H on the huge raise!! That's wonderful timing!! auri That's definitely on our radar - he'll see if he can start early at the new job if the old job tells him he doesn't need to come in anymore. We're kinda waiting to see what happens today. Good luck to those with a/s's today!! Keep us posted! I live in a super high COL area, and cost of childcare was the main reason I started SAH once my first was born. My job wasn't one I needed to stay in for career reasons, but it was still a hard decision and I'm thankful that we were able to make it work budget-wise. Childcare would have eaten literally my entire paycheck save $70.

I was at the very very end last one too but the silver lining was i was basically the last American to go to work and I got a ton of good recommendations. Right now though I’m basically like

Good luck woodenshoes. Leaf 🌱, ArielMermaid, I was at the tail end of my last BMB and it drove me insane! I'd have weeks of listening to everyone ahead of me bitch about how awful whatever was happening at that stage and I would just sit there in fear. But then I had a unicorn baby and nothing was ever as bad as they said it was, except for labor, that was the opposite. I would be at the end this time too if it wasn't for us doing 2 months. I promise we'll all still be super excited when it's your turn for this stuff.

I have yoga tonight and I am not feeling it. I signed up before I got pregnant. It's only once a week but I have NO MOTIVATION to go, other than being free of my toddler for an hour.

My u/s went well. The baby looks good. It is measuring big, but my son did too. Both DH and I are tall. My BP was high today. The consult with MFM doctor went well. We will be doing growth u/s every four weeks and in about 10 weeks I will start NST. I see my OB tomorrow, so I will talk to her about what she is comfortable doing at her office and what she would prefer me to see the MFM doctor's for. The MFM doctor also said he doesn't want me to go past 39 weeks. I also need to do my early GD test soon, since I had it last time. They put the order in for me. There was a lot to take in, but I am feeling good.

I didn't think I was in a high COL area until I read this thread... And here I was all excited because I found out this week that the cost for DS went down $100/month (from $1,300 to $1,200) now that he's moved up to the 2 year old room.

Blehhh, I need to figure out what we're all wearing for Christmas card pics this weekend.
I also braved taking DS for a haircut today. He's only had two, and both were disasters that ended up with me holding him with his arms pinned. I found a different place on Yelp, with several reviews saying that they're great with kiddos with ASD and sensory issues (we suspect DS may fall on the spectrum, and he's getting services, but haven't pursued a diagnosis). Anyway, the hair stylist was amazing with DS! She was super patient, followed him around out of the chair to different toys, and gave him breathers. There were still some tears, but he did so much better with it this time. Yelp FTW.

I just got my wedding ring back from the jewelers after having it repaired because a diamond fell out. It took nearly 5 weeks to get it back. I've had it 2 days and it has another diamond missing in the same spot. Somehow during the middle of the night it fell out. My DH purchased it through Zales, which is where the repair warranty is. The closest Zales is 2+ hours away. So, now I have to make a another trip there to have it repaired again and I'm sad about not having my ring to wear and irritated that it wasn't obviously fixed correctly to begin with. Zales should have a pick up and delivery person for these situations, lol.

mattsgirl2004, I'm sorry about your ring. My ring is still broken so I know how upsetting that is.

I’m off to get my flu shot this morning. The kids are scheduled at the pedi at 10 for theirs, so I am going to CVS with them first, to prove how not-too-painful it is.

So I’ll have to pay the $190 but our passports will be ready on time! It’s a four+ hour round trip to pick them up so I’ll just arrange it for same day next week that I’m south for my placenta scan anyway. mattsgirl2004 what a bummer. Can you send it certified through the mail? I’m in a similar situation, mines been ready for pickup for weeks but I haven’t been in that area.

cornpop will it take a lot to get yours fixed? I know your ring is much older and probably more valuable too. I know how much it sucks though to not be able to wear it.

babybean I'm not sure, but doubt it. When I brought it to them in September, I had to sign the reciept to release the ring to them to get fixed. I'm sure I'll have to do that again.

mattsgirl2004 i'm sorry about your ring, sounds like such a pain in the butt for many reasons. hopefully it won't take as long for them to fix it and you won't have any more problems!
