I mean I appreciate almost anyone going in on Trump and his BS, but they can all save the "I wouldn't support him now" stuff. He's been a narcissist and a horrible human for much of his public life but now you've finally seen the light?

He's been a narcissist and a horrible human for much of his public life but now you've finally seen the light? Oh I get it and all I can do is sit here and think, DO SOMETHING about it. cutesy stabbing tweets about the white house being an adult daycare aren't cutting it. They (all of Congress but more importantly, ALL of the GOP) need to stand up to his behavior and call him out on his lies. Plus I dont think Corker would be so 'brave' if he were running for reelection.

Corker would definitely still be toeing the line if he were up for re-election. 45 won the primary in Tennessee pretty handily and then in the general. There are still MAGA signs up.
My local Indivisible group is convinced he is gearing up for a 2020 presidential run. That's why he is speaking out. He needs to be the anti-45.
If he is, I can also see him not moving now to remove the POTUS. He will have a better chance at winning the primary against 45 than against Pence.

IF he does make it to 2020, then we know Pence wont break from him and the GOP will need a strong candidate who its aligned. I wish the Dems would get some really strong leadership out front. There are some great names but I dont know if they would be enough to bring people like Obama did at this point.

Ryan is answering questions. Hes glad T is coming to lunch and thinks Corker will be ok and will vote for the tax reform. And that the 2 of them need to put aside the personal stuff.
Also I really wish someone could explain to me how this tax cut is going to give me a new kitchen. Because yeah, I"m pretty sure I'm gonna get screwed over.
And hes making hunting jokes.
House wants this done by Turkey day. (or gun season, he only hunts during bow season. (something about a muzzleloader season as well) )

Keep in mind, though, that a year out from the 2008 election, no one knew who Obama was either. Well thats not exactly true, he gave a really good speech at the 04 DNC. Which put him in the spotlight for a while and started his ascent. But I understand what you're saying.

I have a pretty bad feeling the tax bill will pass. Whenever they actually write a bill.

Hillary Swore and Fox News Can't DealYup, the President has spent the last few days attacking a pregnant military widow, wanting to put our nuke bombers on 24-hour notice, picking fights with members of Congress - oh and don't even get me started on the network and Bill O'Reilly... but instead let's focus on the fact Hillary Clinton said "shit" on a late night show, quoting a former Republican President. I have half a mind to just start tweeting curse words at FN for shits and giggles.

Well thats not exactly true, he gave a really good speech at the 04 DNC. Which put him in the spotlight for a while and started his ascent. But I understand what you're saying. I was super into politics back then, and while I knew his name, that was about it. He had a much lower profile than Booker, Harris, Warren, or Sanders do today, and I can think of a half dozen others who could run on the Democratic ticket who would similarly be familiar names to most on the left. The more important thing is: we need to already be out there aggressively pushing candidates for the 2018 mid-terms, driving insane amounts of money to DNC coffers, and that's not happening. I'm way more worried about losing ground in Congress in the 2018 mid-terms than I am the 2020 election, which is 2 years away from really heating up. I mean, Trump didn't even enter the 2016 race until October 2015. Before that he was an overly-spray-tanned, tribble-haired joke. So...a lot can change in 3 years. I'm not worried about 2020 yet. Both are important. There are 23 (?) seats up in mid terms? so yes, but the momentum that built in 04 was important for 08. So short term is to keep and add seats but long term there needs to be a clear leadership in the party and I dont think we're there. I mean I guess some left leaning non-politician could decide in 2019 they are going to throw their hat in just to see what happens but the left doesnt have that tea party buildup that eventually led to T.

They will hire subcontractors. Not unusual in any way as far as that aspect goes. Not that it still isn't fishy as fuck. Yeah, but how much profit will they shave off for themselves? This is always an issue in FEMA contracts, though. Companies take on these lucrative contracts to rebuild, then subcontract, subcontract, subcontract, and everyone takes a good bit off the top. It was a huge problem after Katrina. Hence why I said it's still fishy? And yes, every layer will build in a profit margin. Do you expect contractors to break even on every project and never make a profit?

Have we seen/discussed this thread yet? None of that surprises me, just based on some things my sister and brother-in-law have told me about their time in the service. And I'm sure they didn't tell me everything. Remember that white teenager at the Louisville Tru.mp rally who Shaun King and others outed and the Marines cancelled his contract? I know Marines who said he would have fit right in, but the optics were so bad, he had to go.

I don't think the timing is right to start anointing 2020 candidates. The election cycle is long enough, don't give Fox News even more time to mount a smear campaign.

I see a lot of unseat Rodney Davis signs and bumper stickers in our district and it gives me life. Not that we have a strong candidate running against him with any real visibility atm.
