We could just start at the top of the list & work our way down?

We could just start at the top of the list & work our way down? Sounds good to me. I'll start reading up on Joan Risch.

Are we going to discuss Maura Murray? Does anyone watch the show? let's do it! I've been watching. Has McBenny ? I am obsessed with this case.

Our first one. Maybe we can skip around or skip some that aren't as mysterious. Plus we should talk Maura Murray and The Eleven at some point too.
1. Joan Risch, disappeared 1961 Risch was 31 when she vanished from her Boston home, leaving nothing but blood on her kitchen floor. Her daughter ran to a neighbor that day, saying, "Mommy is gone and the kitchen is covered with red paint.'' Weeks prior, Risch had checked out a book from the library about a woman who disappeared and left nothing but blood and a towel.

I seem to think that Joan Risch had some kind of foul play involved with the timing aspect of the whole thing. Like someone else was involved besides just her. The abortion theory can be made believable. However, the whole books on true crime and disappearance throws me off. Then I think look at all of us intrigued by true crime. So I'm not sure.

Right, like lord only know what someone would think if they reviewed my reading and viewing history. I actually worry that if something happened to my husband I would be suspect #1 based on this alone.

Can anyone figure out why that one site thinks they know where her body is buried?

The abortion theory is really intriguing. But I'd hope that a doctor looking to avoid trouble would take her body and dump it elsewhere, so that she'd be found but not commented to him/her.
I don't get why if it was an abortion gone wrong, you'd need to hide her body and leave a kid in the house.

I think the siting of the woman walking on 2A toward concord is not a credible lead. I feel like Joan looks like every 1960's housewife and someone in a passing car would not be able to get a good look. So in terms of timeline, I am throwing that one out of the mix.

I wish we knew what red object she was seen carrying. I feel like that would be a big clue.

I wish we knew what red object she was seen carrying. I feel like that would be a big clue. According to the statement from Mrs. Barker at the scene, she said she "saw" something red. Not that she was carrying something red. She thought red thing was a child she was chasing.

There are a few inconsistencies in Mrs. Barker's statement that I am noting:
-She said that Joan picked up her son and returned home at 10:45, but other reports i read said it was more like 11:45
-She initially said she saw Joan at 2:30, but then changed that to 2:15
-She said she dropped the older kid off at the house at 3:45. It's curious that she did not discover anything at that time. Like she just dumped the kid at the house without saying hello?

Just because the husband has a solid alibis of being out of town, doesn't mean he didn't hire someone to do something to her.
There was a comment in the above linked article that he didn't refer to the children by name. Used "the boy" and "the other child". He also referred to his wife in the past tense.

His statement does sound very detached, but it also sounds like it was being dictated and written down by someone else. It's possible the descriptions of the children and the was could have been the inference of the person writing down what he was saying. Like if a police office was was transcribing and the police officer was like oh yeah this broad his dead, he might have written was based on his belief of the outcome?

That Dark Matters video is confusing. She says Joan dropped both children off at the swing set in the neighbors yard, without telling the neighbor, and told her daughter she would be back. Yet, the neighbor only takes the daughter back home and later gets the baby from his room because he was crying......?
Also, a sign of the times, parents just dropping kids off in yards back and forth all day.

IDK, H & I refer to our kids when talking to each other as "the boy" and "the girl". Like let's tag team bedtime, do you want the boy or the girl?; oh my lanta, your girl is a nut job today; the boy has zero interest in homework until dinner. So that part doesn't really speak to me, outside of the boy and the other one, that is really weird. It could also just be how the officer taking his statement wrote things. The dad could have very well said Lillian and David (?) and that's just not what the officer wrote.

That's what I took it as when it's said that she dropped both kids off to the neighbor. Her daughter and the neighbor's son.

brux I read this entire pdf book and I cannot find a clear explanation as to why they believe the body was in the adjoining lot. www.truth-link.org/pdfs/imgall.pdfI sent a message asking for clarification. So far, I have not seen this theory anywhere else.
