cagoldi before I forget. I've been watching Masterchef Australia and this week is Ottolengi week. He makes a lot of vegetable based meals, all of which look delicious, and though of you! Btw, I know this is my first post today, so hi!

I'm pissed off at Target. I just had it out with them on online chat and the 800 number.
I may have over reacted.
But I really want my order.

I woke up this morning to one of my coworkers frantically telling me that there was a fire super close to my house.
Cue the OMG IT REALLY SMELLS LIKE FIRE and where the hell is this coming from thoughts.
Turns out it was about a mile away but not too big and is almost completely contained at this point.

Have you noticed how many toys now focus on coding? Apparently toy manufacturers want our kids to grow up to be computer programmers. Maybe it's so they'll get away with paying them less if there's an abundance of them.

Speaking of smells this morning... I walked in to daycare and it smelled like a week's worth of poopy diapers had been lit on fire in the lobby over night. It was so terrible. My eyes were watering and I had to hold back from gagging. The classrooms smelled, but not as terrible. None of the teachers knew where it was coming from and they had windows open as it was 45 degrees out to try and air it out.
I certainly hoped they figured it out quickly before they all had to endure that smell much longer. *hork*

inthekitty That sucks that just food choices have gotten in the way. Are you doing the weight watchers or is she? She's into WW. Don't get me wrong because I know WW has been helpful to many people, but her approach to it is kind of cult-like and very time consuming. I could also see the fervor is this was new to her but she's been a member for about 1.5 years. She talks about it nonstop and I fully support her healthy changes, but I think since I'm not a member she...I don't know, doesn't think I'll understand how to be healthy, I guess? I'm trying to lose weight too. I'm proud of myself in the strength area, I can kick butt exercise-wise, but I still need to lose weight. I'm all for healthy eating so I'm at a loss of why she avoids dinners together now. I know for a while it was just a scheduling thing, but it's definitely more than that.
TLDR; adult relationships are hard.
I understand people becoming almost obsessed with things like that. You can see it in really almost any "health" thing be it keto, whole 30, vegetarian or even cross fit type things. I think there is so much misinformation that people become fixated on the one that clicks for them. There is more than one road to health. What about taking a weekly long walk together. Healthy and together time.

LOL friends. What friends? I have you guys and chrisy01. I guess my sisters. I meet up with my activist friends when I can, but they don't have kids. My BFF lives in FL and all my local friends annoy the crap out of me. They're all SAH which is fine but they love being martyrs and that works my nerves like nothing else. Plus we have a strong contingent of people who spent 5 minutes reading some natural health bullshit article by Gwyneth Paltrow or David Fraudacado Wolfe and now they are experts on GMOs and vaccines. Oh, Trump supporters too. I hope I don't annoy you

Sometimes we go on walks too, but I can't plan on walks as a regular thing with her because of my dog. This is ridiculous, but she's my dog's auntie, as such she spoils her (she takes her for walks sometimes) and while my dog is usually well-behaved, she's s turd and ignores me when my friend is around. It's the classic "I can do whatever I want with auntie/grandma" situation so unless we're going on trails in the boonies where other people aren't around and my dog can go off-leash I can't be with the two of them or I go crazy with a dog who completely ignores me. And to think I was just praising her upthread.

Good lord, I just scanned through a reading I have to complete. The military is the worst offender in crappy, way too busy graphics that make no sense. Visual aids should make a presentation easier to understand, not harder.

$50 and a few EBay searches later, X is the proud owner of his very own Mommy Dog. Why both of my children are obsessed with this particular discontinued lovey is a mystery to me. I'm going to have to sew a big X or something on it so they can easily distinguish whose is whose.

I just got into an argument with a store manager at Target. She reprimanded him for not checking my id when I was purchasing wine. She told him he could get a ticket for that. Ummmm, no he can't. She said he could and they send undercover officers in there all the time to test the employees and they get tickets. I explained to her that he could get a ticket for selling to a minor, but not to someone over the age of 21. She continued to argue with me. She said it was in their handbook. I explained that it may be their store policy that everyone has to present ID, but you can not get a ticket for not asking to see someone's ID if they're 21 or older. She still disagreed with me as I was walking out the door.
OMG why is Target pissing me off so much today?

tgrimes back up, your Target sells wine???? Clearly my Target is doing it wrong. wedding congratulations on the review! I would also love to rescue a dog but we never qualify. T sings "I wish I had a dog, had a dog" to if your happy and you know it. Poor T woke me up at 5 saying he needed a tissue and new pjs. He handed me the tissue and it was soaked. I turned the light on and he had a bloody nose and his entire face and both arms were covered in blood. It was a horrible site to see. I had a surprise observation at work today so now I'm done with those until 2019!

tgrimes I’m sorry and I love you. On a target related note, I had issues with them this week too. I placed a big order to pickup on store and when I went to get it they only had like had my stuff and they guy said for whatever reason the other part of the order had been cancelled, that maybe they had sold out. Ok, annoying, but whatever. But then I get the email receipt thanking me for picking up my FULL order and I’m forming me I had been charged the whole amount. So then I had to have them refund the part of the order that they hadn’t given me, and then when I started my shopping I found all the items from my order that supposedly had been cancelled because they were out of stock out on the floor. I had words with them. Don’t fuck with me target, you’re suppose to be my happy place.

I thought all Targets sold beer and wine! That's one of the best parts about Target... I think it also depends on state liquor laws. The targets in Kansas don't, but the ones in Missouri do.

They are opening a trader Joe's next to my office in the city and I am so excited for the wine!! I regularly go to the grocery store in DC for beer and wine and bring it back to my desk before going home. MD kind of stinks but nice I can cross into a state and the district within 10 min.
