I have my performance review this morning and I had a dream last night about being fired from the vet clinic. I ran the wrong test on a cat and my boss lost her mind. It was a horrible dream and now I'm all anxious for my review.
This afternoon I am going with an officer and offender to the DMV to get his license reinstated. I'm the only one available with the purchase card. I'm not looking forward to waiting at the DMV but I really am rooting for the offender and this will be a big step for him.

I'm sure your review will be great wedding! Although I get the anxiousness...I was the same way at mine last week.

I'm at work early this morning because E stayed with grandparents last night, so I didn't have to fight with her this morning. I'm not that busy right now, so it could be a long, slow day.

I put in an application with a Lab rescue a month ago. They recommended applying even though we wouldn't be ready to adopt for a while and said the approval is good for 2 years. The process takes a bit so I wanted to have the application approved so when we are ready we won't miss a match. I get an email this morning saying:
In reviewing your application it appears that you would not qualify for a puppy. Save a Lab requires that a puppy not be crated/left alone for more than one hour per one month of age (daytime hours inclusive). Bladder capacity is just one of the considerations. There is also the process of teaching the puppy to be okay staying alone comfortably for a short amount of time and a puppy's critical socialization to consider.
We would be happy to consider your application for an adult. Is that something you are agreeable to?
I'm offended. 1) We wanted an adult anyway. But also want a pair and sometimes that is hard to find with adults so we would like the option of puppies. Did she not read my application and see this? 2) Seriously rescue! This stuff pisses me off so much because clearly I am stupid qualified to have any dog I want. But rescues have their hard and fast rules and she clearly looked at my app and saw I work full time and shut it down. Apparently she missed where I said I would have a dog walker or doggie daycare so the dog would at most be along 4-5hrs per day. 3) It's stuff like this that turn people off to rescues. It took a month to get a response and then it's obvious she didn't read my application.
Anyway, I emailed her back explaining that we do want an adult but don't want the door shut on a puppy and that it would not be alone that long and I get it. So frustrating! Looks like I will be throwing apps into other rescues as well.

We looked into some for specific breeds a while ago and they won't let you adopt if you have an underground fence or no fence at all. I understand the no fence if you live in the city/suburb. But we live on 100 acres.. And I have no idea why they won't let you if you have an underground fence. One I looked at had a no children under 5 rule.

When we adopted our bulldog no rescue would approve us because we didn't have a fence. The damn dogs hardly move! There is a local labradoodle rescue I was looking at and they won't adopt with kids in the home under 10yo.

That’s frustrating wedding, that sounds like a copy/paste paragraph and not an individual response, meaning that they didn’t read the application as you figured. Annoying. Keep your eye on the prize.

Morning.
I barely slept last night and of course I promised B a stay home day and a playdate with his bestie from the other daycare that left in September. His mom and I have become friends so we enrolled them in Sportball once and week and do playdates, they are so fun together.

Good morning and!
I'm a little grouchy today because I'm feeling disconnected from my college friends (and my family, but that's another story). With my college friends, I have to say no to a lot of things because they all have either no kids or kids that are in the 7 to 10 range or if they plan overnights without the kids, they have parents or siblings to help them out and we don't. I don't mind saying no, but now they've just stop asking, and that hurts.

They are the laziest dog I've ever seen lol. Those and Saint Bernards. My in laws saint would get up and move from air vent to air vent until the air conditioning turned on lol. 10 is really extreme! Barring special needs, 10 year olds are usually great with dogs!

I have a similar situation where I feel like a lot of my friends just stopped asking b/c I am one of the only ones with little kids, and I have no one to easily watch them. It stinks. But I have started spending more time with the friends we've made through S school. Not the same type of relationship, but at least it keeps me busy and social.

wedding, that's absurd. If you're not able to adopt, who is? You're like the poster child for having a dog!

I have my 2 month OB visit this morning. I felt like someone having their hand up my vagina, so this works out perfect.

guster hugs. Growing pains are hard with college friends and not being able to relate anymore. Even my college bff who lives in Cali and has a baby a week younger than N I'm struggling with..we just have different lives and very different situations. Sorry, no, we aren't going to get a vacation house with you (wth?!), Maybe we can GO on vacation with you..it's funny bc on this board we have all types of moms and I have no issues with different situations, but something about her complaints about SAH and her kids first slight runny nose (as I can't remember n without a runny nose) grates the hell out of me. Not to mention her house shopping comments... everything I look at is "adorable", gee, thanks. /End rant

It’s a sad day for Canada today; Gord Downie, lead singer of The Tragically Hip has died of brain cancer. All the tears.
His music is a part of Canadian history, was played in every household with every Canadian having memories that included the music and concerts.

I’m sorry guster, this is a really isolating time with kids, I’m sorry they are being hurtful. I don't think it's malicious. I think that's what hurts more. If there was an inciting incident or they were annoyed with me for something, I would get it, but finding out via Facebook and Instagram is painful. 😢

This is what I keep reminding myself of. I have a couple of close girlfriends who live in the area, and Josie's friends parents at school. It's not the same, but it's something. Thank you for the commiseration.

wedding ugh that annoys the hell out of me. I get that they are trying to be thorough, but sometimes you just want a dog and don't want to go through a million hoops to get one a good home. MH says we will adopt, but I have a feeling we will try and it won't work and we will end up with a breeder.

wedding, we have been denied due to the food brands we were feeding the cats. Brands that had been approved by our vet. It was weird.

Peach, what's an underground fence? It's a line under ground that interacts with their collars. If they get to close it beeps, they ignore the beep it gives them a light shock. You train them by putting flags on the line and slowly remove the flags until they're all gone. My dogs won't even cross it with their collars off. We have to carry them over it or put them in a car to get them to leave lol.

My dog growing up had an electric underground fence. About once a year she would grow enough balls to bolt through and go for a spree with the neighbors dog, who also would bolt through her fence. It was comical how they clearly planned the escape.
