I am pregnant check-in:
How far along are you? 37+4 today (Tuesday)
Any concerns? How are you feeling? No concerns... just feeling like I’ll never deliver this baby and I’ll be pregnant forever.
What kind of appointment? Regular OB check Wednesday
How did it go? Went good, measuring on track and hb was great. He had the hiccups and it was super cute to hear over the doppler.
Any feels/vents/etc? I’m so so tired and having a bit of pelvic pain
Learn anything new? Nope... just waiting for him to come out on his own
Next appointment: Wednesday 10/18

I am a new mom check-in: How many weeks PP/How old is baby? J is 12 days old now. Today is his EDD How are you feeling? Any concerns? I'm getting better each day. C/S recovery has been rough. How is baby in general doing? Pretty good. We were in the pediatric ER Saturday night for breathing difficulties. The Dr thinks it's related to some gas troubles. He takes in a lot of air due to a tongue/lip tie. So, we're now doing Mylicon until he can get revised. How is baby eating / sleeping? Aside from taking in lots of air, he's a nursing champ. He's also a big sleeper, and I generally need to wake him to eat. BF or FF? How is that going? BF (see above) Milestones? Both baby and mom. - hit EDD today. Nothing else too exciting.

I am a new mom check-in: How many weeks PP/How old is baby? 3 days old! How are you feeling? Any concerns? Sleep deprived~ but otherwise not too bad. Crampy and sore. How is baby in general doing? He's a pretty chill guy unless you dare to change his diaper. Alert a lot more than I expected for how old he is, especially all night long. Sleeps on the boob just fine but his eyes pop right open when he's not latched. How is baby eating & sleeping? Woops guess I sort of answered that, but he eats 24/7 and only really sleeps while nursing or during the day. BF or FF? How is that going? BF and great - I think my milk is coming in well. Meeting wet/dirty diaper expectations and I hear some swallows now while he nurses. Nipples are sore but not damaged. Milestones? Both baby and mom. Survived my first PP poo today - thanks Colace! He has his first pedi appointment tomorrow morning. One of my favorite pics from the hospital:

versed so glad everything’s alright but taking him to the ER must have been terrifying! arimaythea I love that picture! My oldest only slept during the day if he was nursing. At the time it was hard but looking back on it, it forced me to relax and was actually really cozy. Hope you are having cozy moments!

I am a new mom check-in:
How many weeks PP/How old is baby? 1 week old!
How are you feeling? Any concerns? I can feel my hormones crashing so I’m trying to acknowledge I’m a bit more emotional than usual. I feel like I’m handling it better than with DD1 but it might be because I know what is happening to my body this time around.
How is baby in general doing? Baby is a little jaundice. I thought her coloring looked odd over the weekend but my husband is colorblind and couldn’t tell anything so we waited till her appt today and doctor agreed she looked a little yellow but wasn’t too concerned. We got another blood test done just in case and her levels are a little higher than when we left the hospital (11.8 and it should be 5 or under I think?!) so my orders are to BF every 2-3 hours and get out in the sun (if possible, super rainy/cloudy here lately). Nurse said something about checking in next monday but I may call tomorrow to see what the doctor says (she’d left for the day by the time DD2s blood results came in).
How is baby eating & sleeping? Sleeping a lot but it could be due to jaundice, eating well despite being a sleepy nurser we are far exceeding expectations for dirty and wet diapers so that makes me feel good - and we are almost to birth weight so I feel better about that too.
BF or FF? How is that going? BF, going well just have to work a little harder at it due to the jaundice
Milestones? Both baby and mom. Nothing huge, just small things like managing to cook breakfast with DD1 while managing the baby at the same time helps fill up some normalcy and makes me feel like we can do this.

I am pregnant check-in:
How far along are you? 38w5d
Any concerns? How are you feeling? I feel massive and I am sick of prodromal labor (going on 7 days of it). On the positive side, now that all my bedrest restrictions have been lifted since I hit 37 weeks, I'm happy to be able to move around more and build back all the muscle I lost while on strict bedrest and modified bedrest (which was from 8-37 weeks).
What kind of appointment? Weekly MFM appointment - cervix check, ultrasound, NST
How did it go? It went okay. I was super disappointed to learn that while my cervix is soft, it's still closed and friggin 2.3cm long. Baby is head down/face down and in perfect birthing position. All organs and measurements were good. He also passed the NST in 30 min, so that's good.
Any feels/vents/etc? I am so ticked off that all these uncomfortable and sleep depriving contractions haven't even been able to open my cervix a little. What is the point body???
Learn anything new? I asked the doctor if there was anything I could do to either help bring on labor or stop the prodromal labor, and he was like - it's up to your hormones. So...you could sit on a bouncing ball, walk 5km a day, and drink a gallon of red raspberry tea - but if the hormones aren't right...you're probably out of luck. Conversely, not really anything i can do to stop the prodromal labor either. That kind of made me feel better - as I think I just need to make peace with the situation and focus on the fact that baby will eventually get here.
Next appointment: Monday!

I am pregnant check-in:
How far along are you? 38 + 3
Any concerns? How are you feeling? Still concerns about babies growth. Feeling good.
What kind of appointment? Midwife and ultrasound
How did it go? Really well. Decided to go ahead and do the cervical check, (optional at this point). I'm 50% effaced, 1-2 cm dilated and baby's head was right there. Midwife offered a stretch and sweep, so I got that done. Then went off to my ultrasound, had a good tech for this one, they usually don't give results but she basically gave them to me and let me watch the ultrasound (others have not). Baby's growth is measuring behind but still a good percentile.
Any feels/vents/etc? Feeling great that I didn't go to the hospital to be induced.
Learn anything new? If I have to be induced they will start by breaking my water and only use pitocin if I don't progress. I was so happy to hear that.
Next appointment: Midwife on Monday (39+1 ) and another ultrasound on Tuesday.

I am pregnant check-in:
How far along are you? 39w 2d, appointment was yesterday
Any concerns? How are you feeling? I'm ready to meet our baby!
What kind of appointment? regular check, cervix check
How did it go? it went well
Any feels/vents/etc? I asked the NP about induction and she said "whenever you want". I'm like, uhhmmm.. So then she said they could do the induction on Friday for a Saturday baby!! I talked to DH and we decided we will probably wait her out, at least until next Thursday/Friday. I was getting all types of excited though!
Learn anything new? No, just that she is welcome to come out anytime now!!
Next appointment: I need to call them back now and tell them no for this weekend and probably make a new appointment.

How far along are you? 40+3
Any concerns? How are you feeling? Just feeling ready to go!
What kind of appointment? OB with an NST
How did it go? It went well and I passed, even though the Dr did kind of jiggle him a little to wake him up. He said I probably didn't even need to do the test at this point.
We also didn't bother with a cervical check. We're all set for tomorrow!
Any feels/vents/etc? Feeling excited and ready to meet this guy.
Learn anything new? I asked how I'll be induced and he said they'd break my water and then start pitocin soon after. It's actually the other ob who will be delivering, so we'll see what she says. Like I said in today's randoms - I'd prefer to avoid pitocin, but if that's what we need to do to get him here safely, then that's what we'll do.
Next appointment: Tomorrow morning at the hospital!!!! Commence freak out.

I am a new mom check-in:
How many weeks PP/How old is baby? Almost 5 weeks. He was a month old on Monday.
How are you feeling? Any concerns? Feeling great. Healed up nicely. 6 week checkup is on the 26th, so I'm hoping to get the all clear and have all restrictions lifted.
How is baby in general doing? He's doing amazing.
How is baby eating & sleeping? He's still reading every 2 to 2.5 hours. He's up to 2.5 ounces a feeding. He really stingy give us longer stretches of sleep until he's up over 3oz I believe.
BF or FF? How is that going? FF. Just fine. We've been going back and forth between Similac Advance and the Kirkland equivalent. I noticed the Kirkland brand makes his BMs harder and he's fussy, so I may just Stick With Similac until he matures some more.
Milestones? Both baby and mom. I did put on my pre-pregnancy jeans for the photos last Saturday. I still have a lot more weight to lose though. Lol

We tried off brands and ended up on enfamil purple kind. It was the only thing that didn't leave him screaming in gas pains and allowed him 1 single poop per day

He was totally fine today with the Kirkland. Totally normal non-fussy poops. I mentioned to the doc about the more solid movements at his 1 month and she seemed unconcerned. That's good information to know.

Normal for bf babies. But still odd and pp mom concern...ya know? Then today??? All the poops all morning. Pooped before we left. Pooped at the pedi waiting room. Pooped after his weight check. Poop. Poop poop. Newborns man. They will keep you guessing.

I am still fucking pregnant check-in:
How far along are you? 39+6
Any concerns? How are you feeling? I was already in a mood and now I'm even worse in a mood. Physically I feel great, minus the nausea and vomiting when I don't eat and the heartburn and indigestion when I do.
What kind of appointment? OB
How did it go? 3 cm dilated, 50% effaced. Docs require 2cm and 50% in order to be induced but if it's before 41 weeks, it's totally at the doctors discretion.
I asked for induction at 40+4 and these fuckers denied me. Said we can do it at 41+2, which gives me 3 days with my mom.
Oh. We did do a membrane sweep so, fx for that. COME ON UNIVERSE.
Any feels/vents/etc? Murder feels, many murder rage feels.
Next appointment: 10/20 for ultrasound and NST

cythe why would they not let you in for an induction at 40+4? That's past your due date and you're already at their "requirements". How odd. I'm sending all the "body go in to labor" vibes your way so you can have more time with your mom. I probably would have been crying had they denied my request.

cythe WTF that doctor sucks! But the fact that you are 3 cm and 50% is a good sign your body is getting ready, maybe go for a walk and see if things can get going?

All the labor vibes, cythe. I can't believe your doctors refused to induce you earlier. Did you play the "my husband is serving and my mom is only here for a short time pleeeeeeease" cards? Because at this point, I would have no shame in begging.

That's the worst part, the doc I saw today (who is not the doc that declined me, I see 8 of them...) anyway, the doc I saw today asked me first thing what the husband status was. THEY KNOW. I also explained my mom's schedule. They're sympathetic but I guess won't do anything about it.

my practice won't induce ftm until 41 either. Mine will - electively - at 39. That's the issue I dont get it. You can elect to have an induction at 39 weeks, but any time after you have to wait til 41? Wtf? My practice also has a billion doctors, some wont induce, some will. Same with membrane sweeps. Can you ask to consult another doctor? Or talk to the head of the practice?

I am pregnant check-in:
How far along are you? 39+4 Any concerns? How are you feeling? I just can't believe I'm still pregnant. I really thought I'd go earlier this time around. Damn stubborn kids! What kind of appointment? Regular OB check up How did it go? Good. I love this one doctor so much. The odds of her delivering me are slim to none, but it's been great to have her these last few crucial weeks. Any feels/vents/etc? I know I've been saying I wanted to avoid an induction, but it looks like that is going to be the case again. I'm going to push for next Thursday bc that is the most convenient for my family. I hate basing my body off my family, but I really need them around (both sets are 4 hours away) for a few days. It's annoying to think about, but they wanted to induce me that following Monday anyway, so what's a few days earlier? I'm already having flashbacks to my last induction and it's scaring me. The doctor said my cervix looked very induceable, so yay? lol Learn anything new? Membrane sweep didnt work, so I'll go back Monday and have her sweep again. Next appointment: Monday for the sweep and scheduling induction for Thursday the 19th. Praying baby boy gets the message before then and this will all be a moot point!!

cythe I’m so sorry. I feel like you are going to go earlier. I’ve said this before and it’s not for everyone, but if you are open to it and can find a place you’d trust (sometimes chiros do it or can rec someone) I’d do acupuncture. I’d start 4 days before my target day.
