You need to vent and it is 0412....
I was trying to edit an online order. They recently changed their website to a more user friendly format (HA!) I was scrolling to edit the order and somehow hit the ORDER NOW button....which placed a $200+ order instantly!!!!!! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 I was going to use my $200 worth of rewards points to place the order...I don't have $200 cash to spend on these things right now!!!!! I am LIVID. So, come 1100 when they open....I'm calling!!!

This is the randoms, yes?
Well, after having a week and a half of an angelic newborn, baby boy was fussy all day yesterday. I was thinking back to Saturday night and my meal included 2 oysters and my gut tells me that they caused his tummy to hurt. He seems to be on the mend now. After a long day with him barely napping, H got the swing out last night. Put him to sleep instantly. Like magic that swing is. I hope we have a good day today but it's nice to know that the swing will do the trick if I need.

It is going to be a long week. I need to hustle to get everything I can done work wise just in case I go into labor and so that hopefully the following week, is just maintenance kind of work. I don’t want to do anything at this point though and am lacking serious motivation

I have off today! Just need to get DD to Daycare and then idk what to do with myself! Haha. I guess rest? Maybe a pedicure? ssm is it a local store or a big chain? I’m sure they’ll be able to cancel it for you. If not, you get it and you return it. Don’t stress!

Feeling frustrated - H has a mancold or something but you would think with the way he’s acting he might have the flu.... which he tried to tell me maybe he did and I was all “no you don’t”. He has no fever, no upset stomach or other issues. He’s mostly just sore and tired - it’s called being a new parent, suck it up buttercup. I think it’s been awhile since he experienced sleep deprivation and it’s getting to him. Once DD1 only started waking once or twice to nurse, I was the only one getting up with her so it’s been like 2+ years since he experienced this “all hours of the night thing”. I’m just frusterated cause dude, we have newborn and 2.5 yr old, I need help somewhere. We’re playing it safe and keeping the baby away but he could totally help with the toddler - he’s not dying. I’m just frustrated because if it were reversed, I wouldn’t get to sleep all day and not help. Obviously I’m less than kind right now as I too am suffering sleep deprivation but seriously.... Sorry about the morning ssm, I’m right there with you.

danvers, i don't even have a 2 year old and got mad at DH for double standards on our sleep this weekend. Friday night he handled a long wake-up from DS, so i let him sleep an extra 2 hours after DS and i got up. Saturday night i was up at least 2.5 hours with DS and when DS woke up, DH brought him straight in to me.

ssm I hope you get it all straightened out. It's a good point that you can always return it and start over. danvers DH and I had a conversation about how I'm going to need help and can't do everything once the baby is here. I think he was offended, but he seriously sat there watching football all weekend and told DS to wait because the game is on. So then he comes to me for help or entertainment. Sigh.

danvers Man colds are the worst...as are the generally unfair standards we as a society have regarding the amount of housework/parenting work that is automatically placed on the woman's shoulders. It's totally normal to feel frustrated with your DH in that situation - I've been there. I remember when we had DS, I just had so much rage at how unfair the different expectations were between men and women when it comes to childcare.

Wishing a very happy Thanksgiving to all the Canadian O17ers! Hope you guys are feasting on delicious food and enjoying some family time 😀 As for us - no baby yet...on day 5 of prodromal labor, but the contractions seem to be getting less intense. Either that or I am getting used to them and tuning them out? I dunno. Baby will come when he's ready, and I'm just going to try to get as much rest as I can in the meanwhile. Time to put on a snail goo sheet mask!

ssm good luck but you should be able to straighten that out on the phone for sure. If all else fails, start crying and say you just had a baby. This would happen to be naturally if I was you and they tried to give me pushback! danvers that sucks that your DH is sick. Is DD1 still going to daycare? I would keep the baby away from your H just in case and would be extra careful around DD1 just bc if she gets it, it’s def going to travel throughout the house. DS1 went through a back to back to back bad cold spree right when DS2 was born which sent me into a frenzy. DS2 got his first cold at 3 weeks but it was a 2 on the cold scale when DS1 was like a 9. Those early immunities from birth really do matter. 🤞

When this baby is born, H is in charge of DS1 and DS2 overnight and waking up in the morning and all that.
I’m soley on baby duty unless someone is really sick and requiring Mom.

ssm I hope you can get it straightened out. rachydc Relax, pedicure, and wander with a hot coffee through a favorite store are my go to's. Taitai My thanksgiving dinner last night looked nothing like that picture... I want a do over! It's Thanksgiving here everything is closed and the remnants of Nate are coming through. H is home and driving me bananas. He feels the need to do stuff but is doing nothing useful and is just hovering. DD is enjoying the attention from the IL's. I'm planning a playground outing after nap time and maybe H and I will go to a movie this evening.

Hey ladies. I'm a bit of a Debbie downer today, I dropped H off at the ship this morning and I'm about to get up and take his stuff out of my hospital bag. Im planning on filling that space with more snacks. You've all been so helpful and supportive so far, so thank you guys Yesterday we dropped my car off at the hospital so I'd have a way to get home after baby arrives - and I promptly left my cell phone in the cup holder. So, we had to go all the way back and get that. H was VERY impressed. At this point, I'm just waiting for baby to arrive. I've decided to ask for an induction at or by the 16th so my mom's days aren't wasted. I refuse to have her here just watching me be pregnant. I've also decided I will physically fight any doctor who tries to tell me "no". Wish me luck, lol.

Still pregnant. I'm really not surprised at going over my EDD, as DS was 8 days overdue, I'm just bummed. Maybe I wouldn't be as bummed about it if I weren't dealing with contractions for no apparent reason.
My belly has been so sore and tight ALL the time the past few days and it's so uncomfortable! I do not remember this from my other 2.
Ran to the grocery store this morning while DD is at school, did some laundry, and thinking about getting the diaper bag all packed up. I haven't used it since DS was little so I've got to remember what goes in!

Can you asked for an induction the day after your mom is scheduled to arrive? This is exactly what I would do if I were you. No one should be alone in the delivery room.

I would be overdue by then and I'm already 2cm dilated so I can't think they'd fight me on it.

Remind me that it is normal to dislike everyone and everything at this point. I'm irrationally grumpy and short tempered right now with everything, including myself and my grumpiness. I told DH yesterday that i don't particularly like anyone right now when he asked me who my favorite people were, and he was acting really really hurt and offended that i didn't say him and DS. Normally they are, but as the people I'm around all the time while I'm 38.5 weeks pregnant and have been having contractions for 9 days now, no one is my favorite.

I hope everyone struggling today finds some relief. I bet we get lots of O17 babies this week! ❤️

cythe I chose to be induced for a similar reason (family around). The doctors shouldn’t fight you. Just be sure to explain to them why you’re choosing, not that you HAVE to, but I’m sure it’d help. I want to say good luck, but I don’t think you’ll need it

It was 90 yesterday.

Well today's my due date. Whoever said seconds come sooner can kiss my stretch-marked ass.
My regular Dr actually just called to suggest that I be induced on Friday. I guess they didn't update my records with the appt, heh. But I'm glad that he's on the same page as the other doctor, even if he didn't realize it.

I'm not sure where to put this by I need advice!
-So baby has hydronephrosis and will be put on antibiotics at birth and be seen by a urologist one week after birth. The urologist says its not necessary to induce because of the hydronephrosis. The plan is the same and won't change.
-MFM docs suggest I get induced at 39 weeks - not because its necessary but because the baby doesn't gain anything by staying in longer than 39 weeks so they figure why not.
-OB says the MFM docs are being very conservative and doesn't think it's necessary but she said since I'm a 2nd time mom she feels the induction would go just fine and an induction wouldn't put me at greater risk of c-section
-DH totally against induction because he thinks it means automatic c-section (which we both don't want)
-I'm torn because the longer I stay pregnant, the better chance of baby having meconium (which DD1 had when she was born on her due date) or placenta problems, etc. I'm an epidural girl so I think an induction I would feel less pain and having a toddler at home, plans for her would be easier. Still a little worried it could go poorly or how it would effect baby.
So induction or no induction?

kinipela7 did you have a cs with your first? I agree that being induced doesn't necessarily mean you'll end up with a section. I was induced with my first and delivered vaginally. I wouldn't worry about that part too much. If it decreases the risk of meconium and placental problems I'd say it's worth it.
