There are no requirements. No tech knowledge is needed. I would like someone who can represent the different areas of the forum. The vision is for a Team and not one person in charge type of thing. The team can make any needed decisions.
So, if you are interested let me know.

I am not sure to be honest. I mean with mods on the forum there shouldn't be too much. Things Admins can do versus them is move boards and stuff around and delete boards and create them. I can go through the list.
Other than that the only thing I can think of that would need to be done is make a TOU. We can check out other forums to see what's common on that.
I think more importantly is for people to feel they have a rep on the team for decision making. What that means I'm not sure. I will maybe reach out to other Admins on other forums and see what they say. I'll get back with you.

Mcbenny just a thought you may want to hold off on making anyone else admin until more of a consensus is reached.
I know part of some people's hesitance is to go to any board where "admin" is up in the air cause they want to know ultimately who will have access to their info.

So for now, focus on admins. If you can, go there and try to have the conversation in one place. I'm announcing this thread to help spread the word. |

Guys at the end of the day we NEED to find a way to take out our personal feelings (on all sides) and objectively get this done in a way that includes the most people/communities.
There is 0 way I am ok with Naria getting any satisfaction over our Community (big C, all of us) splintering.

I said this on the other site-I just want to be where all my friends are.....I nominated some people on the politics site but if is here, there, or somewhere else. Also, I don't want to update all my signatures, etc until we "land" somewhere

Current Admins here are Brux, Sterling, You, Enchanted, Hilarity, anarossi, and me. If one or some of these people are no longer interested in Adminning here, I was not told. |

Sorry for the confusion ladies. I was talking about Admins for this site/forum - aplacetomeet. I have done everything that was asked: "McBenny, SM went down we need your forum to go live!" - it did Boards requested were built - by enchanted, AmyG or myself We would like an Admin team - already was talked about in the TCF post. Admins that were made upon request - Enchanted, Brux, Hilarity, anarossi, Frank Spoke to Sterling Friday night I think or Sat night, sorry all a blur. Made her an Admin. (if this is not a diverse group of people I don't know what is). I was told this would be the place. Post went out on IG saying the same. Sunday morning - Boards are being built too fast. What is Amy doing? What is Amy saying? - bent to pressure and took away her Admin privileges which were needed for her to build. In the process I hurt someone I really respect. Later one that day - "Hey, can you step down? We love the forum but don't want you involved..." So, from what I read on the political forum there has been a personal smear campaign about me and my character called in to question. People expressed concerns about their personal info - emails and IP addresses. Emails can be made for message board use. Google IP addresses online and see what kind of information you can really get and tell me what you can do with that. So the sole purpose of a 3rd "neutral" location is to have who you want involved or not. So that being said, I am not going to a 3rd location/forum/site. It is not neutral. This was all personally. So, I am not going to elaborate and drag anyone's name into this big mess. I am just sharing what has happened so people will know what's up. Conclusion - I am not moving. If the majority of the people here move and this results in a ghost town, then so be it. If people choose to stay, his forum will remain up and open to those who want to use it. I would like to avoid the whole HBIC thing and would like an Admin team made up of representatives from the different areas of the forum. Like a checks and balance. Like a tribe has spoken type thing. Sound familiar? This was said from day 1 on TCF. It is also the model for which the other group is moving to. The only thing I spoke against was a vote or election. Why? The smaller groups will be at a disadvantage due to the numbers. So, if anyone is interested in being an Admin here and being on the Admin team, please let me know. If you are interested in being a Mod, please let me know. That you all. So sorry for the confusion. However, people have made this thing a personal thing. There is no issue with this forum but personal ones. |

Working Parents and Special needs went to GBCN. IF has their own forum. A lot of BMBs have made their own forums on PBs. Loss has moved to their own. As for me being nominated, we all know they will not allow me to be involved in any capacity. If that were not the case, then this forum would be acceptable. If people leave this forum, that's up to them. If they choose to stay, that's cool to. I will not be moving on to the so called "neutral" forum. This forum is neutral. There is no reason NOT to use this forum. |
