flamingo We bought Layla the power wheels desert racer thing. I'm hoping she loves it. I bought her babies a car seat so she can take them for a spin. No seat belts, but it's low profile so I'm not worried about tipping and I don't think she can go fast enough in our yard to really need seatbelts. m.toysrus.com/product?productId=92903106

Awww. My friend had one of those. Good memories! I had a red Ferrari. My aunt got it for me and I loved it that thing. I can still remember her and my uncle bringing it over on Christmas day and riding it up and down the sidewalk.

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I think we're going to tell the ILs to go for it. Famous last words, right? I do think B will love it, though.

I think one year my dad did all Christmas shopping at sharper image, it was basically everything in the store the year when Harry met Sally came out (mini car, mini pool table, ping pong) and there's a scene in the store. This was def a post divorce Xmas, aka buy kids all the things, I didn't complain!

So my nephew got a transformer for his bday and it is terrifying. We had to hide the knife that goes in the animals mouth. Gah, how do I prevent j from finding these toys?! Sports and cars and trucks forever please! He also discovered Batman bc we got a Batman book as a gift for someone...we had a good run, sigh. He was mesmerized.

After spending more time than I'd like to admit researching dollhouses and dolls, I finally have N's bday present ordered. The Hearth and Home line came out and almost derailed my plans because I LOVE their dollhouse, but I think N will like the KidKraft one better.

How do you invite preschool and daycare friends? Do you put invitations in their folders/cubbies? Did you invite just a few friends or the whole class?
We won't be inviting the whole class because we're having the party at our house, but I told N she could invite 4 friends from daycare. She's inviting 3 girls and 1 boy. The boys parents never RSVPd last year and I don't know them at all to reach out. Do I try inviting him again? The girls came to her party last year and I somewhat know their parents so it wouldn't be weird having them at our house, but I'm just not sure what to do about inviting the boy. (Side note" I've seen his dad once and omg he is dreamy and has gorgeous eyes so I'd probably stare at him awkwardly, lol)

slenle It may depend on your daycare/preschool policy. Ours doesn't have one so I'll just be putting the invitation in their folders. Some facilities you have to invite the whole class or none at all. In that instance, I'd see about getting email addresses. One of the mom's in M's class put a note in all of the folders requesting email addresses for an evite.

Maybe check into that?

I don't know where you're ordering from but Zullily has kid kraft doll houses as much as 50%off today.
