tgrimes thanks! We had a great one one vacation, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, a little virtuoso one. Ds loves the piano and instrument sounds. He isn't big on animal sounds, which is bizarre considering how much he loves animals.

About once a week, M says he wants a bouncy castle for his birthday. I wasn't going to have a party for him, but I'm thinking about getting a bouncy castle and just inviting a few friends over for a casual celebration. I think he will be disappointed if we do nothing.
A far as gifts, I have no clue what I'm getting him yet. I have a set of walkie talkies and a floor piano that is for Christmas, but if I can't think of anything else, it may end up being for his birthday.

I asked H what she wants for her birthday and she told me she wants her own makeup, a new baby doll and a moana Barbie. Now to decide if I shell out for an American girl doll or not.

lahdeedah Iām in the same place with having a birthday party (or not). B has been talking about it for awhile so I want to do *something* but we are new up here and just donāt know a lot of ppl yet. It was so much easier in FL where my extended family was a built-in party!

Gifts...Iāve been kicking around the idea of a train table for his bday but Iām not sure if that is something heāll outgrow quickly? Any thoughts? I wanted to do it last year but we were trying to avoid any big toys since we had the move looming.
For Christmas heās definitely getting a bike from Santa.
I obviously need some ideas and will be stalking this thread.
I just asked him what he wants and this was his list: -bow and arrow (riiiiight) -guitar -remote control jet plane -remote control boat (for the pool) That all sounds...super annoying.

I wanted to do it last year but we were trying to avoid any big toys since we had the move looming. We did it last year and it really serves us in multiple capacities. Not only trains, but Legos, an art table, a stage for puppet plays. It's also the absolute perfect height for Charlie to play with.

flamingo Maddie got a bow and arrow with rubber suction cups at the Disney Store. Not too annoying but she lost interest fast.

Cass is getting a VTech smart watch for her birthday. I was going to get Maddie roller skates but the next day or hey went up in price and I refuse to pay more when I know how much they used to cost. She was also asking for a Y Scooter and they seem cool but it was more than I was planning to spend for her birthday. Need to get it figured out.

He played with a Nerf gun at my friendās a few weeks back and pointed them out on a recent trip to TRU. I know stuff like that is somewhat inevitable but I need to think on it a bit. At this point I just donāt know if he has the impulse control to not shoot it at the dog, baby, breakables, etc, and I am not into bringing toys into the house that I am constantly having to yell about.

Sorry to resurrect this but I have a question and donāt want to clog the daily. Does anyone have a power wheels-type car or similar?? Thoughts? Safety, size, āworth itā, etc. My ILs are looking at one and DH and I are conflicted. Itās huge and a 2-seater. peachsmama Iām thinking yāall have a John Deere/āGatorā type thing? That is what FIL sent DH a link to. It has a dump bed, etc.

M found the jeep and took it for a spine while I was in California. I think he took a video. I"ll send it to you. M loved it.

flamingo we bought Evie the Barbie Jeep for Christmas 2 years ago. She didn't care much for it when she first got it, but she LOVES it, she wants to ride in it constantly! Make sure and check the battery voltage, I think the 12 volt last longest and can carry more weight, worth the extra expense. And when E was first learning to steer (which has been a process), we really wished we had purchased one that had a remote for parents to take over. At the time, it didn't seem important, but it would have been a nice feature. We have gotten our money out of it, so I would highly recommend!

It says 3-8 but I donāt see 8 y.o. Bradley fitting in it, ha. How long do you see your kids fitting in it? I guess I wonder if the Gator-type vehicle is overkill since we live squarely in Suburbia. If I was buying it Iād probably get him the truck or LandRover version, ha. Does it have seatbelts? Do you feel like itās a tip-hazard?

It doesn't have seat belts, my biggest complaint. When Jack was little and Matthew would make a sharp turn he would almost fall out. Now that eh's older he holds on. I don't think it would be over kill. They love hauling toys around in it. Or now, their cousin since it only has 2 seats lol.

flamingo , we have This One for N and H and they love it! I would recommend getting a 2nd battery to have on hand if it'll be on grass more. The battery lasts a lot longer on pavement, but goes dead pretty quick on grass. My parents have a couple of the john deere gators too, which they love. Check to see if seat belts are included. Our didn't come with them, but DH added them. We don't make N wear one, but H does when he rides along.

I didn't know you could add on the belts, I'll have to see if I can buy them now.

DS1 had no driving skills and I constantly had to chase him so he didn't end up in the street. I hated that thing. DH just took it back out for T. T is apparently more coordinated than his brother and can drive all the way around the block, including turning the corners with no problem so I don't mind it. This one is really low to the ground so it probably can't tip.

MIL bought the girls a used barbie Jeep this spring. H loves it so much. Ours does have seatbelts. We live in town so she mostly drives it on our sidewalk and driveway. Sometimes in the back yard. I would guess she can use it till at least 6/7 but sheās on the smaller size.

We have 2 ride on things. The kids love them. They are both one seaters, but both kids can squeeze in. If I were to choose one it'd be a 2 seater jeep with trunk. Some of our neighbors have that one and it's nice. C takes his out when we go for walks, he just knows to stop when he gets too far ahead or if he hits a street we need to cross.

We don't have one, but S BFF does, and every time we go over there, S wants to play with it. It is a 2 seater and has a seatbelt on it, I don't think I'd let him ride without one. I don't know about an 8 year old, but they have a 6 year old who loves it too.
I would get one but we are saturated with toys and I refuse to get anything else big like that.

Would definitely do that since it doesn't have doors, esp. for C when she's old enough to ride along. jewels Yeah, if this was us buying it, I probably wouldn't, ha. It's one more (very large) thing to make room for and move in 2 years. I hate to kill my ILs' joy, b/c I know they want to do something cool for him. I think a lot of this is motivated by the fact that they don't see him much--I kind of wonder if they're trying to absolve a guilty conscience, not sure. I told DH, I am NOT parking in the driveway so that the Gator can have an indoor spot, LOL. Next house we will need a three car garage so we can house this thing.
