May I join? My husband and I have been trying for our first child since 2011. Last cycle was our first IUI, which was a bust. Today is CD1.
Looks like we are on to round two. Last month we did 5 days letrozole 5mg and then Ovidrel trigger on CD 10 and IUI done 36 hours later. At my monitoring appointment on CD 10 I had two mature eggs, one on left and one on the right. I do have a partially blocked tube on the left side.
So yes... on to cycle two. I will be interested to hear if my RE has any changes to current protocol.

I’m 5dpIUI and tested negative for the trigger. Now just waiting to test again. I am going out of town this weekend, so it might have to wait until next Tuesday.

orangehibiscus - Thanks for getting us started! What's the treatment plan now that your A1C results are in? Will they let you get started since you're so close to the normal range? I need to work on eating better too...especially reducing the carbs - but the anxiety of all of this doesn't help! Food is my love language. ediana2017 - Welcome! We're a pretty informal and friendly bunch! I hope Cycle 2 brings you success! jacks - I feel like your IUI was soooo long ago. It isn't even my two week wait and I'm anxious for time to pass! AFM, CD1 was Saturday, so I started my meds this morning. I'll go in for monitoring on cycle day 13 (next Thursday). I'm hoping the dexamethasone helps my response! It would nice to get more than one mature follicle this go around. fatpony - I totally creeped on your post history, and just want to say congrats on the stellar beta!!!!

Welcome ediana2017! Sorry your IUI was a bust. FX for this one! I have everything crossed for you jacks! I got the green light to start treatments again wisco! I've been really diligent about my eating since last Thursday, and I only got to work out on Friday, and I've lost 5.2lbs already! FX your US goes well! AFM...I took my last BCP yesterday! Now, I'm waiting for CD1 to start, then I'll call the RE. Then I'll start Femara +/- Dexamethasone. I'll start Follistim on CD8. I really hope that I get to actually complete a TI cycle. This is attempt #4, and the other 3 all got cancelled due to poor response. I'm so happy to burn the bench!

ediana2017, So sorry your first IUI was not successful. I hope next time is the charm. The good news is that the chance of success stays the same between IUIs 1-3! ap21ril, Yay for your first IUI cycle getting real! orangehibiscus, YES!! Buh-bye bench. Congratulations on your weight loss, that's incredible. wisco, I hope the steroid makes all the difference. I was bummed never to get more than one follie on Femara, but tons of people definitely have! jacks,I hope your travel is a great distraction to help wait out until POAS...fx for you! AFM...Nexplanon out as of yesterday, waiting and hoping to start Oing some time in the near future. DH is already reminding me to temp and was very excited to "get some sperm in there!" last night lol. He hasn't been through IF before and it's really sweet to be along for the ride as he enjoys the start of this process. Funny (I guess?) story...the GYN (whom I'd never met before) commented, "You're 32? Well, you're not SO OLD that I'd tell you to go straight to the infertility specialists..." Um, thanks. First, guess he had no idea I've already done years of treatment, but second, what the heck? DH was sobered by the comment and said he understands better why I want to get a move on to hopefully have time for a couple kids, even though we haven't been married long. But I'm flagging it as an inappropriate thing to say to a 32 year old patient.

I was really crampy yesterday and am feeling pretty defeated today as a result. With that in mind, would testing tomorrow morning at 8dpIUI have any chance of turning a stick it it was successful?

Anecdote, but I've seen a shhhhhhadow of a line on an 8dpIUI test before. HOWEVER, my advice would be to REALLY think about how it will influence your mood for the next week. Are you going to obsess about the line getting darker at a sufficient rate until you can get betas? Are you going to feel completely devastated if there isn't a line? I'm trying to convince myself to stay strong an not test until all real 13dpIUI next cycle, because I drove myself cray cray last cycle with all the peeing on all the sticks (starting at about 8 days out).

sunshiney - Aren't husbands cute when they are all naive about the process? I'm glad he's excited though! It helps give a fresh perspective to it all! But your GYN, SERIOUSLY? Stop making us feel like we're old and our ovaries are about to shrivel up!

jacks When I obsessively search Fertility Friend charts, there's an 8DPO BFP once in a blue moon, so technically possible if implantation happened early, the test is very sensitive, the urine is concentrated...but I'm with wisco, maybe try and predict how you'd feel after a BFN compared to not testing? It could be nice to take a test where a BFN can easily be explained away as too early instead of feeling devastating, and it does feel good to "do" something while just waiting. Personally, I hate when AF comes and I didn't get a chance to test yet (weird maybe), and the BFNs along the way tend to help me get ready for AF, but I usually start at 10DPO. However, that also adds to obsessive thinking about it which doesn't help emotionally.

Thank you sunshiney! I hope you O soon! Turning a test at 8DPO is rare, but possible jacks. FX for you! AFM... Today is CD2, so I will start Femara tomorrow! I had to have the DHEAS test redrawn yesterday because the tube was cracked last week, and the blood leaked out. Depending on the DHEAS results, I may need to take Dexamethasone with the Femara. I start injections middle of next week. Monitoring US is on 10/16!!

It absolutely has wisco. That's one of the side effects. It can also make you swell and make you have increased hunger and thirst. Dex didn't help my energy though

wisco I didn’t hold out well. Tested day 8 and 9 with negatives. I’m out of town on a girls trip and have no self control, so I brought 2 more to try again tomorrow and Monday.

Thanks for all the good thoughts! I had a great weekend away.
But today was CD1, so I guess we’re moving on to the last IUI cycle.
How is everyone else doing in their cycles?

So sorry for CD 1 jacks. Big hugs! I'm chugging along on Femara. My last dose is tomorrow, thankfully. Femara gives me headaches. I start Follistim on Wednesday night. RE's office says they want me to inject it between 8 and 10pm. Not sure why. RE also said she doesn't want me using OPKs because she doesn't like them for PCOS patients and thinks they can be confusing. They've always worked for me, but I'll humor her. She didn't say that I couldn't temp, so I'm doing that. I'm ready to start Follistim, but I am a bit nervous about injecting myself. I've done tons on other people though for work, so it should be easier. I can't wait to actually make it to the trigger shot though. I've had the same trigger shot in my fridge since February because all our other TI cycles have been cancelled. So excited to be doing treatments and being back to TTC again.

So sorry, jacks. I'm glad your trip was great, though! orangehibiscus Ugh Femara headaches are obnoxious, mine stopped the day or so after the lase dose though and I hope yours do too! Good luck with your injection, I bet after getting past that first one you'll feel like a pro.

Thanks sunshiney! The headaches have always stopped after the last dose, so I'm sure they will this time too.

I'm sorry jacks! I'd been cramping all weekend, so wasn't as surprised yesterday that my CD 10 u/s showed 3 follicles at 18, 16 and 15! Lining was at a 7. RE said if I had another negative OPK today (it was) to trigger tonight, IUI is scheduled for Thursday at 930. So fingers crossed for 2-3 nice follicles and good lining Thursday. I'm a little surprised he didn't have me trigger yesterday when the chances of getting 3 was smaller, he is usually fairly conservative and warned us quite a bit the cycle I had 3 follicles for TI.

orangehibiscus I've been stalking to see when your u/s is and it's coming up! This is the first cycle you've used follistim, right? And that is weird about the OPK thing; just make sure if you temp that once you O if you're on progesterone it can cause a triphasic chart (I learned that the hard way after getting excited..).

US is Monday ap21ril! Yes, this is my first cycle with Follistim. I thought the OPK thing was weird too, but whatever. I'm not on progesterone after O, but I do know it can raise temps. Are you excited about IUI tomorrow?
