Is the firm bulge usually the head? If so then yeah pretty sure this baby is breech. The firm bulge for me is the butt.

Should i be concerned that only one of my feet/ankles swell? It goes away though today is the worst it has been so far (still better than most get though) but it's only the left that swells. Eta the right might be veeery slightly swollen, nothing compared to the left. I had the same issue, as did a friend of mine, so anecdotally, totally normal 😄 Elevation, water, and rest! Since I started working from home, I've avoided the huge swelling I had from work (and trying to wear professional shoes).

I'm not caught up but I'll work on it. Today was long, I went with my mom OOT to see my grandpa who is not doing well but has refused to move into assisted living. Good thing we went, he had a mild seizure while we were there and ended up in ER. I didn't get home until 10:30, I'm so tired but my brain won't let me relax. Ok end rant, I just really needed to word vomit somewhere.

laurensc927- swelling is one of those things that may or may not be something to worry about. I’ve had swelling on one side and everything was perfectly fine, but swelling on one side can be an indicator of a blood clot. You should put a call into your doctor so that they know, if it goes down my guess it’s likely nothing, but I’m not a doctor.

librarylady- My initial thought was for you to bring A to school, but as I was writing my post I changed my stance. I think your H is right. Have her skip Monday, I think not seeing you for days after you drop her off is likely to set her back more than missing a day. It’s not something you want to take the chance of her correlating with school. I’ll be scheduling my RCS on Friday (I think). I’m still unsure of what to do with A. DD1 will have her at night so H can stay at the hospital, as for the day, she may end up at the hospital with us all day while DD1 is at work. DD1 is still anti anything to do with this baby, so H will need to drive to pick A up and drop her off (about 50 mikes each way). DD1 lives in the city we just moved from, so it’s possible I can have one of my friends that are close by her watch A during the day, but I feel like that’s a lot to ask. Ideally I’d just fly my sister out from Chicago, but even my paying her for flight, she can’t afford to take any time off work.

DD's head down.
I feel her hiccups on the bottom left, big bulge (bum?) on top left and kicks to the top right. Don't really feel anything to the bottom right unless I'm laying on my right side, and she's beating up my insides in protest, I don't think she likes the right side. We constantly fight about it as it's my favourite side and she doesn't like it, so it's just me putting up with hips/ribs kicks until I give up and roll over and she chills out lol.
She's definitely already as stubborn as her brother.
Speaking of her brother, he screamed and was crying again when we left him at nursery. Uuuuuugh my heart
Also, 6 days until my parents are back from Mexico, CANNOT wait I miss my mum so much lol

I haven't heard anything yet, but I suspect baby is already here (her first labor was speedy). She was going to be induced anyway for some other medical things and I think she would have been 36 weeks today. So overall, everything should be alright. I'll update when I hear anything!

mrspiatt thanks for the thoughts! I think we are leaning towards having her miss. I wish we could have A at the hospital but the hospital bans all younger siblings under 12 from visiting. I literally won't get to see her until I'm discharged ☹️

That stinks about the hospital librarylady. During flu season my hospital bans visitors under 12 except for siblings, luckily. Is there a chance your doctor would discharge you early if everything checks out ok? I know some around my area will if asked but others are more strict on that.

beefinch sorry about your DS, I can definitely relate. Although today was the first time in weeks that my DS didn’t cry/tantrum at daycare drop off so hopefully that phase is over! It definitely tugs at your heartstrings.

bubbles, sorry to hear about your grandfather! Not sure who recommended the nightgowns from Target (and am too lazy to go back and search), but a huge thank you!! So soft and comfortable!! I also picked up a robe for the hospital that was lighter weight (mine are all terry/heavy) and covers my rear so I can get out of bed without flashing everyone! Finally, I'm ready to not get asked everyday when I am due / have to deal with questions from strangers. Getting a pedicure and have fielded a lot of questions already. Just want to sit in peace please!

Had an OB appointment this morning. She said everything looks great. She wants to do an ultrasound in 2 weeks just to look at everything since I haven't had one since the 20 week scan. She was trying to think of a "reason" for the insurance for the ultrasound since there really isnt one, but she said she's gonna use my low weight gain as an excuse. She said its not a bad thing at all (I've only gained 7-8 pounds this time, which is technically still in the range of the 10 I initially lost when I was super sick first trimester). Excited to finally see baby on ultrasound again!

My friend had her baby within two hours of telling me she was in labor! Mom and baby are doing great. Her son is the same weight as DS was when he was born. She was a team green turned team blue he is beautiful and now I cannot wait for my own monkey to decide it's his or her turn!

bubbles I'm sorry, I know how hard it is when older adults stick their ground about living independently. Are there independent living facilities around where he lives? Its not the level of assisted living, but he will still be checked on daily and there are activities/amenities. His local meals on wheels is another option for at least someone to check on him daily if he is completely unwilling to move. I've worked with homebound older adults and FWIW, most do better (live longer, healthier, and happier) living independently as long as they are safe in their homes and have accommodations (nursing care, food, companion phone calls, transportation, etc) set up. It's more complicated for the family but there are definitely organizations that can help walk you through the process. Look into his local area agency on aging. They usually can send a case worker out who will do an assessment and provide resources.

roloma yeah I can see keeping other kids out except for siblings like your hospital does. I feel irritated at mine but I know they are just trying to protect the newborns so I can't complain too much. That's a good idea. I will definitely ask my Dr about early discharge. I don't know if they have to be more strict with a csection.

beefinch sorry about drop off drama. Do you know if he instantly gets over it once you leave? I've hear some kids always cry at drop off but are fine the rest of the time. My DD has just now stopped crying at drop off for preschool.

I'm going to try to remember to get something just for the mom at every baby shower I go to. The last one I got her some bath salts. I just think it's a nice touch.

My DD has just now stopped crying at drop off for preschool. He cries for maybe 5 minutes. I actually wait outside his nursery room and I can still hear him crying and screaming Mummy. The door has windows so after I hear his crying stop I just peak to make sure he's ok, and he's normally cuddling one of the care workers while they are distracting him with cars. Argh just breaks my heart thinking about it again lol. He's 100% fine when I pick him up, always playing with the kids and a massive smile for me. I just wish he could understand that I'm not leaving you forever I ALWAYS come back. This is his 4th week. He only goes Tuesday and Thursdays 9-11:30, as that's all he needs since it's just really so he can socialise with other kids his age and so I can have time off. H being there always makes him worse (he's more attached to Daddy) but when the baby comes it's going to be H that does the drop offs on his way to work (it's down the road) so he needs to get used to Daddy doing it. But for some reason he screams my name not for Daddy. I wouldn't be so heartbroken if he was screaming Daddy I would let H deal with the heartbreak 😂

I think we are week 6 or 7 here. She only recently was able to make it the full three hours; they are really good about calling if there is too much crying, which I like. I am worried that new baby will mess up the good progress we have made. MH will probably be doing drop off and pick up too once baby comes since he works from home and you have to wait a bit to drive after a c-section. FX they both handle the change well!
