It seems like we've been having quite the baby boom, and it's not even October yet! What are you all up to this weekend?

Our weekend started off alright - just trying to make sure I have as much done as possible for work, so I can enjoy my maternity leave with minimal interference from the office. I'm also trying to enjoy the last of my one-on-one time with DS. We snuggled together and read a few books today on the couch - it was really nice and I made myself stop and take in the moment.
Tomorrow DH is going to take DS swimming, and I'm hoping to finish as much of DS2's baby book as I can. Maybe we'll watch a movie. Exciting times over here....😅🤓

I have a massage this morning and like Taitai just enjoying the last one-on-one time with DD! Technically I'm scheduled to work 2 days this upcoming week (my last 2) so we'll see what happens! I'm ready for baby to come whenever, kinda hoping for early (39 weeks today) to not have the baby on thanksgiving weekend (Canada so next weekend)

Also I'm so out of it I posted my bitching and moaning in the Friday thread instead of this one. I'll summarize: newborns are f'ing hard work.

I just read Babies Everywhere! And thought this was another birth announcement. Lol
I'm heading to the new house to help H unpack some more. I don't know how much we'll get done though. I can't lift heavy things still and H's back has been bothering him. So we're a couple of hot messes.

DD and I ran some errands this morning before grabbing lunch (Chipolte!!!!) and coming home for her nap. I have been super crampy and had a ton of weird pressure but it all still feels like braxten hicks. I slept terrible last night due to it all so either my body better get it in gear and move things along or just stop so I can sleep and keep on keeping on. I'm 38 weeks today (exactly when I had DD) so I'm not opposed to a baby coming this week but I'd really like some sleep first......

Just hanging out this weekend. It dawned on me today that this is our last full weekend as just a family of two! Next weekend if baby isn't here, H will have duty either Saturday or Sunday, so he will be gone part of that weekend. Then he leaves for 4 weeks and she will certainly be here by time he gets home. How are we celebrating our last weekend child free? Doing absolutely nothing

I'm trying to balance nesting and spending quality time with DD. If baby stays in until her eviction date, we have 2 weeks left as a family of 3- trying to soak it all in! Also trying to clean up the mess of a house so we can actually fit the baby :-P

We took DS to watch an IMAX about engineering because he loves to build and says he wants to be a builder when he's older. Then we went to the aquarium and rainforest cafe for lunch. Now we are home and DS is outside collecting snails.

Sorry I have been absent...the transition to two kids has been really hard for my toddler (and thus really hard for me and MH). My LO also has a suspected heart defect, so I am highly anxious and stressed for her. We'll know more on Friday.
I am loving all these September babies! 😍😍

bubblefan im sorry to hear the transition has been rough. I don't have experience going to 2 (yet) but hopefully your toddler and everyone will find their groove soon and it feels like you've always been a family of 4. Sending good thoughts to you as you await more info on the new little one.

I woke up feeling ok and then went back to sleep. I thought I caught what H had, he's all better today but I started feeling feverish. I'm not 100% but feeling well enough to go to our friends restaurant opening. It's a soft opening friends and family type thing. I'm looking forward to all the foods... their restaurants usually have amazing desserts too.

Spent the morning shopping with DS since DH was working from home today. Got comments on my pregnancy from basically every random person that saw me. It was exhausting but DS was very cooperative so it worked out. I took him out for ice cream while we were out as a mommy-son date which felt bittersweet.
DH let me take a nap while DS napped which was much appreciated! He's done working now so we're just chilling for the rest of the weekend.

We're taking it easy over here and trying to get some last minute things ready for bubs. I cannot believe that in less than 48 hours we'll get to see fella#2. I am really not too sure how I've held on being 3cm dilated and 80% effaced almost 2 weeks ago! I mean I must have progressed somehow? Well last night, hubs and I had a sorts of date night at home; he trimmed my toenails and we had popcorn and watched a couple of episode of TWD so that was nice. This am, we woke up to our house shrouded in mist and DS and I made crepes again for breakfast; he has an obsession with them now. We spent the morning putting together the rock and play, laundry and just hanging out reading and playing. He's napping now and hubs is outside doing the never-ending landscape work. House reno is progressing slowly but surely, our carpenter actually took off from his other big project and worked on our office the last couple of days and we're so appreciative of him. He also stayed for dinner one of the days. Such a nice person and we're so so sad that he isn't available to work on finishing our basement but we'll likely have him work on some custom cabinetry though which I think he is willing and prefers and really does a stellar job. I feel much better now that I've managed to clear the top of our bureau and set up the diapering area and have gotten everything washed. I also finished DS' yoda hat! and I just have to get his robe sewn either tonight or tomorrow and I didn't think about it but I need to get hubs Jedi knight robe completed before halloween too. Dinner was delicious, service was slow which is to be expected on a soft opening and like I expected dessert was amazing. My belly is full and feels uncomfortable, like it's stretching so the food and baby can fit.
On the ride home H had a lightbulb go off in his brain that we could have a new baby any day. Like obviously he knows I'm pregnant and my due date, but It didn't really hit him until tonight when I was talking about being done work, my schedule for the week, his parents flying in on Wednesday and other plans. He asked me if I packed his bag, 😂, dude it's not your first kid and I've done everything else, you're on your own on that one.

Current pregnancy status:
H found a half melted (wrapped) piece of candy in the sofa cushions and I got very excited.
It was delicious.

duskymonkey - That Yoda hat is adorable! I wish I was crafty like you - I'm impressed! bubblefan I'm sorry the transition to 2 has been hard for your toddler. I'm worried about the same thing myself. Also - so sorry about the suspected heart defect with LO. I am sure that is stressful. I'll be hoping and praying it is nothing serious and you have a solid plan forward from the doctors on Friday. bootsorhearts1 That pic is adorable!!!! She is so so cute and I love the name too . Hopefully things settle into a routine soon and calm down a bit. You are so right - newborns are really hard. August Blooms Your H made me think of:

The nurses and LC at the hospital kept telling me to expect my milk to come in Friday but it didn't until Saturday evening so I've been waiting... You forget just how painful it is though.
