Good morning. Just got home from my doctor. I'll be staying off work until January. She doesn't think I'm gonna have any more trouble with my hip but recognized that just coming off my Prednisone does put me at risk for a flare up, and she could see how terrified I was about it, so we decided that staying home a bit longer would be in my best interest. I seriously feel 1000lbs lighter. She recommemded some physio in case my lingering pain is more muscular, and suggested a support group for people living with chronic illness.

Busy morning here so far. Therapy at 8. Then the backsplash people were here at 9 to finish up and put in the grout. I hope it’s quick because I’m ready to have my house back in order. Everything that was on the counter is split between the morning room and my dining room. I haven’t even had coffee in two days!

danib what a relief! Did you ever have a real talk with MIL about her true feelings and final offer for caring for the boys? I know you were pursuing other options, just didn't know if you got the low down from MIL.

danib that's really great, must be such a relief! So my nanny is sick and the backup care "benefit" that DH's work provides is a fucking joke. It's almost 10:00 and they still haven't gotten a placement for the kids. So looks like I'll be taking a day off that I really can't afford to take.

As predicted, we're here for once. Both kids are pretty snotty today so definitely staying home today and probably tomorrow, too. At least my mom will be around tomorrow. Today she is subbing at her old school. I'm trying to think of how best to entertain the littles today since it's also rainy. Hmm... So, I've been doing a lot. Trying to get my house in order when we are home. Cleaning baseboards, dusting off everything, washing everything, scrubbing down areas that tend to be neglected, etc. I also have been running a diaper drive for hurricane victims that ends Friday. I'm organizing volunteers for two events, one related to the diaper drive and one as a thank you to my neighborhood's HOA. I also am running a Fantasy Football League that we are doing for charity (winner donates the money we collect to a charity they choose). I also have been working with the other board members on a photo release form/implementing a policy and organizing an event for a neighboring city that doesn't have it's own club chapter, but wants one. We are planning a meet and greet with interested moms to tell them how the organization works and then another chapter is having a more formal event to explain how to run a chapter more in depth for people interested in being on the first board. It's a lot of emailing and going around collecting things really. We still do our daily activities. Lillian started gymnastics again and is loving it. We have been doing walks in the morning when it isn't too hot so I'm getting some good exercise and fresh air. I'm trying to start a walking group, but it's been challenging getting everyone on the same page. I'm also tutoring twice a week. Which is a nice bit of extra money, but all of it has to go toward the dental work I need done. Boo. We started sleep training finally last week and it's paying off this week. Lilah has started to put herself down and has been sleeping longer which is excellent. She still wakes up once or twice a night, but it's fine. Well that was a novel. Here's a treat and some wine (even though it's still the morning).

Omg danib that's WONDERFUL!! What did you end up picking waitwhat?! How exciting. I hope you love it so much. So sorry dashook. Of course that couldn't have happened on Monday when you weren't able to access anything anyway. You're doing the most classymrsa. Omg. But boo about dental work. Such a necessary evil. Why do they all ask questions with their hands in my mouth?!!

Last night...was a night. M finally fell asleep at 9:45. 9 MF 45. No crying during that timeframe at least so I'll give her that. She woke up at 10:15 and I wanted to die, but she put herself back to sleep. I became extremely optimistic about how the rest of the night was going to go. And then she woke up at 12:15 and screamed like she has never screamed before. And if I would touch her she just get louder. So I let her lie there and just go off because I had no idea what else to do until she started choking and gasping. As soon as we got out to the kitchen she saw the cow figurine on the window sill and she relaxed. Suctioned her nose, brought her to the bedroom, and as soon as she saw where she was going she grasped hard onto me with every part of her body and started audibly breathing fast. ????? She was terrified. Is she having nightmares? Maybe that's why she's already crying when she wakes up MOTN? Idk. Doesn't matter. Every week I have a new excuse and it's annoying.
Anyway. Of course I nursed her because it's 1:45 at this point and I'm pooped. She at for a good 20 minutes. So maybe she was yelling because she was hungry? Don't know. I know there supposed to be done with MOTN feedings at this point, but she still isn't eating much of any real food during the day. And she's dropping percentiles in weight so maybe I shouldn't worry about the night feeds for now?
I know she woke up more during the night but I can't tell you how often or when.

sophiegrace we picked a gray subway tile! So far I love it, which is good because I was afraid it was going to be a little dark. But I can’t wait to see it all completed!

classymrsa, I’m not doing a third of that and I feel like I have no time ... just wow! dashook, what is backup care? How is it supposed to work? sophiegrace, L is also low in weight percentile (4%) so I always assume he’s hungry when he wakes up in the MOTN. I’m starting to try to get L to nap in his crib and day 1 sucks! Between the long vent to DH (posted in mental health check) him wanting to DTD, and us having no time alone, me never getting a break and realizing I have a birthday party/ Halloween/ early thanksgiving to plan has me biting my nails!

sophiegrace That is really rough. I'm sorry. I'm not sure about nightmares, but Lilah gets really tense when I go to set her down in her crib. We've also had some weird nights where she wakes up screaming, but will not stop for like 30 minutes no matter what. It's very odd. As for night feedings, I still nurse Lilah 2 times most nights. Lillian nursed twice a night until she was well over a year old. Mine are both itty bitty things so I let them eat as much as they want, but I'm also in the "nurse as much as your baby and you want" camp anyway.

I know you were pursuing other options, just didn't know if you got the low down from MIL. I didn't. DH spoke to her and their conversation was 100% different (like very "of course I want to help as much as possible" just may not be able to right away, lets wait and see, I'm sad I don't see them as much as I used to, etc). So I'm just gonna leave it as is and work at finding a reliable option in town.

That's so exciting waitwhat. I can't wait to see pictures! Cheshie6 Day 1 really is hard. I was almost in tears and wanted to stop. I'm glad I powered through because she is doing so much better now. She still cries some, but it's not much and she's sleeping way better.

My new attorney just asked me to do a shit ton of extra work just because he doesn't want to flip pages. I provided him with printouts of everything he needed. He has to compare defendants on a petition to defendants on title work. He wants me to type up each of them in word or excel. There's over 60 in each so.....no.
Then he tells me that's why he has assistants.
Look, fucker. I'm not your assistant.
Funny thing is, if he was actually busy, I'd consider doing it. But he's told me a million times this month he doesn't have anything to do. I also gave him all of this before I went on vacation in August.
End rant.

That's great news danib ! Holy crap classymrsa ! You are a magical unicorn. I don't know how you do it. I'm sorry Cheshie6 . Sleep struggles are not fun. sophiegrace C really hates when he knows it's bedtime. Our whole calm and soothing routine is just him screaming through it now. There have also been a few times that I thought C was have bad dreams because he would wake up so sad. I hated it. I don't really have any advice but I hope you have better luck tonight. tgrimes Hell no to that guy.

waitwhat I want to see a picture! I think my kitchen could use a refresh and backsplash would be an easy one. Grey subway tile would def be on my list. classymrsa I am very impressed (as usual) with your involvement and obviously good time management! danib boo to your MIL and DH tgrimes eff off new attorney. Quit being a lazy bum! sophiegrace I am also torn between wanting to wean done nighttime feeds but feeling bad because she still doesn't eat a lot of table food My other thought for you, does she have an ear infection? Didn't she recently have a cold? Or was that a stomach bug? But maybe that's worth checking out?
