So I'm having a bit of a scary morning.
On my way in, I started seeing a spot in my vision, like I'd seen a bright light and had a floater, except I hadn't and it didn't go away. By the time I got out of the metro it was getting worse as I walked to my office (like the edge of my vision was super blurry and walking was making me dizzy/nauseous), so I immediately called my doctor. While I was waiting for a call back, I put my feet up and drank about half a liter of water and started feeling much better. They called back and said to give them a call back around 11/1130 - it sounds like they think I was either dehydrated or hungry (I ate around 730/8pm last night and hadn't had anything since*). They told me to rest as much as I can and eat some breakfast, and if I still feel dizzy or see the spots again I'm to call back. I felt a little woozy still heading to the bathroom and to get milk for my cereal, but hoping I will even out. Trying to not freak but I have felt some movement since I started drinking water so that's helping. (ETA: no cramping or spotting.)
(*I had a bit of a meltdown when I got home from work last night. Once the crying fit ended I was suddenly starving and wanted a burger so I got McDonald's. Not the best but given my food/water intake the last few days has been erratic - thank you iron - I felt like it would be ok lol. I was full after dinner and went to bed after SVU.)

cakewench I'm sorry for the scary morning. I hope everything settles down, but don't hesitate to go in if you feel like you need to be checked out.

I do have a bit of a low grade headache, not bad enough to need painkillers but enough to be aware of it. Sitting at my computer (two screens) does not seem to be helping, though, which furthers the migraine possibility. I've had migraines before, but never experienced aura. I just looked it up and it was VERY similar to what I was experiencing this morning. I am clearing my afternoon and hopefully will just go home and rest, to be safe. Felt more movement after I ate so that's also good.

We have the crib and a dresser, car seat, and diapers so Iβm guessing we are good if something crazy happens. Iβll be 31w in Friday so this kid could be here in 5 weeks. That is scary. Iβm trying not to buy everything off our registries. I am going to a big consignment sale Friday though. Iβll probably look for books, jammies, and maybe a tummy time mat since the one on our registry is already discontinued.....anything else I should be looking for? Rock and play? Swing? Nursing pillow? Sounds like you are well prepared, but I'd snag the above items if I found a good deal. Someone already bought the RNP and a boppy from our registry and my old boss gave us his swing (and high chair) too since heβs done having kids. He has also told us if we have a girl to not worry about clothes for awhile since his youngest is a Dec 16 baby. Iβm all like, yes I like free things.

We just now had to buy some 3T items for my daughter because the hand me downs we were given were the wrong season. But she has been set for clothes up to this point which has been so helpful. cakewench, I'm glad you are feeling better! It's the scariest thing when your vision is messed up. I sometimes get ocular migraines, which is the spots and flashes of light in my vision only without the headache. Mine are triggered by dehydration and stress, and usually go away after 20 mins or so if I can lie down and drink some water.

Nursing pillow, I preferred the Brestfriend for nursing but boppy was nice for propping the baby up with. A pnp? Are you doing crib right away or starting with a bassinet? Pnp is a good option for the interim too. If the consignment doesn't happen often, some other things for like 4-5 months old is a bumbo seat and exersaucer. And high chair if you have storage space. All of these later things I would also see if there is a local FB mom sale group you could buy cheap when you need them.

Stress and fatigue are huge triggers for migraines. People can have different triggers but these are some of the most common. If you are all like me, fatigue is a major issue right now.

My kid hated the bumbo and would only use the sit-me-up, so if you can try them out that would be best. I also couldn't use MBF because it pushed me too far forward and I preferred the Boppy. It's so hard to know before they get here b/c it's such a preference thing. I totally 2nd looking on re-sale sites for just about anything in the first couple years b/c they won't use any one item for very long. If you have friends who've had babies borrowing is also a good idea. We lent out the RnP, the swing, the sit me up, and a couple of playmats to friends.

New random: Dear Baby - Every kick/punch/hiccup/whatever is amazing and reassures me that you are moving around and doing OK. That said - Mommy's bladder is not a soccer ball, and her cervix is not a trampoline. Love you - Mom

I'm late cakewench (and glad you're feeling better) but I echo the others who talked about the possibility of a migraine. I get ocular migraines exclusively, (without any headache pain) and they tend to feature a combination of "waterfall" and "narrowing black hole" vision - my terms, ha. The first time I had one I thought I was dying. Now I know just to sit down and wait it out, and usually a half hour later it goes away. That said, it could also be the McDonald's I love it so (and Taco Bell!), but pay for it every time.

Well, it's official. We just scheduled this kid's eviction date. Looks like December 6th he gets the boot! As long as I don't go into labor naturally I will have my RCS on that date. N was 5 days early so I hope this one stays put until we get him.

I had an appointment today for a US and regular OB appointment. Good news is placenta has moved! Yay!! Bad news is they found baby girl has an intranasal cyst, so I have to go back to the MFM. The NP said she wasn't overly concerned but she wants them to have a look to be on the safe side. Trying not to look up what could cause them and if I should worried.
I also asked her about induction and when they would consider doing one...since H will be deployed and his boss has already ok'd him being here for the birth we're trying to plan if at all possible. She said she would work on getting me induced on my due date if the on call OB will approve it. So hopefully Dec 11 is the day we get to meet this little lady! π

Hi ladies, sorry I haven't been around much. I'm back to work/kid's crazy sport schedules. I'm doing ok now that the freak heat wave we had at the beginning of the week has ended. My classroom was pushing 95 degrees for 3 days. It was horrible. cakewench glad you are ok. I have been getting migraines with auras since I was 9 but I don't get them when pregnant. sarahandben108 I'm jealous you have a date. My hospital won't scheduled until I'm 36 weeks. I'm a teacher and my kids are super sweet but extremely needy this year (first year middle school for them) and my schedule is to teach 5 classes in a row then have the last 2 periods off. It's really draining. On the plus side, DH got a raise and I was approved to take off from Thanksgiving until September of 2019! My due date was moved up to December 23rd so I should for sure be home for Christmas since I should be scheduled a week before and 2 out of 3 times I went into labor even earlier. I need to get moving, so far we have done absolutely nothing to prepare for this baby.

I cannot wait for my growth scan next week. I just did kick counts for the hell of it (she's so active lately that I haven't been bothering to do them at a set time) and I got to 10 in less than 30 seconds. I think I might be gestating a squid.

officedronette I have a growth scan tomorrow and I'm super excited too! The girls were measuring 67th percentile last scan so I'm curious how big they are now. Double the movement is crazy too!

Double the movement is crazy too! I can only imagine! I've had that thought a few times - man, if I'm this uncomfortable and she's going this nuts and there's just one of her, what on earth does it feel like to carry multiples. Hats off to you, lady!!

I went to my first biophysical profile appointment last Friday and scheduled all my appointments with the mfm through November while I was there. I have 19 pregnancy related appointments in the next two months. Yikes!
I have a midwife appointment today and am hoping to schedule my induction.

So my 2 year old pushed really hard on my belly yesterday (she was pushing off me to get off the sofa) and I definitely googled to see if a 30 lb child could hurt the baby that way - apparently there are a lot of STMs who have had toddlers jump on their belly during pregnancy and asked the same question. The TL:dr summary is apparently there is enough insulation that the baby is well-protected and you only need to worry about things like falls or car accidents. But if in doubt, always good to ask your OB. I'm feeling movement today and no pain so I'm not worried. But I guess I need to protect my belly more around her!

So it turns out I can't schedule my induction until a week beforehand. Oh well, I was hoping to have it set in stone. My mfm said I can decide when I want it, anywhere between 37-39 weeks, so I think I'm going to try to do December 5th.
