I'm having a hard time getting into the school year this year. I guess because I'll be out for four and a half months in the middle of it. I'm still working hard, I'm just not really excited about it.

I'm doing Ok this school year. Mostly I'm trying to navigate the physical part with feeling like crap. Last year I had a terrible class and felt sick all say long. So really the end of the year was a wash. This year's class is so much better, but I am having more difficulty physically just getting around, sleeping, etc.. It's amazing how different this pregnancy is compared to my last. Last time it seemed much easier. I'm only 4 years older and yet I feel 100 years older. I feel like such a complainer this time around.

This time I’m exhausted and sore and whiney already. Ugh. Hope you at least have a good class this time!

I'm super excited for October and ready to put up Halloween decorations! Next week I'm going to our town's "Witches Night Out". There's treats and martini tasting at a bunch of different shops. I won't be partaking in the martinis this year obviously, but it will be a fun girls night out.
Also, our master bath and bedroom renovation is nearly done. Contractors have some finishing touches to do, need to texturize and paint some new drywall, and then clean the hell up (our bedroom has been storing all of their stuff and is SO dirty) today because new carpet is being installed in our bedroom tomorrow! Shower glass is being installed Thursday, and that should be the end of it. Of course then my H is starting demo on the front bathroom this weekend so it'll probably be another 3 weeks before it's all done. But I can't wait to have my bedroom back!

Is anyone else freaking out as the weeks countdown approaches single digits?! Me. Remember a few weeks ago when the question was "what's surprised you about this pregnancy?" and my answer was "oh, la la la I don't even care about labor and the birth process, everything will be great and totally cool." Someone punch that woman in the face for me. I'm scared shitless about how to get this kid out of me.

sarahandben108, you're four years older and you're caring for another human. I remember coming home and resting after work or doing a workout. Now I come home and chase a toddler (also a workout) and attempt to deal with her shitty sleep. I'm fucking exhausted. Plus my first kid already broke my body so it's like this one is just ensuring it will never be the same again. typo31, welp it'll get out of you one way or the other. For me not having a plan was key b/c I was induced at 37 and it didn't at all go the way I expected. It is nice knowing I won't go any longer than 39 so I can process that in my brain this time around.

I'm grumpy. I feel really emotionally drained, I'm finding it hard to concentrate at work, and I'm just not feeling myself. I know it's the parasite living inside of me, but it's difficult.

I'm sorry you are going through a rough time with the sleep kensie5226,. I know I hope to god this kid is a better sleeper then his brother but we'll see. I agree it was a lot easier when we didn't have a small person to look after as well and could sit on our asses. There is a light in the end of our tunnel though.

typo31, I agree with kensie5226,. just have no plan or major expectations about the birth. It happens as it happens. My sister tried to have a VBAC with her second child because she felt like she missed out on something with her first (ended with a csection after hours of pushing. The baby was basically stuck) and STILL ended with another csection. I would seriously only decide early if you are thinking you may want an epidural or not. I know in my hospital it made a difference when they started an IV line to know upfront. Once you start labor all bets are off.

Now that I have 9 weeks left, we (as in my husband because who am I kidding) have started to finally work on this new baby's nursery. There is still loads of crap in the room but its down from a metric ton of crap to just loads. And we have a crib and dresser/changing table! Now "we" just need to hook up the new ceiling fan so that we can pick the paint color. Since it is gender neutral, we are going with a mint wall, then white, grey, and navy. If its a girl, we will add coral flower accents.

We managed to get the room painted and big stuff set up. I have nothing wsahed or put away, but thankfully I know he won't live in his room for the first 6 months anyway.

Add me to the "I'm only [2.5] years older why on Earth is this so much harder" club. I feel essentially useless, everywhere. I'm so tired that basic tasks, like feeding myself, feel overwhelming. Especially combined with the GD.
Had my "diabetes education" visit today with the nurse, which went well. Got flu shot, but not TDaP, because TDaP was still not stocked.
I'm looking forward to being in the single digits - I want to meet D and hopefully get my energy back. I remember feeling better after labor/c-section than I had in WEEKS (except for when a rude nurse messed up my pain med schedule, that was not nice).

I'll join the it's much harder this time around club. Pregnancy makes me feel old!
Sorry I've been awol lately - I had family visiting and then we went out of town for my DD's birthday. Then DD developed a neverending cold. Just got some antibiotics and a steroid for her nebulizer so hopefully she can kick it. And work has been a combination of busy with actual work and busy trying to figure out my replacement(s) and training process for maternity leave. Interviews are so mentally draining. I think we may have found someone though-fx my boss approves when he meets her tomorrow.

Our crib arrived on Friday and right now it's just sitting in the box in our living room (we can't do anything with the baby's room until after the shower next weekend, because it's the guest room and my bro/SIL/nephew are staying with us). It really hit home that we have less than three months to go and there will be a baby in that crib. It's super weird.
We don't have nearly enough done, but right now we need to focus on getting through next weekend. The rest of the baby furniture is being delivered Saturday so we'll have everything on hand once the guests leave and we can get rid of everything that was in the guest room (almost none of it is worth keeping, mattress is super old and the dressers are too, one from each of us predating... dating).

Is this where i admit that I have nothing done for this kid's room and no furniture? Well, I have a pack n play and a rock n play but we haven't bought the crib and bureau yet or have done anything to the room. We have family coming next week and will be staying in the new baby's room so we have been holding off. But it would be nice to have a semi done room before he arrives.

Since DD and I will be sharing a room at my parents house we have no room for more furniture for this baby until we move! She'll sleep in a bassinet while we're there and then when we move, ILs have already said they will buy her a crib and dresser. (They do for all their grandkids). I do need to buy a changing table and I was this close to buying diapers on Amazon the other day but didn't pull the trigger!

We have the crib and a dresser, car seat, and diapers so I’m guessing we are good if something crazy happens. I’ll be 31w in Friday so this kid could be here in 5 weeks. That is scary. I’m trying not to buy everything off our registries.
I am going to a big consignment sale Friday though. I’ll probably look for books, jammies, and maybe a tummy time mat since the one on our registry is already discontinued.....anything else I should be looking for?
