king26, when I say 4 oz that is the max I've ever pumped. Usual for me is more like 2 and I still have to supplement with formula a ton because M always seems hungry after BFing and anything I manage to pump I try to save up for MH to use when I'm away at class or clinical. It usually takes a couple pumping sessions to even get a 4 oz bottle. Also, lately M has been crying so much whenever I put her down that I'm rarely able to actually pump, which probably is not helping my supply. I've been so frustrated lately I feel like throwing in the towel on BFing.

So I have to go to this class tonight as part of my clinical hours. It's a health education class for parents that my preceptor is leading. I got permission a while ago to bring M with me because we don't have any evening child care and there will be other children (most toddler and older though) at the class so I figured NBD but M has been an absolute beast all day. Crying non-stop and hasn't slept more than like 15 minutes at a time. I'm so worried about this meeting now. Please tell me it will be all right.

That is tough cali. Will you have a bottle to feed her with? Hopefully she'll settle. Otherwise I'd throw her on the boob and put a blanket over her.

We had heating and cooling guys come today because our AC was acting up when we moved in a couple weeks ago. We rent, so the owner dealt with the company. I had NO idea he was replacing the whole thing! These guys were here from 10am-3:30pm. And it's just me, the baby, and the dog.
It went well though, the guys were nice and luckily the baby was only slightly fussy.

addymac, it's out here in the burbs near me. That's so sweet of you to offer though. I just talked to my mom and she's going to be on stand by to come get her if she's acting up.

Oh, apparently my insurance company is now denying my egg retrieval claim. They originally told my RE clinic it was a covered benefit, and now they are saying it isn't. The egg retrieval was last October! So now I have to spend the day tomorrow on the phone with insurance to appeal.
Otherwise I'll owe over 3 grand to the clinic. 😤 I really hope they change their mind.

I was all up in my clinic and insurance cover all IF stuff...they tried to triple charge me for something! I'm sorry you are dealing with this now

We supplement with every feeding now and I've made peace with it. I'm having a hard time thinking about eff but I'm beginning to think it will be better for everyone if I'm not chained to BF and pumping and still only getting enough for half of what he needs It sucks but I tell myself making it this far has been good for him and my body just can't do it. And i totally quoted you but not the right quote. Doh

So M had her 6 week check up today, we delayed shots till next week because of her cold but she gained 2.5 lbs since the 2 week! Little chunk is 11.3lbs. So now I don't feel like such a slacker for not tracking. I guess all the pooping and cluster feeding nights are paying off 😂

J had a 3.5 hour sleep when we first put him down then he's been up for 2 hours . 1 hour he has been screaming and crying. DH can't take it. I hate it but deal with it. He finally just crashed on me. This makes me worry about DH staying home with him if an hour of crying was doing him in. Actually he was over it after 15 minutes. Tell me it's going to be ok....

And he was only down for 50 minutes and is back up now. Not good. At least he is eating this tie. Last time up he cried and refused to eat. I'm exhausted.

How are you feeling? Any better? Yeah- once you guys all mentioned mastitis I started panicking and looking up symptoms, etc. and realized I more likely have a plugged duct so I spent the evening working on fixing that - a mix of hot compresses, massaging, pumping and BFing on that boob mainly. No more fever, and the pain in my boob went down considerably, so I feel lots better. Now if this kid would go back to sleep...... How do you guys juggle making dinner and holding your fussy kid? Tonight I was going to get started on dinner when he woke up and stayed up until after 9 and then dH finally came home and I felt terrible bc I was stuck on the couch breast feeding him and soothing him m, that I hadn't made dinner and we didn't eat til 10pm. Idk how to get it done if DH wants to not have to reheat food, and N seems to always be awake after 6/7pm....

addymac I have the dinner pro b lem too and it double sucks because I'm a food blogger and I'm not cooking. Yesterday I put a meal in the slow cooker during one of j naps and That was awesome. We had a hot meal and enough for dinner tomorrow too. I've also been trying to prep dinners while he naps ( cutting #veggies etc)

addymac I'm glad you're feeling better. Dinner is a shit show here. Sometimes I'm able to prep a meal during DS1s naptime, but not always. Either way, nothing gets cooked until H gets home. When DS was a baby, I would wear him while I made dinner, but a lot of times we still ate late. I'm no help, sorry. Your H may have to get over not wanting to eat reheated food, or get used to cooking when he gets home for a while.

Idk how to get it done if DH wants to not have to reheat food, and N seems to always be awake after 6/7pm.... Glad your boob feels better and your fever went down! As for YH.. all good and well he doesnt want to have to reheat food.. there is a lot you may not want either but still put up with or do 😉 So either he will have to cook dinner himself when he comes home OR he can get used to heating up dinner sometimes. He cant expect you to and take care of a newborn all day and still be on top of all the rest as well. I get that it sucks to have to work long days and come home and not being able to sit down and relax. But things have changed for the both of you, which will take some readjusting. That said I wish MH would step up as well. Don't get me wrong, MH does great with D and does support me. But somehow we are stuck with a lot of the old expectations when it comes to chores and all as well while I already solo all nights and most full days. He gets to relax and play a game or watch tv or nap (!!) while i use any baby free moment to catch up with households stuff, cook dinner, make him coffee, etc... It is ridiculous really but somehow I haven't yet brought it up cause I don't want the confrontation lol. I know a big part is me and I have to though cause if i dont now it will never change and I an setting myself up for major breakdowns heh.

cali how did the meeting go with M?? It actually was totally fine. She slept for most of it and only woke up the last 15 minutes. I gave her a bottle and she was fine.My preceptor was like wow she's such a good baby (ha! If she only knew). She started losing her shit just as the meeting ended and then she screamed the whole car ride home but that was fine. I'd rather her do it then than at the meeting!

addymac, I'm so glad you're feeling better! As for dinner, it's a shit show here as well. For a while I had a bunch of freezer meals that I made when still pregnant that I could just pop in the oven but as of this week those are gone so I've been trying to make really easy stuff that doesn't require much prep or cook time. I bring her bassinet from the pnp into the kitchen and set her in it on the table while I cook. She usually cries though so that's why I have to stick with uncomplicated meals that I can make quickly, like pasta. I've also made a couple of the frozen skillet meals and they're surprisingly good, I tried the Bertolli chicken parmesan and the Birdseye Garlic Chicken and they were both good and really easy. So no gourmet meals are happening around here but I manage to put out a hot meal while caring for M and MH hasn't complained. I want to try to start prepping some meals on Sundays when MH is home and have them ready for the week but I haven't tried doing that yet.
