I swear my child will not poop unless one of us are holding him. He always poops as one of us has him lol. It's always accompanied by loud, wet farts and it makes me giggle. I such a child. A has mastered pooping in a fresh diaper. Never fails.

In the NICU they showed us to put the fresh diaper underneath the butt before undoing the old diaper. It’s genius! We never knew of the trick with T, but we’ve been using it with R. Something about the fresh air makes them go and it’s at least saved us a disaster. Not sure if other hospitals teach this, but we had no idea.

jt2378 sorry that M is sick Hopefully it's shortlived. I agree that it's really hard to keep babies healthy with a toddler around.

Speaking of shots, for those who have been through it, any tips? Should I have some infant Tylenol or something? If you nurse, it may help to nurse LO while shots are happening. With DS1, he took his shots like a champ and never even cried. Not expecting the same this time around, but I can't offer much more beyond the nursing anecdote.

Does anyone have footed pajamas that zip from the bottom that they love? Target sells a bunch like this.

Yesterday was so weird. J had a bad fussy period from like 8 until 3 where he would only sleep for 44 minutes at a time then at 3 he had 2 decent stretches so who knows. We are working on it.
Also, I was reading about transitioningbto the crib andbim worried it will be hard gking fron RNP to crib. Also hard to go bassinet to pnp anyone else worried about this? I may try to do a stretch tomorrow night in PNP when J is swaddled as I think that would be easiest.

The pooping stories were a nice entertainment while we dealt with D's fussyness MOTN hahaha. She too is a master of pooping on fresh clean daipers. And she seems to enjoy to load and unload at the same time while BFing in the mornings...

I feel bad for J. He was up whimpering in his bassinet for at least 40 minuyes after our midnight feeding. He had fallen asleep twice then woke up twice in the bassinet right away.. I tried soothing him to sleep because he wasn't crying but his arms were going and his legs were going. I fell asleep at 215 and woke up to him whimpering at 315. I hope he fell asleep foe that hour too otherwise I feel awful if he just whimpered for another hour without me hearing. I know he didn't cry but still

I'm in wake up hourly hell again. Every time I think he's passed out, he wakes right up when I set him down. king26, I'm worried about transitioning from the RnP to the crib or even bassinet. But I need him to actually sleep before I can switch it up. I'm thinking of trying to get him to nap first and then hopefully get him to sleep there at night.

king26 I had no problems transitioning from bassinet to crib last time. This time we are using the crib for naps even more earlier on. I often try to move her to the crib during the day if she falls asleep somewhere else. I have read where people have issues transitioning with the RnP. I think my niece was fine or at least we didn’t have an issue transitioning from the RnP to pack n play for naps on the days H watches her.

DS had issues moving from the RNP to the PNP so we did that transition earlier with E (around 2 weeks). She kind of hates the RNP now. He also struggled to go from PNP to his crib. I need to start putting E in there more often, but I enjoy the snuggles. Both of them sleep better swaddled and with white noise in the crib. I always start the transitions with naps in the new place and overnight wherever they sleep best. Overnight sleep is too precious to mess with.

@easilyunamused I'm so sorry for the hourly wake ups. That's so hard. I hope you get some better sleep soon.
I know you know this, but it won't last forever. Promise. It doesn't help with the exhaustion and frustration in the moment much though. So, hugs momma.

king26 Wish I could help with an anecdote or experience but D has been both napping and sleeping either in her bassinet(s, she got one downstairs as well as in the bedroom - they are different but she doesnt seem to care) or on us so we havent needed to transition her. She took to sleeping in her bassinet just fine although there have been times where she d fuss and all when in there and I 'd end up letting her sleep on me (or MH, he loves it when she naps or sleeps with him). lately I have been trying to put her in bed while not completely passed out yet to learn her fall asleep and to selfsooth occasionally..sometimes this works great, other times.. not so much!

I hate it when D wakes right up the moment I put her down in bed.. no matter how far out and deep asleep she seems to be on top of me at the time. One thing which seems to help a little is to put a hot water bottle in her bassinet beforehand, so she doesnt go from warm and cosy to cold. And I have a white noise plushie which simulates the sound if mamas heartbeat in the womb that we use at times too.

@easilyamused sorry for the poor sleep. E is like this during the day - she consistently wakes once I out her down. I don't have any advice, just that youre not alone.

king26, yes I have been worried about the transitioning to the crib from RnP but like others mentioned I think I will start with trying to get her to nap in the crib and go from there. My plan is hopefully start next week when she is feeling better from her cold and after her shots

@easilyunamused I've had the same thing tonight. I got 2.5 hours at the beginning of the night and then nothing since then. Not sure how I'll function tomorrow. Usually dh takes him at the beginning of the night and I get 3 hrs but dh is sick, so I told him to sleep. I'm considering swaddling again even though baby seems to hate it.i don't get why my kids don't sleep.

The past days were pretty hellish but today so far has been alright so I hope were are over whatever bump it was? I really think the thrush (and cold?) was bothering her a lot and also made drinking more difficult. Which resulted in a hungry and cranky baby - luckily I had pumped milk to give her and bottle feedings seemed to go easier then BF as well. Which of course gave me all the feels and insecurities over BF and my supply again (esp since I pumped less suddenly then I did before??). We have been giving her the oral gel for 2 days now and I really hope it helps. BFing seems to satisfy her more again so 🤞. Thank you for asking ! 💛

D wakes up frequently and would try to eat every chance he got only to spit up. I try to just hold him and give him a paci. If it's been 2 hours then I start to think it may be hunger. Unless he's in a growth spurt, then all bets are off.

J always wants fed when he wakes up no matter how long he was down I only BF but I do try to soothe with rocking or a pacifier first and if he won't settle quickly, I throw him in the boob. It'll probably bite me in the ass later, but it's the easiest way to calm A down.

J always wants fed when he wakes up no matter how long he was down I try to offer the paci and swaddle and soothe before offering food again. 9/10 he just wants food bc he's a fatty.... Ughhhh last night I started to feel like shit. I was so cold and having the chills. N would not fall asleep and DH was busy with work til midnight. I was exhausted and felt like shit. He finally fell asleep in his crib and I slept but had chills the whole time. Woke up at 2- he was asleep, why would my body wake me up??? Woke up at 3- ugh I need to pump. Still with the chills. Woke up at 5- fed N and thought he was super cold, until I realized I'm actually burning up and have the chills. Nap for an hour and then take my temp- 100.9. Ugh. I want my mommy. I hate being sick and I hope i don't get him sick! I don't even understand- I haven't been around anyone these last few days besides DH and he's not sick. Ugh. Just want to sleep.
