I've been drinking wine since 4pm. Everyone just left and it's almost 8. I would say that's a successful BBQ.

thatgolfb I love your fire pit! We've been working on our our back yard and a fire pit was one of my must haves. Now we just need to get some furniture out there so we can actually enjoy it! I love this one. The 4 chairs that came with it all swivel and rock and have cushions so comfy. We might also get a couple lounge chairs. We really need to landscape the yard. That is our next big project. It is all weeds and is gross. There is a huge tree stump that we need to get taken out but I have a feeling that will be $$$$. My dad said he and H can take a chainsaw to it but that has me like 😲 |

I guess I am willing to spend the money on something that will long term be something necessary. Once we sod, we can add a play set!

I actually managed to somewhat teach my kid some basic baseball skills today. He was even able to get some hits from some generous pitches (and had some foul tips on a few that I threw a bit harder than necessary). He still has to coordination of a 6 year old, but he did pretty well. I'm an awful coach for newbies, so I'm happy I only made him cry once when he missed and it hit him in the gut. My almost 6 year old plays tee ball and he is just...not good. Like no coordination whatsoever. He loves to play but it is just so hard to watch. |

I liked it! It took me a little while to figure out what kind of book it was, and I think it went on a few chapters too long to try to get the "perfect" resolution, but the writing was so good and I really cared about the characters. For me that is everything. If you have a lot to say about it I would participate in a separate thread about it! I'm not sure enough of us have read it. But I get what you're saying. I was sobbing at the end because I felt Holly's story was just the intermediary between two shitty worlds. But I absolutely love books where you are trying to figure out how characters are related to other characters. Like a fun puzzle. I Loooved The Bone Clocks. I actually really liked the ending too. I would talk about it anytime, even if it's a thread with three people. But Bunny, I wanted to say, if you like books where characters intertwine you should try Ursula Under. It was weird but really interesting. |

It's actually tomorrow, but we had yummy lamb for dinner and opened a yummy (hard to find) Pinot. I have a bottle of Iron Horse Wedding Cuvée for tomorrow. My H's birthday is tomorrow too. |

Also I'm curious about where you are @winomite. And how was the Lowcountry boil? I'm near Camden. It was good. The guy who made it polished off a bottle of scotch while making it, so I'm shocked we got to eat it. We'll have fun. I'm from the Lowcountry proper. Camden is definitely more... rural. Lol. He's a high school teacher so he gets bored during the summers (even though he teaches summer school). Needless to say, summer is expensive in these parts lol! |
