Seriously though...I became emotionally attached to the cooler weather. Where did it go?! Ugh yeah I was so excited. It's supposed to drop back down around here by next Thursday. That still means it's going to be hot as balls for a week.

Thank you. I just don't know how much time to give him to adjust. MH seems to think the teacher in annoyed with DS1, but he tends to read into things that aren't there. I'm happy that I'll be able to pick him up now though and I should have more time to talk with the teacher at the end of the day. Today would only be his 5th class ever, so I don't feel like that's much time to really adjust yet.

Fall finally found Seattle. It's rained everyday this week and it hasn't been above the mid 60s. I love it.

It's a whole new environment with a bunch of kids he doesn't really know. Kids thrive on routine and right now his world has changed drastically. But, one positive is he did make progress by eating snack with the class. Baby steps. He'll get there one day! I'll be in the same boat when it's B's turn I'm sure.

It's after 1 and I haven't done a damn thing at work. I'm so preoccupied with planning C's pictures and birthday party. I stopped at Joann's yesterday and bought a bunch of supplies. I'm going to be having a craft and wine night with my cousin soon to get some projects done.
Also I just turned on an online training that is required. It has audio but I immediately started playing a podcast while it's running in the background instead. I found out there's no test so whatever.

But he never gets upset when we talk about it.

I wonder if you talk to him and set up what his day will be like, if it would make drop off easier. Like, today we're going to eat breakfast, change our clothes and then daddy will take you to school where you'll get to play with some friends and read some books. Then mommy will pick you up and we'll come home and eat dinner. M likes to know the plan and she'll repeat it back to me.

Or maybe at drop off the teacher can go over what they'll be doing that day so he knows what to expect.

I told MH that he needs to make drops off quick and he said he tries but that DS won't let him leave. Like he runs out the door after him, so one of the teachers needs to be holding him when he leaves. We're going to try the afternoon class today because she said there are a lot less kids in that one. It's in the same room with the same teacher, so it won't be too drastic of a change hopefully. The teacher said he's upset pretty much the entire time he's there.

Well, just got in an accident. Home now but, I might be permanently scarred.
A pick up truck entered the highway carrying pallets in its cab. Pallets were not secured and as he picked up speed (I was in the lane to the left of him - 4 lane highway) three of the pallets flew off about 10 feet into the air (so I'm told) and hit my car, damn near windshield, somewhat spun me, popped both tires, car behind me swerved, hit one and then hit me, then car behind me hit me.
I'm alive and not bleeding or in he hospital.
Aside from that I'm not sure what's what.
AVs car seat was in my car bc I took her for a ride this morning.
I don't have rental insurance. I need a car.
How do I adult in this situation. My jaw hurts a little and so does my shoulder.

I imaging what it takes to get M out of the house in the mornings and even when everything goes as planned and is ready it's still kind of hectic. Whereas in the afternoon she's already had time to go along with her schedule and settle in to the day. Is J very schedule oriented? I was him as a kid. Still am, lol. I did afternoon preK and every school day my mom made very regimented in the hours leading up to school time. Including the two shows I was allowed to watch if I ate all my lunch. I think it's very similar to what tgrimes is referring to. It worked even though I still wasn't a fan of going.

I'm starting to get concerned about M's rash. I thought it was heat rash but it keeps spreading. If it hits her legs I'm going to take her in. I thought it was gastro but the bad diapers/throwing up only lasted a day whereas the discomfort and fever lasted three and a half. The rash didn't show up until after the symptoms (and sweating) subsided.

On his own he wakes up between 8-8:30. School starts at 8:30, so MH has been getting him up a little earlier so he can hang out for a minute before they start getting ready. I guess he hasn't been eating breakfast though, today he only had one bite of his french toast and that's it. I picked the morning class because when I registered him he was still taking naps and the afternoon class was right at nap time. He's pretty much dropped his nap these last few weeks though.

How do I adult in this situation. My jaw hurts a little and so does my shoulder. You contact their insurance and make them take care of you. When someone hit me when I was KU with the twins their insurance took care of everything, including securing my rental car. When you talk to their rep, tell them you REQUIRE an SUV or van. They can accommodate that (again from experience I know they can). Take pics. In some cases, you can call your insurance company and have them harass the at fault driver's company, but beware that this can sometimes mean that you pay your deductible (unless they have a waiver clause). I AM SO GLAD YOU ARE OK AND DIDN'T HAVE THE BABIES!!

And kleigh if you need to go to the ER to check out your shoulder, go. I went with the twin accident. Again, it was 100% paid for. And they cut me a 4-figure check for having to go to the ER. I mean. Don't go just because of that, but also don't not go if you feel pain.

Thank you so much starbuck I'll call them right away. That's all I kept thinking is thank God they were not in the car with me and thank God I was able to swerve enough for it to miss it hitting my windshield head on. I just saw pics, one of the pallets hit the edge of the windshield + frame that holds the windshield + the passenger side mirror + passenger door, ran another one over somehow and my tires are torn apart. The passsnger side looks totaled, how did the air bags not deploy?! I've had issues with this car since day 1, makes me wonder if air bags were supposed to deploy in this case.

Omg kleigh. I am so glad you are ok. So glad and so relieved the babies weren't with you. Omg. Idk exactly how it works. Because it wasn't your fault will the other driver's insurance cover a rental for you? I feel like it should work that way in a perfect world. AV will need a new seat but that should most definitely be covered by the at fault driver's insurance.

Yikes kleigh! Do everything that starbuck said because she's right. Go to urgent care or the hospital because it will be covered their insurance. Lots and lots of pictures. Only thing I can add is write down every detail you can remember about what happened while it's fresh in your head.

If you feel like you need to go to the doctor, you should go. It's a pain but totally worth it for peace of mind. I have no advice about a rental car, but I would imagine that the other person's insurance would pay/reimburse you for it. Did you contact your insurance? Is there a police report (I feel like because multiple cars were involved the police were called, but maybe not?) Again, I am just happy you are ok, how terrifying.
