So sorry duskymonkey! I'm so glad everything seems to be ok, but glad they're monitoring you just in case...

duskymonkey Oh no! After all you have been through and then to get rear-ended by an idiot who wasn't paying attention! I am so, so angry and pissed off for you. I would have been livid and screamed at the guy - I just know it. I hope the contractions slow down and you can get discharged. Ugh - so sorry again. I will be thinking of you and looking for updates. Big hugs. Also - Rama - I have had a cervical check with the vag cam basically every week or every other week (since I was 10 weeks) this entire pregnancy. Mine always hovers around 3cm, which my MFM was really happy with. Last week (at the time I was 1 day short of 35 weeks), it measured at 2.5cm, but that is pretty normal towards the end of the 3rd trimester. So, I'd say if your cervix is at 2.9 - 3cm, you're good! Like dusky said, they just get nervous when it drops around 2.5cm or lower.

Oh @duskeymonkey, I'm so sorry but glad everyone is ok!! I hate having to slow down on the highway bc exactly what happened to you is always my biggest fear. People don't pay attention! I hope everything goes well and the contractions slow down so you can go home.

duskymonkey ugh I'm so sorry for the idiot on the highway! Do you live in a no fault state? When we were rear ended last year our insurance paid for everything from our uninsured driver deductible because the guy who hit us, didn't stop and trololol'd away (don't even get me started). Anyway, since you couldn't wait for the cops and such, I assume it would be a similar situation.

Thanks guys. Other than zero sleep. Who sleeps in the jig pits hooked up to machines anyways; I'm doing ok. I did have a few painful contractions last night but they were sparsely apart. I haven't felt anything since early this am. Bubs seems to be doing well. So I didn't know this but I was told even a minor accident could cause placental abruption with no symptoms other than baby movements slowing down so I should be thankful my ob is insisting I get monitored for 24 hrs. But now that I've been contracting off and on, most I'm not feeling, they're debating if I should be released late this afternoon or keep me longer 😩 ETA. Not jig pits! Wtf auto correct. I meant hospital but will leave it cos that sounds so accurate at this moment 🤣

duskymonkey I'm glad they're monitoring you, especially since you never know with accidents. I can see how they'd be concerned even by a minor accident, as the seatbelt runs right across the hips/bump area. Whatever happens, I hope baby keeps doing well on the monitoring, and it is great you are already at full term. Fingers crossed you can come home though - being in the hospital is the jig pits! 🤓🤣😉

How far along are you? Appointment was yesterday and I was 36+4 Any concerns? How are you feeling? I felt a slight decrease in movement on Monday but yesterday the little guy made it known he was still all good in there! I, on the other hand, feel like crap. Everything hurts, I can barely walk, I miss cuddling DD, I'm just so ready for this to be over. It wasn't nearly this bad last time and I'm struggling to deal. What kind of appointment? OB and GBS swab How did it go? *Baby is great!* But it could have gone better... Any feels/vents/etc? I copied the below from my rant that I posted in my S15 group. Sorry if it's 'too soon' to show my true colors so hopefully you'll still have me after this... First off, we had to wake DD up to drop her off at the nanny in her jammies so I didn't get any morning time with her. Traffic was terrible, the elevator was malfunctioning (OB is on Floor 14 so we couldn't walk - had to wait forever), the pedestrian bridge to the office was closed. Thus we were 15 minutes late for the appointment. They called me over AFTER we checked in only to tell me they weren't sure if the OB could see me because we were late. Finally got called back, OB walks in and it's a man. Fine, whatever, but I've never seen him before and it was GBS swab day. He was the type of doctor that tried to make light conversation and I like a doctor that tells it like it is - I could tell immediately we were not compatible. THEN, as I'm laying down for the GBS swab he casually says, "how about that weight?" My response, "excuse me?" "Yeah, you're up 10 pounds from the last time we saw you, did you notice it?" I was beyond my breaking point and started sobbing on the table. I couldn't stop sobbing - it got to the point that DH got up and gave me a hug as the f*ing OB is all up in my business. For the record, the 10 pounds was over 5 weeks, so 2 pounds a week, which I thought wasn't terrible. Andplusalso sometimes those scales are actually off. Also, my diet typically is eggs for breakfast, granola and yogurt for lunch, hummus and crackers for a snack, and a protein, grain and veggie for dinner. It's not like I'm gorging myself on fast food, asshole. Weight is a huge trigger for me and my OB has never, EVER brought it up as a concern. Now I'm super stressed which can't be good either. Learn anything new? I'm at the end of my rope with this pregnancy. That's about it. Next appointment: 2 weeks @ 38+3

Rama ☹️ Glad to hear all is checking out well with you. Is a SCH causing your bleeding? That stinks and totally messes with your mind. Big hugs. Congrats... you're almost to 2nd tri. Very happy for you! When they checked, they didn't see anything like an SCH. So far, we've chalked it up to an irritated cervix. Though someone posited that the clot I passed could have previously been a SCH, so maybe I did and we just never saw it? I'm so done with first tri. Thanks for the cheers! <3

I am pregnant check-in
How far along are you? 34w3d
Any concerns? How are you feeling? Feeling pretty good. Sometimes I worry about reduced movement but then whenever I do a kick count she passes in 20 min or less so I'm thinking it's more of a focus issue on my part.
I also really really would love to make it full term (or even be overdue!) This is most likely my last pregnancy so I'm trying to enjoy my body like this bc I'll never get to experience it again. I also have way too much shit to do for this kid to be early. Also, PSA to this baby: your older sisters bday party is on Oct 14--please do not arrive before then.
What kind of appointment? Appt on Friday--regular check up. Will report back then!

So, tell me where this OB is, chitownsully? Because I could literally throatpunch him. If this happened to me, I would have half a mind to immediately demand someone else, don't give a fuck if I'm already laying down and he's prepped. Fuck you, fuck your high horse, fuck your practice, get out of my vag.

I am pregnant check-in
How far along are you? 36+2
Any concerns? How are you feeling? SO FREAKING OVER IT.
What kind of appointment? GBS swab and regular check up
How did it go? Good. Baby is head down and has long legs.
Any feels/vents/etc? I really wanted her to do a cervical check, but I know there's no point. I dont think they do them until 38 weeks anyway. I'm uncomfortable ALL the time. I want to give birth now. Obviously, I'm happy baby is still cooking, but ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Learn anything new? Circumcision requires you to stay an extra night in the hospital apparently (depending on birth time and whatnot). Not happy about this, I hate my hospital's recovery boxes rooms with a fiery passion.
Next appointment: Monday for 37 week appt.

How far along are you? 38+2 Any concerns? How are you feeling? No concerns. Just ready to be not pregnant and have an outside baby. What kind of appointment? Weekly checkup + NST How did it go? Great! Of course baby moved the whole time I was waiting to be seen and then barely moved during the NST. I did have some contractions though at least. Most importantly - they scheduled my induction! We report to the hospital at 4am on Tuesday! Any feels/vents/etc? Excited!! A little anxious for an induction since DD came on her own, but I know everything will be fine. Learn anything new? Learned my induction date Next appointment: Not until post-partum

chitownsully, big hugs! FWIW, you look amazing in all your HDBD pics. Weight are just numbers and screw the OB. Here's an early UO, but I don't get male OBs and that makes me sound sexist but how does a male ob understand what you're going through when they don't have the same equipment as us. Also male OBS creep me out.

duskymonkey How scary and I'm so mad for you. Not to go into triggery details, but this is a rough week for a friend of a friend thanks to a 17 year old jackass who was texting while driving on the highway. I hate when people don't take driving seriously. chitownsully well fuck that guy. I hope you don't have to deal with him anymore. I'd probably even request that I don't with the practice.
