So MH deployment plans have changed due to Maria. We don't know when he is leaving but he will go to Puerto Rico. I can't stop watching the coverage of the Virgin Islands. It's so awful how hard they are going to be hit. It's awful. My H flew missions to and over Haiti after the earthquake a few years back and from what he's hearing now from colleagues in the islands, that's what it's like there now. The devastation is incredible. And now with Maria on the way... It's also tricky because so many of the Caribbean islands are protectorates of other countries, so you're trying to coordinate the French govt here, American here, Dutch there... When Irma went through I said "thank God it didn't go through Haiti ". I just remember how bad that was. Some of these islands are even independent. It's hard to tell people to evacuate, I mean they are small islands but they are entire countries too. I've been thinking that the less photos you see of a place the worse it is. They can't get photos and messages out.

Ugh. It looks like the house is falling through. This week sucks. Oh no! Why is it not going to work out? Basically they're dragging their feet on signing a contract and don't want to make the repairs we requested after inspection. When we said they should take $$ off the price, they mentioned they had another accepted offer. So, they apparently have been showing the house with an accepted offer. We will see what happens but I'm not feeling great about it.

Cher that sucks, I'm sorry. lfig I feel like I have a cold, but not awful! Lucas seems pretty much 100%, so I'm hoping it pretty much passed the rest of us by. snoopmommymom not a bad mom in my book. They aren't going to starve, and if they're really hungry they'll eat what's in front of them. Lol, not to say that I never give into because the food struggles suck. Dh is actually more of a stickler then I am.

I hope the perfect one (with normal owners & an N13 guest suite) comes on the market soon for you.

I'm pretty sure a house can be shown until the contract closes, but I can check with my mom, it may vary by state. I know when we were looking, many realtors will state on MLS that the house has a contract, but show as back up. We never looked at any of those houses though.

She said herself, and the realtors she works with, will continue to show or allow a house to be shown, until the contract is signed. So although shitty, while working out the details, if the seller receives another offer for more money and/or less work, they have the option to accept it. She did say that may vary by state, brokerage, realtor, she only knows KS. Sorry about the house Cher. Buying and selling is so stressful and time consuming. I hope you find the house of your dreams soon!

Some is stuff that was missed by their inspector when they bought it.

Yeah, I know you can do it in CA at least. But it's common courtesy to let people know that it's being shown so you can accept back-up offers. Maybe your intuition about the seller being weird was right, Cher. Hope things work out and they aren't just wasting your time.

But they've been dragging their feet to get into contract, it's been almost 2 weeks since they accepted our offer. Meanwhile, we've been paying lawyers and inspectors. They're playing both sides. This is why I have negative feelings about FSBOs, there are common courtesies in these situations and they should have an agent to make them act right.
