H has an EI. She wants me to try & find an ENT that can see him in 2 weeks. Why should you find? Our doctor finds the ent for us. Unless your able to go to different hospitals.

I was thinking the same. We even had our doctor call in an urgent referral (not the ENT) when it was close to the holidays and they wanted C seen ASAP.

Normally they just be for me to Texas Children's Hospital. Since the last time I made an appointment we couldn't get in till the end of October I'll need to call people on my insurance to see you can see me sooner. Is that weird? Should I be mad?

Hi! Just bought up. Work is super crazy and I was out straight all day. Tomorrow I have a ton more purchasing to do and Thursday I have to go to some furniture stores. I'm hoping to take some flex time Friday afternoon to decompress but we will see. Dh was great when I talked to him last night and is going to step it up at home and do a few pickups with C over the next two weeks.

Our pediatrician gives a list of specialists they recommend but I have to check on insurance and make the appointments. Only exception was when I brought DS1 in with a broken arm that needed immediate attention. They found someone who would see us right away for that.

mamabear it is definitely harder to work with older kids than it was with babies. Daycare was one stop all day long. Now it's what to do when I need morning or after or half day or days off care and I teach in the same district my kids go to school in so those days are rare. DH will be away next week and I'm just calling out sick Monday because I would need 3 sets of babysitters to get through the day (none for my 3 year old who can be at his preschool through all of it.)

mamabear +2 to older kids schedules being more complicated. Between school drop off, pickups, after school programs, curriculum night, math night, field trips, sports, doctors appointments..... I could go on and on, I don't know how we would manage it if I didn't stay home. I mean, I know we would, and people do it all the time, but it's a lot to juggle.

We also got a referral list from the pediatrician but had to make the calls. We ended up with a doc not even on the list because of wait time, and I had found that one online.

My ped is a private practice and isn't affiliated with a hospital as far as I know. They have recommended specialists as needed, but we made calls and appointments. I bet if we were at a ped based at children's, then they would keep it in house.

So I made dinner tonight and both my kids took maybe one or two bites and I didn't give them anything else. Bad mom? I'm struggling with getting them (O in particular) to eat real food. All he wants is snacks. And by snacks I mean something unhealthy like a granola bar or cheese-it's.

J had fallen into the habit of requesting a banana in bed as a stalling tactic. Now we warn him multiple times that this is dinner and the kitchen is closed once it's over. If he claims he's hungry, I tell him ok we will have a big breakfast then, good night!

I think mh needs to get back on his anxiety meds. He keeps everything bottled up. I know he is stressed at work, he complains about his co-workers all the time and surely he is stressed about his mom. He doesn't talk to me about her. He started wearing a baseball cap at home. He has been pulling at his hair in the front and now he's pulling it out. It just started, so it isn't bad, but I told him today at dinner he should think about it. He wants to try a fidget spinner instead..... We've been doing good in our relationship, but I hate knowing he is stressed/worried and that he won't talk about it. Maybe I need to do a date night with him and try to get him to talk....

That's hard, @klongoria. Has he been resistant to meds in the past when they were needed? I'm glad your marriage is in a better place, hopefully a date night will help.

He thinks they are short term drugs. He will take them for 2 weeks and then just stop. He was taking them for panic attacks for awhile, but didnt want to keep going back to the Dr for follow ups. He's stubborn.

We went to the lake this weekend and the boat wouldn't run, so we spent one day working on the boat (unsuccessfully) and the other day we rented a boat. Then yesterday was a hellish day at work (end of FY scrambling...gotta love govt work). Then today S had a seizure at day care followed by vomiting. So I left work early to get her. We had been about 6 weeks seizure free. So now we have increased one of her meds again. Im ready for my day off tomorrow!

I just told Dh we need to clean out the junk food and have healthier food around. All they want to do is snack. H signs "eat" constantly and then throws a tantrum when I tell him no. N told me at bedtime they had cucumber, tomatoes and carrots for snack at preschool. She has never been willing to try cucumbers and tomatoes before but she said she liked them so I'm hoping it's a gateway into healthier snacks!
