At what point do I stress that no one is going to come? She has 3 friends coming so far and the rest is family. Granted, she says "oh good, my best friends are coming" so she is happy as a clam, but I'm stewing with wtfs even though I just passed out the invites. I'm an immediate rsvp'er, so I don't get the waiting. I did say to rsvp by the 10th, so I guess I shouldn't stress until then. I think deep down I'm seeing it as these parents don't like me and it has nothing to do with Cadence. How vain is that? I rsvp right away too bc I know how stressful party planning is, so I try to help out the hostess! So I gave invites out Oct 24ish and asked to rsvp by Nov 1. Invites trickled in slow as molasses. As of a week ago, I was worried we’d only have like 5 friends . In a matter of a week, it shot up to 12 friends! (One of them being the not invited 1 yr old )

klong11 I’m sorry this thing is stressing you out so much! If only we’d all lived on a compound and just throw one big birthday party!

nam2013 It was three layers with a fondant city on the side, diamonds on the top, and lightning bolts. I got it from a super delicious bakery and everyone had seconds and took some home so it was worth it. ETA: it looks small but it was huge. For 30 people

I have a ques for ppl doing their party not at home.... do you mind me asking how much you’re spending all in? We did at an home party last year and it cost me about $300 total (a large chunk of that being for the princess that came). Anyhow, I’m surprised at how much this is costing me. I don’t want to be setting some precedent and feeling like I’m throwing them a sweet 16 style party each year. Our party is at a MyGym. Party is $400 and includes 2 "party hosts" to run the thing, all supplies according to a theme I pick (like cups, napkins, decorations, etc. they even did the invitations for me), and juice boxes for up to 15 kids. Additional guests are $12 each. I supply pizza, cake, favors and any other drinks besides juice. They do have a deal with a local pizza place for discounted pizza if I want to go through them. They set up, clean up, etc. I did a home party last year, and it didn't cost that much, but I think it's worth it, just to not have everyone at my house, have to clean up, etc.

I often RSVP at the last minute b/c I am waiting to see if MH will be in town to watch the baby, etc. I wouldn't take it personally. We handed out the invitations 2 weeks ago and I had 2 RSVPS until 3 days ago, then all of a sudden they started rolling in. I wouldn't worry.

mamabear, I would think that is perfectly fine. We did discuss siblings, but it was more about participating siblings and that it is polite to offer to pay for the extra child.

klong11, i got 2 rsvps on the last day and 3 the following day (at least 1 no). I did not hear a no from any parent that did not throw a party. I think those that did understand the stress I got 2 rsvps that state the grandparent is bringing the child instead of the parent, both reasons for this were expected. mamabear, infants who aren't participating or eating are usually ok. I would let them know with the rsvp. yummeecookee, I'm doing at home but it is $200 for the bounce house and at least another $150 for the food and goodies. If I had chosen somewhere else it would have been the same once I factored in food and extra kids. wineallthetime I think you will be fine without activities. Maybe a pin the tail on the alligator or a water balloon toss (at something not people) if you are interested in something. I have some bean bags so I might setup something for them to knock down. Kids are fine at this age without activities and don't want to listen to instructions.

yummeecookee I spend about 350 for birthday parties. Millie’s wasn’t that much. I think it came out to around 280. It is expensive to throw them at places but my house is not big enough to host them. We don’t give our kids bday gifts. The party is the gift. I do think I’ll start the everyday other year party. Maybe this year I’ll tell Carter he can invite 3 friends to a movie. Birthdays are expensive.

Matthew wants a remote control vehicle. I have no idea that he could actually use it right but it's all he's asked for specifically.

You should see where she got it. I bet he would like that! They also make first time remote control cars, with pretty basic controls.

From school? 3 that are yes, 3 no I know Cadence will be fine with whoever shows up, I just don't like that people are leaving me hanging. Of course, even mh's sister hasn't responded and I sent her the invitation via messenger and then mh texted her. She saw both, but didn't respond to either.

I just got a text from Cadence's best friend who moved schools in August. They are coming! Now if no one else rsvps I don't care. Oh and I texted my brother. He said his soon to be ex wife has their daughter that weekend so they can't come.....ugh. Why can't people just be like, "hey, I know it's your weekend, but so and sos birthday is that weekend, can I take her to that and then you can have extra time the following weekend?" whatever.

Plus $30 for pizza, plus cake and paper goods..I'm hoping to get by around $500🤦. It'll be more if we get more than 20 kids though. Blerg.

tallb, that’s pretty much what I’m looking at as well. But of course, you and I are from the same area. Well at least now I feel better knowing it’s not just me going overboard. That’s pretty much on par.
