Someone who has the Spectra pump - do I have to wash the UFO looking part with the white diaphragm? Does milk touch that? I don't think I need to wash the tubes right?

I had planned to work from home today but that went out the window yesterday when some stuff came up at work and I had to schedule some meetings. Oh well, maybe I can next week.
Tonight is another home football game so DS and I are planning to go. Our Fall weather is gone and it is hot again so I hope it isn't too uncomfortable. My legs and feet are out of control with swelling so I really hope it cools down by kick off.

Good morning. I still feel like I didn't sleep at all last night. So glad it's Friday which means sleeping in tomorrow.
My baby has developed this fun game that involves shoving his knee (or foot?) into the side of my abdomen and pushing with all of his might. I literally bend over in pain when he does it. At least I know he's moving good??

Happy Friday everyone! Our day was pretty normal, until DH had a little mishap with the grill right before dinner. He accidentally grabbed the actual grill instead of the handle on the cover 😩. I don't know how he managed it, but - he ended up likely giving himself 3rd degree burns on his index and ring finger on his right hand. So...off to the hospital he went tonight. He has a follow-up tomorrow and we'll find out for sure if they are 3rd degree or second degree. If 3rd, he might need surgery on the fingers to prevent something bad from happening....I can't remember what bad thing exactly...maybe chances of infection or permanent nerve damage? He might have permanent nerve damage from this anyways I guess. Ugh.
The whole situation sucks, because now DH can't really use his right hand (his dominant one), which is going to be hard for wrangling DS or taking DS to swim lessons. I'm not allowed to pick up DS or do the swim lessons either due to my complications. Soooo...I guess we're going to have to ask the nanny to help out more until DH is healed up (at least 3 weeks). Our poor nanny!
I guess I am just glad this happened now, instead of like right after the baby is born. Extra incentive for baby to keep cooking for 3 more weeks (I am 35 weeks today), so DH can be back to 100% by the time baby arrives!

thatgirlrachel, ouch that doesn't sound fun at all. I don't know what my kid is trying to do but every now and then I feel something and look down and a butt (I assume it's a butt from its location) is poking out from the front of my belly. Is she twerking??? It doesn't hurt but it sure feels funny. And looks weird as hell.

Amen! I'm having a cupcake for breakfast and then taking my swollen feet to get a pedicure this afternoon with a friend. Good Friday so far!

Damn Taitai, your poor DH! I think that my OB office should just come to grips with the fact that this baby does not like NSTs. Baby pulled the same shit as last week and they sent me to L&D again yesterday. This time they let me go home around 2pm instead of after 5. I'm glad they keep telling me they know my baby is okay but I need to save up my days at work. I have a shitty maternity leave lol.

Taitai LT for support (and for being 35 weeks today!!!). I'm so sorry that happened! Poor timing for sure, but it *could* have been worse as you said, if that happened right after the baby is born. Fingers crossed (too soon?) that he only has 2nd degree burns and no nerve damage.

We are settling in well at home. So glad my mom came out to help with the toddler and give him special attention. Baby's first pediatrician appointment is today. I'm curious to see how much she weighs; my milk is in and she is a big fan of nursing. I'm also curious to see if our pediatrician treats baby as pre-term. The official discharge report states that the hospital pediatrician considered her a 38 week gestation baby, based on examination (which is actually possible, given my LMP).

britt have fun at the wedding! bubblefan we're on our way to DS's first pediatrician appointment. He was basically cluster feeding last night (do bottle fed babies do that? Lol). Up every hour to hour and a half. He did give me a 3 hour stretch after 3am. H is staying at our house (nowhere for him to sleep at my dad's right now), so I'm solo at nights and I was worried it was going to be a rough night. Taitai your poor H! I hope it's not as bad as 3rd degree with nerve damage.

Taitai, sorry to hear that. I hope it isn't as bad as it seems right now! bootsorhearts1, I also got the spectra. I asked my husband to help me assemble it because I have no idea. I'll wash everything this weekend I suppose. My house is a mess. Just FYI. There is baby stuff and packed boxes everywhere.

I was wide awake at 4 and fell back asleep around 5 or so. DH went in early, so I got DS and myself ready solo this morning. I was proud of myself for being somewhat on time... until I got allllmost to work and realized I forgot my laptop at home. sigh. I'm ready to move to the new office where it'll be a lot closer to home for times like this.

Timely question as I JUST used mine for the first time about an hour ago. I did wash the spaceships, both sides and the white thing in the middle, but I didn't sterilize them. I didn't wash the tubes. Hopefully that's right....lol.

H and I were not prepared for DS to come home yesterday when we showed up at the NICU. We had the car seat because they did the car seat test, but no clothes. He can home in a NICU Kimono and diaper. Second child struggles start early. Lol

Went to the park this morning, it's been super hot but it was on the water with a nice breeze. Crackers and cheese in front of the tv for lunch, then a nap for both of us. I'm doing the least the rest of today. Making pizza for dinner.
We also are almost 100% set on booking our trip in January and I have managed to convince my sister and BF to come too and rent a house with us. She's never really travelled so I'm excited for her.
