Quick update from ssm, she is 6cm so far. They tried to break her water but it was too uncomfortable so they may try that again later. Though she thinks it may have broken a little bit anyway as there is some leakage. |

Once she stops texting me I'll assume shit is starting to get real in terms of labor. I've not been in labor but I don't think there is a lot of ability to send texts once it really picks up.

For me, I was group texting my closest friends right up until I started pushing. But I also had an epidural and gloriously felt no pain so that's why it was so easy for me. Everyone is different for sure. Either way, I hope things are progressing good for her! |

thatgirlrachel, you are a rock star haha! I can't even imagine. I think she is trying to avoid an epi if possible.

I've not been in labor but I don't think there is a lot of ability to send texts once it really picks up. or dh confiscated my phone. Lol. Mag headache has started to set in. Yay! (NOT) DS is giving the monitors and nurses a fit. He won't be still for them to keep his heart rate. I'm pretty out of it and drowsy. Not completely incoherent. Just unable to talk really. I can think thoughts. But getting them from my brain to my mouth is hard. Lol. Typing is easier though. Just waiting to progress. So far I'm managing the pain fine. Certain positions are easier. But it's harder for them to track him. So it's a balancing act of comfort vs monitors. |

Ugh I'm sorry you got the Mag headache. It is seriously the worst. Mine lasted about 12 hours. Thankfully the 24 hours after delivery passed in a pain killer induced haze, so no headache.

But I also understand that many people do unmedicated births and the *last* thing on their mind is picking up their phone. I have respect for anyone who goes through that! |

They started her on Pitocin about 90 minutes ago, making contractions stronger/longer but doesn't seem to be moving things along much faster. Yet!

Doing GREAT. He is in nicu and has to stay until Monday (35wks). But so far, he's doing everything he should be doing!! No oxygen. Open warming bed. Little oinker downed 17ml right off the bat. (No wonder I was so hungry this pregnancy...he likes to eat!!!)
