#4 for O17 babies - SSM

So I have been at the hospital for bp monitoring since Tuesday afternoon. We went ahead and did steroids just in case. They weren't happy with my bp readings. So they decided to start me on some bp meds yesterday. Overnight my bp spiked to 181/104 and then again 190/99 even on bp meds. I have had a minor lingering headache that gets worse and then lessens since Tuesday, nothing major but it hasn't gone away with sleep, Tylenol, or soda. My labs are still checking out okay, but the combination of the severe bp readings and the lingering headache (which may or may not be an issue other than high bp), they are considering this severe pree. They aren't comfortable letting me continue past this point. I am too much of a seizure risk with these spiking bp readings.

All that being said...as soon as a bed in l&d opens up, I will be headed to begin induction. He is 34.3. Our goal was whatever past 34 we could get. It isn't ideal or what I REALLY hoped for. But, it is too much of a risk with these bp readings.

I will have to be on mag for labor and 24hrs after.
I have no idea what things will look like for him. I expect some nicu/special care nursery time at least for monitoring. And he will spend some time there because he can't be alone with me while I am on mag...so if dh has to leave for any reason, he can't stay in the room with me.

So I'm still waiting on a room....bp has been normal (140/90s) so far today. It usually spikes later in the evening. So in that sense, I'm still okay.

I went ahead and ordered dinner. I don't know when they will get me into a room. So I figured even though I'm not really hungry, I better eat while I still am allowed. Lol. Once they get me started, it is only liquids like broth, water, soda....hopefully dinner arrives before they take me over.

Dh has napped some. I haven't been able to settle myself enough to sleep. But I have rested.

Oh and a random volunteer lady was coming around handing out fresh baked cookies....who's going to refuse a still warm chocolate chip cookie?!?!
