Cass was really upset after preschool the other day because "I've been going to preschool for a while (3 days) and I still haven't met who I'm going to marry." Lol! Adorable!

joelies remind me why you guys are waking him up MOTN? This is some kind of PT attempt, right? Sorry your day is off to a rough start. I'm annoyed with your H by just reading that. Yeah, it was a suggestion made to "train" a heavy sleeper to start waking up on his own. Except all it's doing is training US, he's not getting up on his own at all. tgrimes - I WANT to be breezy about night training because honestly, I think he'll get it when he's ready. DH is being a stubborn butt about it, which makes me even madder because he's never bothered actually talking to the pediatrician or doing research. He just keeps circling back to "I was potty trained at 2!". This is not a damn competition. Tell him that my C who was day trained at the exact same time as your C is still in pull ups too and will be for the foreseeable future.

wedding I don't care much if other kids have treats. I don't pack lunch for Cass, but for Maddie I usually give her a small little treat each day. Today she got a Tootsie Roll and that will make her day. The other day it was literally a mint from a restaurant and that made her happy. I know some kids have eating issues so parents may just be trying to get calories down them however they can. Maddie doesn't eat much so I'm going to start sending her peanuts for fats. She won't eat sandwiches (PB is not allowed and will only eat bread with cheese) and we can't have anything that requires heating so no pasta. She usually just has crackers and cheese, 2 fruits (the only cold veggie she'd eat is carrots so I usually just try to get her to eat veggies for dinner), yogurt, and a drink. All she has been eating is the drink, cheese, and crackers.

joelies, MH used to do that. "Well, my mom said I was potty trained at 16 months" and "well, I was walking by 9 months". Were you now? Really?!?!? And even if you were, every kid is different!

Also, inthekitty... I get C sunflower seed butter or Wow butter. Both are peanut free and he likes them! It's a good substitution for the pb and j at daycare.

Why do men pull this shit? It's so aggravating. It's like being part of a FB mom group talking about how advanced her kid is...but they're bragging about themselves.

joelies Tell YH to STFU. lol. There's no reason everyone should suffer just because he was "potty trained at 2." M doesn't wake up to pee in the MOTN. Sometimes she wakes up dry and sometimes she doesn't. We limit her fluids at night and she pees before bed.

I just get sick of trying to be creative for the kids because more and more things they used to eat they say they won't eat them anymore. I still offer different things at dinner and sometimes Maddie will try a bite, but at school it's like Groundhog's Day and I don't care. They both asked for the same soup last night so I made it and then they pissed and moaned about eating it.
ETA: And regarding sunbutter, I can almost guarantee Maddie would not eat it. She usually picks at PB sandwiches (Cass is better about eating them). The main way she'll eat PB is if it's on celery and she'll lick it off and leave the celery.

I get so tired of the food refusal too. So annoying!

Personality-wise, he and Colin couldn't be more different. Let it go, DH. I think I'll bring it up with the pediatrician at Chase's 18 month appointment in front of DH. He tends to be pretty reasonable and DH may actually listen to him.

MIL told me (bragging? Warning? But I held my tongue.

Thanks for the commiseration ladies. My girlfriend just texted to see if I wanted to get sushi for lunch. I'm going to work my butt off to get everything done so I can go and I'm probably going to have wine too. So hopefully I'll be in a better mood by the time DH gets home tonight.

I don't understand. How did the shooter kill someone three days ago and isn't in jail? I thought they haven't found him yet. No? Maybe I'm confused too. Haven't found him yet.

we pay $600/month for someone else to potty train our kids. I would totally pay for someone to night train him - someone come take all my monies! Especially if you can do it without making him feel badly. He's great during the day and hasn't had an accident in ages. But night time, man...

We still have a few friends with 5 year-olds who sleep in pull-ups. Basically, I see no reason to push it. If he's not ready, waking him up MOTN won't change that. I wouldn't keep trying to squish a square peg in a round hole, personally.
