Who's having one? Who's not? Who's planning it for you? Literally tell me everything!

Nobody had mentioned one to me so I just assumed everyone was too busy. I've gotten my butt into high gear and honestly we're close to having everything we need for the baby. So DH went to lunch with his family last week while I was working and when he came home, he told me that they're planning a surprise shower for me. They asked DH to make a guest list and he said it was too much pressure...so he kept it a secret all of maybe 45 minutes. I told him to have his family contact my mom because she volunteered to help with the guest list and finances.
I'm working on my "oh my gosh, I'm so surprised" face, lol and trying to stop buying EVERY SINGLE baby item I see. I'm not going to know any of the details on my shower until it happens so that's why I'm asking about yours!

This is baby #2, so I don't plan on having one. No one has offered, but I would decline if they did. We are lucky to have most everything we need.
My "registry" at target is private and really just full of the few storage/curtains/etc ideas that are really for DD's big girl room. If it's a boy, we will need to buy some boys clothes at some point, but newborn clothes were all pretty neutral since we were team green last time too.
Enjoy your surprise shower!!

My sister, mom, and friends threw me a shower for my 1st and my work threw me one(our work showers are like a 1/2 hour thing during office hours in a conference room, company provided sheet cake and soda, some people pitch in and get you a combined BRU gift card, nothing fancy). They were both a ton of fun though. My main shower was kind of a Parisian theme with black and white stripes and lots of flowers/floral prints. They put a lot of work into it and it was really special! Glad you're getting one daystardreams, share pictures when it happens! I'd suggest making a BRU or Buy Buy Baby registry of some things you like so guests have something to reference and then you can get the rewards and completion discount (if you haven't already). Since these are babies #2 and 3 I'm not having a shower. My sister and 2 of my friends did offer, but I told them I'd rather just do a girls day to get our nails done or hair blown out sans kids. I was just going to text my SILs and a few friends and see if they want to come and make appointments for us when I get closer to due date, but they've asked if they can plan it. So I'm just trying to make it clear that it's not a shower, just a day to relax before the babies get here. I did create a babylist that I've been using to keep track of things I want/need (since it's twins I have had to buy more gear) and an Amazon registry so that I can get the free baby box that they're supposed to send.

I had a registry too that just had the stuff I want to buy on it. I've thrown some more generic stuff on it like mittens, hats and receiving blankets now that I know I'm having a shower. I'm excited to celebrate the baby but I feel weird because I don't *need* a shower either. I've bought most of the stuff we needed second hand so I've managed to get a lot of stuff for cheap. We've also already bought a bunch of the stuff I wanted to buy new. I've never had so much as a birthday party in my life and it seems weird to be like "Hey, I know you so come buy me stuff." But I'm just going with the flow!

I work in a preschool and I was kind of surprised that we don't do baby showers at work since we're so kid related but there have been lots of pregnant ladies and no showers!

We are having two. My family is hosting a small one that will be my side + friends and coworkers for brunch on October 21 and then we will have one at our church with my inlaws (who go to church with us) and I think they are planning it October 29. The friends/coworkers list was weird to come up with because people have been giving us stuff already and I have more guy friends/coworkers with my job. Girl friends are hard to find.
I got the invite from my family one yesterday and it looks like they are keeping up with our bicycle theme which is cool.
We registered at BRU and Target because Target is really close to our church so I'm guessing people will likely shop there, but BRU has way more options. We also did a secret Amazon one because I've been watching for deals and if you spend $1000 you get $100 in diapers. The only thing that has been bought on it had the full price go to the $1k even though we got it on Prime Day. I just ordered our travel system (Mom is paying me back) so we will see if I get the full price on that too.
There is a big consignment sale in my town the last weekend of September and I plan on going to it to look for books and footie jammies. I'm guessing with a winter baby we will be using a lot of fleece and flannel pajamas.

Baby boy #2 here. Being born in the same season as his big brother. No shower for this one and would decline if someone offered.

My mom, MIL, and best friend are throwing me one on Oct 7 (early because ILs leave for a 6-week cruise on Oct 20). It was never a surprise because I had to be the temporary liaison with MIL to pick the date. I love the invitations Beyond that I don't know much about what's going on at it, but I do know more of my extended family is making the trip than I thought, which is a very nice surprise. Also, SIL will come down with my brother and nephew and they're staying with us, so bonus nephew time makes me super happy!!! We're registered at BBB and Amazon. We thought about BRU (both are near us) but the BBB is easier to get to and I found their customer service better.

We don't have a BBB in my area (small town problems 😭😭)
But I did do my Target registry online and went in yesterday to get my bag. They didn't even ask for my name so that means I can get another one if it's a different service clerk, right? 🤔

My sisters want to do a Sprinkle but since this is my 4th and 3rd boy, I would be embarrassed to have one. My sister got a lot of new stuff for her 3rd who is 10 months now that she's giving me- car seat, swing, bumbo, tub. II still have my crib and high chair and my daycare lady has my pack n play and jumperoo. I don't have clothes anymore but I figure with this kid coming just before Christmas, I will buy stuff and put it under the tree. I can't not give him presents with the other kids around anyway.

My BFF is super excited about throwing me one so I will stay out of her way and let her plan it all. We haven't bought anything yet but we already have two huge bags of toys and books from the same friend.

My mom is throwing me a shower at her house on October 1st. The invitations are so cute, I definitely cried when I got mine (this is not my info): My MIL wants to throw me one in Ohio as well, but this has been up in the air until I get more info on the vasa previa. Her current stance is that if I still can't travel and have the baby early, she will have a shower after its arrival. I am very uncomfortable with this concept and would rather not, but she is insistent. I'm choosing not to worry about it right now, since the potential combo of preemie baby + holidays will likely push that off into the far future. I registered with Babylist - I always liked it when friends used that registry because I could sleuth for the best deals/coupons myself!

This is my 2nd boy in 2.5 years so we are set on all of the things. My grandma is being insistent on having something so I made a joke that it can be a lunch, at a restaurant, and no presents EXCEPT my grandma buying us the SNOO. (It's over $1000 which is laughable.) My mom wasn't amused by that joke. I like the idea of having a girls day where we get our toes did and have a nice lunch.

I went and got a used rock n play and even that seems like a bit of a waste! lol.

I am nervous about the lack of sleep and chasing a toddler but I just don't think I can justify that price for less than 6 months, like you said. We also put E in his crib at 2 months so if we follow that route then he'd use the SNOO for even less time! EEK.

I know Cher swears by it, but let's be honest she is a little more flexible financially than most. I also worry about sleep, but N didn't sleep through the night until 2.5 years old, and I am starting to feel sleep deprived already, so I must be getting ready for the lack of sleep. I hope this is a better sleeper than his brother but $1000+....???? I just can't justify that no matter what. I'm pretty sure if I even suggested that to my husband (who needs more sleep than I do to function) he would have a heart attack.

I was just telling my sister and SIL the other day, we don't want to do any gift exchanging this year since the babies are probably going to be born sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas and especially if they have a NICU stay it's just too much. They were kinda like well yeah right we're buying those babies gifts. So I feel like people are going to be buying them stuff even though we aren't doing a shower or sprinkle.

This is my second so I'm not having one, but I do have a secret Amazon registry for the few things that we do need just for the completion discount! 😊 This is me too! Amazon's discount was so good! I also used and loved babylist. We had a Ba-By-Que for our first hosted by my bestie and my sisters on her rooftop. Co-ed, chill, very much enjoyed. My husband was like "so, are we doing another shower?" because he liked it so much. I told him we could throw a meet the baby party after she is here. Perhaps our (new) traditional 7 fishes party, if we feel up for that many people in our house with a baby.

So, the SNOO is basically like a Bassinest, but 3x+? Pass. That said, I did spend $$$ on the Bassinest when I realized after staying at my parents' house that L slept better if she was closer to me and I could touch her. I would pay nearly any amount of money for more sleep. I just don't think it's necessary to spend that much to get the same effects.

My sister is throwing us a diaper party. She likes to throw parties. We have had both a boy and girl so we are set on clothes, and I just had a baby last year. So yeah, we are set on most things. But everyone needs diapers so I accepted. I am going to have 2 in diapers....

2nd here, so none for me. We don't need anything. DD moved into her toddler bed/toddler furniture. Baby boy gets her old baby stuff. She was a November baby and we mostly dressed her in gender neutral sleep-n-plays in the very beginning. If we need any more clothing I'll probably get it 2nd hand. I do need to figure out a double stroller at some point, but it's not an immediate thing.

Well my mommy group surprised me with a small sprinkle yesterday! I had no idea and would have declined if they would have asked me, but I am very appreciative of their generosity. They are so sweet. They got the baby a few gifts, and even pooled for a small gift for DD (we all have N15 kiddos). So thoughtful!

My work wanted to throw a joint shower for me and another girl who is a FTM, so we're doing that next week. Hopefully it's just a small get together. I feel bad when co-workers are obligated to buy gifts for me, and at this shower, they're having to buy two presents!
And my sister and BFF wanted to throw me a small one at a restaurant or something, so I said okay. We kept everything from when DS was a baby and we have absolutely everything we need right now, but I know that our families like the tradition of it and want to get some small things for the girls.
It's kind of funny because my family is very anti-baby shower for second kids, but they're totally down for second baby showers for twins lol.

tatorhead328, that makes a lot of sense! You had a singleton, you have stuff for one baby. You're having two babies at once, I would think you do need more stuff!
