When i was catching up on yesterday's randoms, i saw someone mention having trouble naming their baby. Which i totally get. I wanted a girl because it would be easier to name. So, what are your name ideas or name requirements? We can maybe help each other name our spawn.

We chose a boy and girl name last time, before we found out DS was a boy, so I think we'll just go with that. *snip*

I like less common names. I grew up with a very common name, so i was always Jessica T* in class, and i don't want that for my kid, so i try to pick names out that haven't been in the top hundred for a few years. We also like names that mean something. DS is named after a historical religious figure and his middle name is FIL's name and DH's middle name. All we know for sure for this spawn is that his middle name will be Martin, which my grandfather's, dad's, and brother's middle name.
*not my real name.

We haven't really broached the subject yet because I know we'll have trouble deciding - boy names were harder for us the first time around too, though I love the name we picked for DS (Oliv.er).
The "rules" we have are the first name is 3 syllables and doesn't start with D. Middle name for #2 will be Sc.ott (family name).
Some names left over from deciding #1 (but none I'm dead set on) are: Elijah, Nathaniel, Theodore, Everett, Gabriel, Isaiah.

On the flip side, I have a somewhat uncommon name. There were no other my names in my school type of thing but you'd know my name. I like it now, but it devastated me when I was younger because I could never find one of those little license plates with my name.

We have a first name (Caelum) picked out but not a middle name. It was the boy's name we picked out when I was pregnant with DD.

Background for choosing the name for DS1 - we had Oliv.er picked out before we were expecting. Then once I got pregnant, a casual neighborhood friend had her first and named him Oliv.er. I flip flopped through the whole pregnancy about loving the name but not wanting to seem like we were stealing their name. Right before he was born they moved to another state, which cemented for me that I could use the name and went with it.
They just had their second child (a girl) and named her Elli.ot. That was one of my top contenders for a boy, but now I'm again in the position of feeling like I can't use it, even though we are only FB friends and never really talk.
If we go with Elli.ott for #2 I feel like I'd need to defriend them first hahahhaa.

We are set on Alex.ander Mic.hael. We like classic names. Thank goodness we are having a boy because we are not even in the same realm for girl names. Same problem as last time.

Boy names are hard. I've combed through about a thousand names and not one jumped out at me. We have a running list but only two I'd ever actually consider.
Middle name will be David. My dad's middle name.

I think we've decided baby 2 will be Claire. Middle name for sure will be Evelyn after my grandmother but the first name isn't set yet. I love Claire but H isn't completely sold... yet. arimaythea Oli.ver was one of our top names for a boy. I say go with names you love - so if El.liot is it than go with that. But I'm like you, they probably would be defriended first.

That was me that posted that- the struggle is real! We had a boys name picked out so obviously it's a girl haha
I love Li.la but DH isn't convinced. I am trying to get him to make some suggestions, so we will see.

DH and I haven't even talked about names yet, it's really hard for us to agree. I like uncommon, older style names. He likes more... unusual names. Neither of our kids had names figured out till after being born a while. We will likely start talking about names once we know the sex, in 2 weeks. I think a girl would be easier to agree on a name.
DD is Gwen.yth De.lia and DS is He.nry Barr.ett

We haven't decided, but are leaning towards Ed.ward Mic.hael. middle name is my dad's name, and since DD has FIL's name for her middle, I wanted my family in the new baby's name somewhere.
I also like Ow.en Mic.hael. I haven't asked H about it. Naming boys is hard.

We have scoured some apps and our in no way final list currently is:
Girls: Stella, Willa, Hallie, Eleanor
Boys: William, Charlie, Wyatt, Simon
We used a family middle name for DD (Martha, which was both my grandmother's names). If #2 is a girl I'm not sure what the middle name will be, but a boy's middle name will be Ar.jen after DH's grandpa (also DH's middle name, it's Dutch)

I am trying to get him to make some suggestions, so we will see. Love Lila! This was my girl name if DS 1&2 were girls. My love comes from Sweet Valley High books/board game from when I was younger. I always had such blonde envy and Lila was their brunette friend! Go for it! My H's issue was that he thought it should be Lyla. No.

For some reason I'm digging Wendy lately but can you do Wendy from Gwenyth (which I like a lot mommabakes) instead of Gwendolyn? Michael is my favorite boy name of all time! Didn't use it the first two times because my cousins son is Michael but they live across the country and I see him maybe once every 3 years so now I know better and I don't need to avoid it.

Wow, there are a lot of really great names mentioned here! O17 has excellent taste! Add us to the "haven't discussed much" group. Way back when someone mentioned the baby name app DH and I both downloaded it and connected our accounts. We have had 6 matches total... and two of them were variations of DS' name, one was my name and one was DH's. Oops. I like Harrison or Everett for a boy. Our last name starts with an H though and I don't know how I feel about the alliteration yet. For middle name I would like to use Albert for my grandpa. DS has DH's name for his middle, so I'd like this one to honor my family. As for a girl name....? Greta was our front runner last time, but I don't know if it still will be. At least we have some time yet!

I'm sad we can't use the girl name we've had picked out for life 5 years. I also like traditional names.
We actually got DS's name from a name poll on Feb 15. I knew the middle name would be Mich.ael, since that's DH's middle name, but I couldn't decide on the first name. I saw Nat.han on a poll and loved it.
For this one, we picked Lu.cas Anth.ony. I knew I wanted the middle name to be Anth.ony for my dad. One name we tossed around last time was Lu.cas, so we went with that. We'll call him Lu.ke.

DS has H's father's first name as his middle name, so this baby will have one of my parents' names for their middle name.
For first names, we like Clay.ton for a boy (will call him Clay) and Ains.ley for a girl. We're 99% certain these are the final choices.

I asked DH to start looking at boy names, preferably 3 syllable ones. He found a list online of over 1,300 3 syllable boy names and said he wants to look at all his options before deciding. *ded* lol.
