misskilljoy - hoping everything checks out for you! I second taking a nap if you can. clucky - this has not been your week for bodily fluids. You deserve all the ice cream and maybe a hotel room to yourself for a peaceful night!!

When we got in a crash during my first tri the ultra sound tech said part of why they bring you in is to check for placental abruption, even if you feel fine. Fingers crossed you're all good! Yeah exactly, that's what the doc just said. I have to be here four frigging hours. Ew. Hopefully you have something to distract you and everything is fine. I think you made the right call even though it sucks.

I have 51% on my phone so it'll last me a while anyway!

Ugh, I'm sorry misskilljoy. I hope everything is uneventful, even if it is annoying that you have to go in.

And also à jackass who won't stop moving. XD Uneventful is a good word for it all. I even had a normal BP reading (on the second try).

We are home! We didn't eat lunch so H went to go pick up something for linner.
The first thing I did when I got home was change my tablecloth and runner to the fall ones. #priorities
I also had a pumpkin spice frap at the airport! I forgot that my usual is an iced coffee with 2 pumps of pumpkin spice syrup instead of classic, I will probably do that next weekend.

Warning: super selfish whine ahead...
My shower is Saturday. I put 65 things on my registry. Mostly all essentials like bottles, burp cloths, onesies, etc. with a few big ticket items. There's still 50 things that haven't been bought. I'm so worried I'm going to get a ton of outfits and things I don't really need at the shower.
As it is, I already know my MIL went rogue and bought whatever she wanted from Amazon rather than using my registry.

I did, however, end up with a lot of outfits nonetheless... hopefully you get things you need. Or at least outfits you can return for store credit so you can buy things you need.

We loaded our registry with essentials and got like four items off it. The rest was all clothes, a million homemade blankets, and way too many bath kits. I was pretty annoyed afterwards and we ended up having to go out and buy like our whole registry. I was a total whiner about it.

As it is, I already know my MIL went rogue and bought whatever she wanted from Amazon rather than using my registry. This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Making a registry is a pain in the ass (I spent WEEKS researching everything for my first kid). People really SHOULD buy from it. I'm sitting on this bench with you. If a mom to be or bride to be has a registry, I always purchase items from it. I may also get something registry inspired for them, but the bulk of the gift is from the registry that she and her partner likely painstakingly put together. I understand the "but you cannot dictate what gifts people buy you" argument, but then don't make a registry. GR. Also, I hate getting gifts so it's already an awkward dance for me personally. I love giving though

misskilljoy, I hope the boredom of the 4 hour hospital stay is the worst part of the whole car accident! I'm glad to hear baby is acting normal yet very active

Then potentially hitting up Michael's. I'm going to try to do more harvest theme this year rather than Halloween so I can just leave it until Thanksgiving lol.

Women that age (50s+) do tend to go off-registry more. You'll probably get a lot of clothes, upside is most places will let you exchange for credit so you can buy what you really need.

bethkate I would be upset about that too. Hopefully people just forgot to scan the registry but like others have said you can usually return items and get credit to buy what you need.

Sunday he got home and said "I wasn't even sure how to respond." ETA, I'm having a chocolate, cinnamon shake once these kids are in bed, because I'm not sharing.

bethkate so I went and added everything that was purchased and I really didn't want or need to my registry, marked as purchased and returned. This is also why either my first we didn't tell gender, people don't like buying green and yellow outfits. Plus nothing gets personalized or monogrammed (which I hate).

My tablecloth us neutral, with a burnt orange table runner with gold leaves. I do have a couple Halloween decor items, but it is mostly just fall.

I'm a weirdo and was a little annoyed that most of the gifts I got at my shower were from my registry. I was looking forward to getting cute little outfits and things that I didn't think of. You may be surprised bethkate. I want to say I got several things that weren't marked. I know I got some duplicates that way too.

Thanks for not making me feel like a spoiled brat, ladies. . I'm sure there have probably other things that have been bought just without the person scanning the registry. FX I'm also able to return anything we don't want to get the things we need.
