Happy Labor Day weekend everyone! Hope you are getting your grilling on and enjoying the close of summer 😀 Also, fingers crossed none of the O17 babies take the holiday too literally and trigger actual labor - stay put LOs!

Already half-way through Saturday over here. We took DS to an indoor play/activity center today, and it was really fun! Hoping he got lots of energy out so he sleeps well tonight. Other than that - Korean food for dinner, with corn bread that DH just made. Kind of a weird combo, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. And since this is the randoms thread, thinking about Korean dinner made me remember one of my favorite gifs - the kimchi slap. Enjoy 😀 - my Labor Day weekend present to you all.

Off to DC today. I think my friend has a something baby something planned for me because even though this was a planned in advance trip, everything has gone wrong in regards to us making it up there but she won't let me reschedule.
So, we are off just as soon as H gets home and hopefully we are there by noon!

I feel like I fell off the face of the internet the last few days. I got my observation for work this week so I was trying to be crazy prepared for that as we have a new principal so I don't know her style or what she is looking for beyond the basics outlined on our form. I think it went well and I'm happy to have it over with!
H, DD, and I drove up to my parents for the long weekend. This will be the last time we make the trip before baby arrives which is crazy to think about. H and I are gonna sneak out for a movie and dinner tonight.

DD was born ON Labor Day in 2015. She's so cliche. 😂
We are preparing for DD's second birthday party this weekend by getting the house ready and doing some work outside. Her party is the 9th. I need to remind myself not to overdo it this weekend, although that probably won't happen.
I went to Costco yesterday and picked up some boxed ice cream. I've never gotten ice cream from there (besides the soft serve up front!) because it's pretty expensive. But OMG it is so good! It's creamy and rich and just amazing!

Sounds like everyone has fun weekend plans!
The boys and I are starting feel better.
DS2 is the opposite of most kids and refuses to sleep when sick so this week has sucked. Thursday night he woke up 3 times and then up for the day at 4:30. I literally started crying. Guess I'm not ready for a ready for a newborn!
In better news, we had a bar built for our basement and they are going to begin to install it today. This is H's baby. He has literally thought of everything including custom coasters, matches and napkins. This is basically the equivalent of his wedding.

Busy weekend here for this procrastinator. Spackling the walls and painting the ceiling in the nursery today. Tomorrow is mowing, groceries, putting up painter's tape, and a cookout at my great aunt's house. Then Monday we paint the walls of the nursery green. Whew! I really hope we get all this done.
Also, I need to remember to call La-Z-Boy. There was a note on the receipt of the rocker we bought saying "if the price goes down in 30 days, we'll refund you the difference". Figures all their Labor Day sales emails have been "come into the store to find out what secret sales we are having!"

No big plans for the weekend, we have a few projects to finish around the house and I want to take DD somewhere but of course we haven't figured that out yet.
I'm trying to get some of DD's fall wardrobe bought but I'm the worst at this. I bought a bunch of cute tops and now I have to figure out bottoms. It's the most random assortment of clothing, I need to get on board with capsule wardrobes they sound so much easier.

Good morning all. I'm about to roll out of bed for some coffee and a chocolate chip muffin. DD is playing quietly in her bed but she'll be getting antsy soon. We have a birthday party to go to at 1:00 and then we plan on watching football all day after. H is grilling wings and I'm doing a veggie platter because yum.

Happy long weekend. I'm going to try to pack up some of our house this weekend. We signed a contract on a new construction about a month ago and we decided that we'll sell our house and move in with my parents until the new house is built (April/May 2018).

We signed a contract on a new construction about a month ago and we decided that we'll sell our house and move in with my parents until the new house is built (April/May 2018). We did exactly this (pre kids though) and it was great! Saved lots of money that we put straight towards our down payment which was awesome! We were lucky and able to store our stuff for free at DH's parents house in their unused basement and we lived out of 2 rooms at my parents house. It was actually kinda nice to share dog walking, cooking and cleaning duties for a few months haha

Today is project day at our house! We need to dump the kiddie pool, pull some plants from my pots that are done for the summer, plant a new shrub, tether DD's new dresser and install curtain rod etc. Her birthday is Friday and part of her present is a new big girl room. But I'm working tues-fri so I need to get organized for the transition of clothes etc too! Hoping to do it Wednesday and Thursday evenings once she's asleep

I have had the slightest bit of bloody show this morning. I'm not even sure I can call it that but there have been specks of bloods few times when I wiped today. Baby is moving fine so I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now.

thatgirlrachel, that's the type of thing I'd call the off-hours line for just for piece of mind. Not to say you should worry, but I do think that is worth letting them know about.

It hasn't happened since early this morning and it was really only a few specks. If it happens again I will probably call just so be safe.

I went to bed and then thought more about it and came back to reply quickly. Good to hear it was only a few specks. If it is the bloody show, I wonder if it might be an indication that you are dilating or your cervix has shortened? I'm not a doctor, but I'd probably want to inform my doctor just in case. How many weeks are you again?

I still havent seen another sign of it yet.

I still havent seen another sign of it yet. Did they seem like hard flecks/dry flecks or runny? I don't really have any insight but I had hard/dry flecks often with DS1 but early on like teen weeks and it wasn't anything. It never hurts to FYI your doctor to get their input. My SIL that's an OB says it helps them gauge potential deliveries too. Not saying that's happening with you but in general as you guys get later on in our weeks if something could be real they like the potential notice.

I'm nesting like crazy here and I feel a little batty.
It took some willpower this morning to not start washing the baby clothes/sheets/etc but I came to the realization that they will get a little less fresh over the next 7 weeks lol.

It's pouring here today, but H and I are out and about running errands. We struck out buying a washer and dryer, so I'm annoyed by that. On our way now to Buy Buy Baby to gather remaining baby needs.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I appreciate it. I really don't think it's anything delivery or even baby related. Going with my gut here. He's still moving all around and everything else is otherwise normal. H told me I had a red spot down there (like a small razor cut) so I think it came from that. At the very next sign I'll be putting a call in though.

DS did so well at the game last night. My ILs were there and since one of DH's cousins goes to school there and plays football two of DH's aunts were there, too. So not only was DS good, but I didn't have to do anything because everyone else wanted to entertain DS! And we won the game!!! Turned out to be a good night. ILs came over this morning while DH was at school and FIL tore out a dead bush out front and MIL played with DS so I got a few things done. There was a garage sale down the street and MIL and DS found a baby doll. It may disappear though because it keeps giggling and playing music and we can't figure out how to turn it off.

thatgirlrachel, with DS I was getting a bit of blood when I wiped around the same time (later third tri). When I got DH to inspect (the things we make spouses do. . . . ) the whole area was raw and red and bleeding from wiping so much (sorry, TMI!) because I was literally going to the bathroom every 20-30 minutes. I started using wet wipes and that helped. Maybe it's just something like that. FX it's nothing serious.

We sent DS to DH's parents' place to spend the night for a trial run for when we're at the hospital. FX it goes well. If not well. .. we will be imposing on some friends or neighbors. Or DH will have to go home with him at night in which case I'd have to rely a lot on the nurses for help because I'm not going to be very mobile a day or two after a c-section. Oy.

thechickencoop I washed anyways, made me feel like I could check something off the to do list. thatgirlrachel I hope it's nothing! I had some mystery bleeding earlier this week, turns out it was nothing and something similar to what bootsorhearts1 said. Pregnancy is so glamorous.

We went grocery shopping hungry and went way over budget at the fancy grocery store. When the east coaster tells you the fish is fresh and delicious, you have to listen.
We ended up making a seafood pasta with cod, mussels and scallops in a white wine garlic butter sauce. I made have had a sip of H's wine during dinner, it's the first time this pregnancy. It did not disappoint. I have a brownie and vanilla ice cream waiting for me after I put DD to bed. A+ pregnancy eating today.

Day one of spackling and painting the ceiling was a success - at least in that everything we wanted to accomplish today was finished by 8PM. I was fairly useless for those - every time I tried to help I'd get out of breath within 20-30 mins and have to stop. So my day was mostly just entertaining DS and keeping him out of the room while DH was working, which was its own task.
I also called La-Z-Boy and it turns out that this weekend's sale was better than 2 weeks ago, so they are refunding me $121 for the rocker recliner I got for the nursery. I'll take it!
