When was the last time you were here? It gets better and better every year. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else. We lived in Denver and SF for a bit but this will always be home. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk It's been about a year, we took our first family trip for DD's 1st birthday and it was an exhausting whirlwind of family and friends. This visit will likely be the same. I can't wait for the kids to be old enough* for us to go for more than a long weekend and actually spend time exploring the city, doing things that I did as a kid and enjoying some new activities together. *I mean...#2 is still cooking, so it will be a few years yet! I'm just excited If you're driving please bring me 11 cases of assorted La Croix. Thanks friend! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I might be dating myself here, but does all the Canada 150 stuff make anyone else feel nostalgic about Canada 125? I mostly remember being decked out in the official gear that entire summer, hahaha. Yes! It was so exciting. My birthday is in early July - and my grandma helped with the Canada day cake that year. My birthday cake was a mini version of it with the 125 symbol on it.

Picked up a Joe Fresh Canada Day shirt for DD yesterday. She saw it today and insisted on wearing it because she loved it so much. Wanted to wear it to bed. Their Canada Day stuff is pretty cute! Excuse the water stains, she was running through the sprinklers at the park.
*poof*

So many Canadians! Love it! Another one from Toronto here. We'll be doing the same thing we do every year, friends of ours host a big red & white themed backyard bbq/potluck. Then, if the weather is nice, we'll probably head up to my family's cottage for the rest of the long weekend.

So far I've bought a tshirt for each kid from Joe Fresh/Superstore.
I want to go see the fireworks but H thinks our youngest is too young for them (he'll be ~17 months then).
Other than that, I don't know

I guess I'll be heading to Joe Fresh this week for a few of those t-shirts for the kids!

From the GTA, not planning much. Have a really good fireworks display in my town so will watch it. Otherwise not sure, zoo's closed so can't do that this year. Maybe it'll reopen by then! What do you mean the zoo is closed??!? Like, just for that day or for some time? Please don't tell me it's flooded like the islands! (< joking, I know the zoo wouldn't be flooded)

mapleme I saw you liking things in here. You might have the best SN ever. Ha! Thank you! I live in Vermont and own a bakery that sweetens primarily with maple syrup. I did get a little panicky as to why I was being tagged into a thread that I've been lurking and contemplating commenting but hadn't yet commented in!

I'm not Canadian, but I'm going to be visiting my SILs family outside of Ottawa for Canada Day and the week after. We've got local (to them) plans for Canada Day, but we have a lot of time to ourselves the following week when they're working. We've got a 11 month old and a 3 year old. What would be some fun things for us all to do? We're going to be near Gatineau, but obviously can drive places.

Museum of Nature is a bit old for your kids unless one of them has a serious dinosaur passion. Mont Cascade used to be the big waterpark in the area but the new park, Calypso, stole most of their business. As a result Mont Cascade is really cheap now (like $8 an adult) and their small kids area is pretty good. The McKenzie King estate is beautiful for a hike and a picnic, great picture taking area too. Brewer Park in The Glebe across from Carleton U (Bronson Ave) is one of the best parks in the city. Structures for all ages, an awesome splash pad with a water slide, lots of shaded areas and tables for picnics, and a farmer's market on weekends. Get a Suzy Q's donut for me

Just seeing this thread now! I live in the prairies and happy to see all the other Canadians here! Two of our friends are having a joint (adults only) all day birthday thing, so we'll be going to that. I'm hoping to go a bit later so we can do some Canada day stuff in the city (friends live a little out of town) with DS before dropping him off at my parents.
I had bought him a cute tank top last year for Canada day and he still fits it, so that'll be his outfit.

I just ordered some Canada Day dresses for my two girls and a Canada tshirt for the little guy from Children's Place. So excited to give it to them on our camping trip, they will LOVE having special clothes for the occasion.
