How old is your DD? If she's older than mine, maybe it's just the baby/toddler clothes. My daughter is 2.5 and she's off the charts for height but 50th percentile for weight. The only clothes that consistently fit her well are Carter's. She's 6 This gives me hope for the children's clothes! I always love their stuff and am bummed it doesn't fit DD.

Oh wow. So glad you're here now! Yes a dayhome is an in home daycare. I'm learning it's a term more common in the prairie provinces. We say dayhome as well (Newfoundland) Edit - not sure what I did to the quote

Soooo this thread has made me realize 3 things:
1) DD currently has no Canada clothes that fit. Whoops. 2) My Canada Day shirt will also not fit this year, because pregnant. 3) We might actually be in Toronto the weekend before the holiday, (currently living in the U.S.), which means I will be able to remedy the first 2 and stock up on all my favourite treats!

...but to answer the ACTUAL question, no idea what we'll be doing for the holiday. I should check in with my expat meetup group, I'm sure they will have something planned

Probably working for a portion of the day, and then we usually barbecue with friends. I'm "that person" with the maple leaf paper plates and colour scheme of red and white. Plus the kiddos always get a t shirt from Old Navy or somewhere. #patrioticaf Lol I love how our patrioticAF= americas doing the least.

Add my kids to the list of those wearing JF gear. I got the older two some cute maple leaf ball caps from roots and bunnyhugs as well. We don't have any firm plans yet - possibly at the IL's cabin but the lake there will be busy af. My hometown has some cool stuff planned and my brother ends up working at the exhibition every year since his MiL is the director, so maybe we will end up there. At least I know what we are all wearing 😂

I'm not sure what we'll be doing yet but I would definitely like to get DS out to see what's going on around town! He's almost 2 so he's just starting to appreciate going out and doing fun stuff! I also got him some cute stuff from carters, but I'll have to check out the JF.
Speaking of Superstore has anyone tried the maple marshmallows? I keep seeing ads but can't find them in stores!

I love the term bunnyhug. I'm not from sask so I can't get away with it but it's so charming 🙂

FYI, just went to Loblaws and their $8 toddler clothes are 2/$12, similar deal for kid clothes. Picked up a Canada tee for DD and a ton of capris and shorts since I can size down in the waist and not worry about length.

Canadian in America here. Usually we have a Canadian things only party ... beer, music, food etc ... while all decked out in our Canadian gear. Even my American husband participates. But this year I'll either be super pregnant or have a brand new baby, so we don't really have anything planned. Although I'd be ok with a Canada Day baby!

No plans for Canada Day so far other than the Joe fresh shirts I just got. I'm considering bringing my kids to downtown festivities this year early in the morning, but MH will propably prefer going to a random park instead.

Friends of ours live in the country with some land just outside the 'burbs and do this huge Canada Day party potluck with a pig roast. The kids all run around and they do a huge fireworks display.
I already got DD a shirt from Old Navy but the Joe Fresh ones are really cute.

Just bought some cute matching shirts for MH, DS and I. Maybe go to my grandparents cottage for a BBQ and then fireworks in the evening!
My grandparents put out a big display every year too with a huge wooden beaver cut out with a maple leaf that says "I love Canada!". Kind of corny but makes it fun for the kids

My cousin is getting married on Canada day and I'm a bridesmaid, so will not be dressed in my usual red and white. Kinda sad to be missing festivities but excited for the wedding.

We will be heading to the Kingston area for a big family reunion. It is SFIL's family and they are some of the most awesome people and throw really great parties on their property. I have much excite.
We usually try to go big for Canada day but I think this one will put anything we have done to shame. Both of SFIL's brothers are career military and extremely patriotic so I cannot wait to see what they put together.

I decided to combine our family camping trip with Canada Day this year. I've had a cabin booked at the local KOA since just after Christmas. They do fireworks and a whole bunch of stuff for the kids, so I figured this way I don't have to worry about figuring any of it out myself!

Even with the KOA I had to keep adjusting our arrival and departure dates until I could find a cabin available. I couldn't believe they had already booked up like that. I'll have to book it in like September next year. lol

Well I've already started off on the wrong foot...I didn't plant my Canada 150 tulip bulbs last fall!
No big plans yet. I'll have to get on that. I'd love to take the girlies to fireworks but at 2 and 4 it's probably not the time for that. It would be a late night and still up at 5:30. Boo!
