Morning lovelies!
I have a long overdue haircut at eight. I might get bangs. Otherwise, I'm sitting on the couch drinking coffee looking for quinoa recipes. Does anybody have a favorite that isn't Mexican inspired? ETA: actually started this thread about five minutes ago with the title What a Wednesday because I was totally convinced it was. Whoops!

guster one of the ladies on N16 was just telling us about an Asian-inspired quinoa dish she made recently that turned out well. If you're interested I can see if she can provide a recipe link?

Morning!
Despite the excellent sleeping weather (rain), both the children were up early. C lasted about 45 minutes before falling back asleep on DH's chest, and is now back in her crib.
No big plans for us today, just staying inside and out of the rain and wind.

flamingo, C got up at 5 this morning! He was wide awake and driving me crazy. Of course he ended up falling back to sleep, right when I needed to get up for work.

guster I've made Mediterranean-inspired quinoa with chopped cucumber, tomato, red onion, parsley with sal/pep and oil/lemon juice for the dressing. Can also add feta to that if you please. Came out great.

Came out great. This is exactly what I found while I was researching. I think it sounds like a great summer meal. flamingo, no need for the and 16 recipe. I'll just Google and get some ideas for asian inspired flavor. Thank you, though!

I did an apple and cinnamon breakfast quinoa last week, and I didn't like the consistency of it. I like overnight oats a lot better. Yes, I was actually looking for a dinner/leftovers for lunch meal

Good morning. C woke up at 6am with a cough and saying he was too sick to go to school. It really wasn't a bad cough and no fever so off to school he went. Of course he skinned his knee in the parking lot on the way in so it was a disaster drop off. I'm not sure if work today is going to be busy or now. Time will tell I guess. My parents are picking C up tonight and meeting us at my house because the electrician is coming to look at the basement and let us know what lights we need to buy to finish. Hopefully it's quick.

Also my mom found power rangers bandaids at the grocery store and the box is almost empty and I can't find them anywhere. If anyone sees them anywhere, I will pay to ship! The kid is obsessed.
eta: and I just found them on Amazon. I couldn't find them yesterday. I need more coffee.

Morning ladies! Today has to be better than yesterday. I got more sleep, but my period started, much to my surprise, in the middle of the night last night. Biggest downfall from quitting birth control is having no clue when it's going to happen.
I've never cooked quinoa, but that Mediterranean-inspired meal sounds great!

We do a similar couscous, with Moroccan spices, spring onions, chopped tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, dried apricots, walnuts and a yoghurt mint sauce. You can add chicken or lam if you like.

Morning btw.
First day back in the office and I'm swamped. No more pumping, so no real time to be here during the day. Boo. Hope your days started good!

Morning ladies! On the shuttle to go to work. I have two walks today to add wifi so hopefully I get my steps in but I will most likely get a golf cart ride. The full team is suppose to be here today so it should be a good day!

I had just been sitting here thinking how nice a chicken biscuit would be and in walks my H with CFA. He's apparently a mind-reader.
They have command PT a couple times/week and we live so close that it's just as fast for him to come home to shower/change as it is to wait for a shower on base.

GM everyone. This is my week of funemployment! Too bad it's a yucky rainy day. I've just dropped off the kids at DC and am finishing a cup of coffee. I plan to get to the gym later this morning. No other plans for today, but do have other self-indulgent activities lined up for the week.

X had his 1 year visit yesterday and he keeps climbing the chart. 98th percentile for height and 94th for weight.
Meanwhile, Dude is on a hunger strike and hardly eating at all. It's ruining my will to live.

cagoldi, last night Cadence said she didn't want spaghetti. What 3 year old doesn't want spaghetti!?! Then she requested salad with ranch. I gave her some, knowing she wouldn't eat it. She of course looked at it and said, "I don't like salad."

cagoldi and klong11 Evie does the same. I hate cooking for that kid. To the point, we may stop for McDonald's on the way home tonight just so she eats something. I made homemade mac N cheese last night, she told me she wanted homemade with the noodles by the stove, okay, I'm thinking I might win. She wouldn't touch it, she only at canteloupe, so at least she ate something, but damn kid!

mwhip, I've got it from both mh and Cadence. It's spaghetti, just eat. She says she wants a sandwich and he says maybe next time I should add mushrooms or blah blah blah. I told him I wasn't a short order cook and he eats what I serve or doesn't eat. They ate the spaghetti after they saw I wasn't playing.

guster I like Whole Foods California quinoa. I think they have the recipe on their website- not positive though. I would only omit the raisins. I like raisins, but they are usually soggy in that quinoa. Your post reminds me that I want to try this peaches and cream breakfast quinoa recipe I found when searching for instant pot recipes. yummeecookee Jealous of your week! I was hoping to get to send the baby to daycare next week so I could have some days to myself and to get him acclimated before I start back. No such luck. Enjoy!!
