It just dawned on me that it's labor day weekend coming up (in the US). Any special plans?

We have a family BBQ next weekend which will be fun. ATM I'm sitting at our rental property getting furnace quotes. I'm bored out of my mind, but so thankful I only have one child with me. The others went to daycare bc I realized I have two days left. A huge waste of a day, but not chasing them around here is 100% worth it. I may try to make pickles later. If I'm not too tired.

We have no plans for the long weekend.
Apparently with nothing holding me accountable it's too easy to ignore my alarm. It went off, I got up turned it off and went back to sleep for an hour and a half. Tomorrow I might set multiple alarms. I'm going to do some dishes and laundry today. And possibly label S's school supplies. I might also look online and price out a printer.

lollipop - careful with printers. They are the devil. The last one we had was not that expensive, but the ink is craaaaazy expensive - and I swear it needed new ink after you printed about 4 things. It wouldn't print black and white if something like magenta was out, either. I hated it with every fiber of my being and threw it in the trash when we moved. I need to get a new printer, but haven't bothered with it yet because I'm still mad about the last one. Ha. I think I'm going to go for a black and white only laser printer this time. I'll run to FedEx if I need a color print.

Plus I have tons of printable stickers and stuff pinned on pinterest. I'm not sure if it would actually be cheaper to print things at the library or not.

M was literally falling asleep on my lap, so input her to bed. And then she cried for twenty minutes and is wide awake. Toddlers.

Five furnaces sales pitches later, I am ready for bed. I briefly thought about making pickles, but once I got the jars I discovered no one has the seasoning. Boo. 5 hours left in my big kid free day. What shall I do?

What shall I do? Sleep!!! Go to a coffee shop and read a book! Mani/pedi!!! The options are endless lol!

Ugh I am so burnt out. I have things I must do but just can't bring myself to do them. And my Hubs just reminded me that daycare is closed Wednesday through Labor Day 😞😒

Yay for rslh!! kcrkcs I feel ya on the burn out. My solution (loose term) was to walk through the house and fill a garbage bag with stuff. I guess that's good? We need to do so much more, but I do t even know where to start.

I did the same thing today while working from home. I got a big trash bag and cleaned out my "office" corner between meetings. I have a big black bag full of things that need shredding. I also organized some files and more drawers. Much more work to do but feeling good about small steps. kcrkcs perhaps start a to do list? Sometimes when I write things down it makes it easier to pick 1 or 2 to do to try to get some motivation and momentum.

My other solution ... dh is getting a to do list. He keeps talking about takin some days off. Well dude, 2/3 of the kids now have school most days. We aren't going far so you have projects to do. 😂

I may have failed miserably at getting up early today, but at least I was productive. 2 loads of laundry; unloaded, loaded and ran the dishwasher, made sure I had lunch, and made supper so it was ready a few minutes after H got home. As a comparison, I usually feed and entertain the kids and do very little else, and I rarely eat an actual meal other than supper.

Over Labor Day we are having some friends over to camp out in our backyard. If the little kids freak out then they can just come inside. We are also going to do some campfire cooking in our fire pit!

I just got a call from my mother, on her iPhone, asking me to mapquest directions for her and call her back. Smh I mapped the directions and texted them to her so she could open it and listen to it while driving. She doesn't know how to do it. Oy. It's a beautiful day today. I think I'm doing yard work. I am amazed by what a little person dd3 is becoming. She helps, she tries to talk (all grunts) and has wants. It's adorable.

I'm trying to clean the grout in my shower. Some is sanded grout and some is caulk. I can't seem to get any of it clean. I've scrubbed with soft scrub wth bleach, oxyclean, thieves cleaner and hot water. I've soaked it. Ultimately I need to reseal it, but I'd like to get the mold stains off first. What am I missing? Other than I should have scrubbed it more thoroughly on a more a more regular basis before this...

lollipop good for you!! You will find you need to go to bed earlier to sustain that though. I know for you that's a big change of schedule. I bet it felt good to do some stuff before the kiddos were up.

I couldn't figure out why she wouldn't just use the maps app on her phone like a normal person. A few weeks ago I made her give me her phone so I could show her how easy it is. Turns out her phone is so old (iPhone 4) that is doesn't support the Apple Maps or Google Maps software. And she claims she's "too cheap" to buy herself a new phone. This is also the woman who just got her first speeding ticket ever and wanted to see if she could do community service to pay it off instead of writing a check. What. Sigh. ETA : affording a newer phone/speeding ticket is not an issue. I would be more sympathetic if it were.

For the past month or so my dds actually play together and it is so awesome. Sure, I have to go see why one of them is screaming at the other one about every 10 minutes, but they can keep themselves occupied together for an hour. Life changing! Yesterday dd1 cried because she wanted dd2 to play with her and dd2 wanted to look at books. Such a nice change after the last year of dd1 wanting dd2 to just go away.

So even though my boss is not making me cancel my vacation plans to come to that meeting in October, I'm seriously considering doing our fall break vacation there....IF I can convince H. He isn't a fan of big cities. But there will be so much we can do with the kids. And I can attend my meeting. Getting my flight and 2 nights in a hotel paid for by my company doesn't hurt things either.

scorpioscuba I may need to try that. It seems so, permanent. It also seems it seals itself? That's kind of awesome.

I bet it felt good to do some stuff before the kiddos were up. S was up before I got dressed lol. But between then and when M got up we both had breakfast, I ran the dishwasher, started the laundry, and meditated. Now I'm struggling to stay awake after being unable to fall asleep last night and needing allergy meds after doing laundry. I'm willing to bet money that I doze off on the couch before H gets home from his game tonight lol.
