dizzycooks $15 to scoop ice cream?! 😲 I have to move to where you live. There are lots of postings here, but because of my schedule restrictions it's difficult to find someone to hire me. And most places that can accommodate my schedule pay $11/ $12/hour. I think I'm going to try temp agencies.

Newmomma posted an update on their home. They had 12 inches of water. Everything on the first floor is a loss. They've cut out the drywall and have to replace the exterior doors, check to see which appliances work, etc. kids lost their toys. We've asked what we can do to help. I just cannot imagine. 😪

From newmomma: I'm not sure how to go about the info. Needs at this point are kids shoes, a few toys, I need work clothes. Our neighborhood/community has been amazing cooking and helping, so I think we are ok with food for now. Kids are in 4T (girl), 2T (boy), size 9/10 shoe (girl), size 6/7 (boy). We are not above hand me downs if it doesn't cost too much to ship them.
If y'all can't send anything, just know the offer means so much that y'all are considering helping us. ----------- If anyone is in a position to help that isn't on FB please let me know and we can figure out the best way to do so.

Seriously? We're flying back on Wednesday, and today DD2 woke up puking with diarrhea. The last time she had the stomach flu it got so bad she needed Zofran to stop throwing up. And now I'm going to be really, really paranoid that one of us is going to come down with it in the plane on the way home

Right now dd2 is sleeping baby-style with her tush up in the air. She hardly ever sleeps like that any more. Still my baby! ❤️

I am so sick you guys. Apparently I'm 50/50 for morning sickness. First two, no problem. The last two? I want to die. It's going to be a long month of this continues. I see my doctor on Wednesday. She's already said she'll give me zofran if it happens again (didn't last time) bc chasing three kids while sick is no joke. On the bright side, dd3 is laying with me all snuggled in. She likes sharing my cheerios I think

crimsonandclover I hope your dd is better. That would make a transatlantic flight even more nerve racking for sure.

DD2 is back to her normal self today and begging and pleading for all sorts of food. But DD3 grabbed DD2's sippy cup when I wasn't looking this morning and drank from it. So that's cool. We already checked with our travel insurance as to how it works if someone has the flu when we're supposed to travel. Thankfully we're all allowed to wait even if just one of us is sick and we just have to provide a doctor's note that that person was not able to fly. Then the insurance would pay the cost of rebooking. However, that only covers scenarios where the bug hits before we leave. If it hits when we're in the air then we just have to tough it out. I am going to be packing lots of spare clothes in our carry-on...

My phone died last night. So my alarm didn't go off. I think tomorrow I'll get up when H does, since I barely have time to go back to sleep between when he leaves and I'm supposed to get up. And then on his days off I'll get up with my alarm.

And then on his days off I'll get up with my alarm. It can also be helpful if you use that time to get yourself ready. It is much easier to get the kids ready when you're not also struggling to eat your own breakfast and get dressed at the same time as them.

It is so smoky and hot here today. It is supposed to be 103 and there are wildfires everywhere. The sky is dark with smoke. We went to the park this morning so we could get out of the house for a bit, but the rest of our Labor Day will be indoors.
I can't remember the last time it rained... early June, I think? I can't wait for fall to get here. This weather stinks.

crimsonandclover and dizzycooks - I hope everyone's tummies feel better and there is no more puking for either of you! Speaking of morning sickness, I was really surprised to hear Katherine and William are expecting a third. After 2 pregnancies with hyperemesis gravidarum, I don't know if I'd have it in me to go through that again. Run of the mill morning sickness is bad enough. 🤢
