The only good thing about Mondays is that it is my ticker change day (35 weeks today!).
What's going on for everyone else?

DD decided to wake up at 4:15 and then not go back to sleep. So so tired.... and volleyball camp starts today and I have a feeling we won't last long because she'll be too tired.

H went to bed early last night and I decided to go on a bit of an Amazon shopping spree to pick up a few things we need for the baby. I also found a good deal on some barely used clothes so I'm going to pick up those this morning. We will probably make a stop at Walmart and the playground once I finish up my coffee.

Baby has decided to do this cool thing where when I get up (aka woken up) in the middle of the night she wants to be awake too. I try to tell her that I'm just gonna go pee really quick and she's all

Our week started off well. DS had fun at school (he learned a new song called the animal boogie has been constantly singing it), and his soccer practice in the afternoon went well. He got spider man AND soccer ball stamps on the back of his hands, which of course he thought was the coolest. 😎
I feel like I am going through that bump stretching phase again...ugh...the bump feels so tight and when the baby moves it's kind of painful. I am 32 weeks, so just a few more of these growth spurts left.....

@curmugeon I hope you guys are doing ok today. I'm not sure where you are but the Canadian news has been mostly covering the Houston area and the flooding is just insane.

Hope anyone here or have family/friends impacted by the hurricane are staying safe!
I meant to check in on the weekend but it was just nuts. We had our maternity/family photos Saturday morning then two birthday parties. I have never been so exhausted. Thank goodness I have a short week and just need to make it through Wednesday and Friday morning at work. I'm in need of a long weekend

My phone decided to quit working. It's a google nexus 5x and it was a really good phone until it wasn't. Did not want to buy a new phone already.

I have acquired the fun that is round ligament pain. And damn does it hurt. It started Saturday and hasn't let up since. It's only on my left side, so little blessings and all of that. Also, baby has been going crazy in my belly lately. It's like he is pissed off that he ran out of room so he will just beat my insides up to make more room. 5 more weeks...I can do this!
Oh, and I also had the maternity leave discussion with my boss this morning. Due to the time of year and limited PTO, I plan on taking 8 weeks. I will have 4 weeks worth of sick/vacation time and the rest will be unpaid. I will return to work for 2 weeks before having another 2 weeks off at Christmas/New Years. 8 weeks doesn't sound like very long, but I only got 6 with DD so this is still better in that sense. I can't believe I'm far enough along to be having that discussion, but I am soooo ready for a work break.

Trying to get the baby's room finished/baby laundry washed and ready. Working on freezer meals too. Full on nesting, I guess!
I thought movement was supposed to start slowing down, but this kid won't stop moving! I mostly love it, but he's pretty violent in there and it actually hurts quite a bit.

Thinking of you curmudgeon. How are things this morning? luckily we got very little rain last night. Our neighborhood has receded quite a bit, but most highways and freeways are still underwater so we can't go more than a 3 mile radius. At least we have enough food because I'm not sure when any businesses will open. The major struggle is keeping a 4 year old occupied on day 4 of being stuck indoors.

Sorry you're stuck inside but I'm so glad your neighborhood is receding curmudgeon! AFM I have an active baby too. Last night I had some ice cream and baby went WILD, it was hilarious. What is crazy to me is where I'm feeling movement; down low and up high at the same time. Just crazy to think about how big baby is getting!

curmudgeon, glad to hear the water is receding in your neighborhood! From what I'm seeing on the news, it looks really bad and they say maybe 50 inches of rain!?! mommabakes, yeah this kid is super active too. It's almost annoying at times. He also likes to punch/kick my cervix while I'm driving and only when I'm driving! AFM, I waited too long to book the newborn photographer I used with DS so I've been scrambling to find another one. I can't believe some people book them as soon as they find out they're preggers. One had an instagram post in March saying she had limited spots for November. I finally booked one which i'm good with. She doesn't have a many elaborate props as my first pick but she's actually much cheaper and her home studio is a closer to me.

I think we are expecting more to come eventually. I'm just not sure when. Some friends north of Houston are expecting more flooding as they release some of the dams. And a lot do not have flood insurance because they are not in "flood zones" and have literally never come close in 50+ years.

Thinking about you, curmudgeon! Stay safe! mommabakes - Movement has been almost non-stop the last couple days. It's insane! CoachTsWife - This may be weird (and I hope not insensitive) but I like to google image the week that I'm on to see how big baby is. They look like real babies now and it's crazy!

DH is usually home with DD on Mondays but he has a crap ton of work to do around the house before #2 gets here. So DD is going to the Children's museum with MIL and FIL today. Hopefully it wears her out!
I threw up in my mouth in the middle of the night because of heart burn. So that's awesome. First time for everything, I guess. (Should I have TMI'd that? lol)
GoT, anyone? How on earth am I going to be able to wait for the next season!?!?

cythe, I have that issue too. I'm like 'shhhh go back to sleep baby. It's 2AM. It's not time for yoga or gymnastics or whatever you're doing'. She doesn't listen. Baby had hiccups twice this weekend it was really cute. Poor baby! Oh and I forgot, at last week's ultrasound they said she already had quite a bit of hair. DS was hairy too. I make hairy babies. Thanks, heartburn! I'm pretending to work but mostly sorting out my leave plan and working in a last round of pedis, waxing and hair appts before baby comes. Do not want hairy nether regions at hospital.

I have a lot of work to do today, but I just want to be outside. The weather is nice and cool right now with that tropical storm off the coast. Apparently it'll get bad this afternoon, though. Boo.

I don't wax, but the morning I went into labor I hopped in the shower to bathe and shave my legs/downstairs before heading to the hospital. H was a basket case and thought I was crazy for taking the time to do it. But it was late fall, so the razor hadn't been used in like a week...I had to do something before showing the whol hospital my junk.

First day of undies at school for DS. I'm checking the app where they post pics of the kids to see if they've had to change his shorts yet. So far so good.

thatgirlrachel, riverraine, That is classic. I love it. I will never forget my waxing technician telling me the story of this hugely pregnanct woman who came in for a brazilian for the first time ever. After watching a live birth video at her birthing class, what horrified her the most was not the pain or the blood but the huge bushy downstairs. So she made an appt the same day to get it all waxed off.

Has anyone tried the Kindred Bravely nursing bras I keep seeing on Facebook ads? They look sooo soft and comfy and I haven't bought a new nursing bra since I had DD. I need to know if these are worth the money.

DD and I went to the zoo this morning, I'm trying to do something special with her every day this week since I'm back at work Friday until the baby comes and I'm working a couple extra days too for the beginning of the school year (normally just 3 days/week)

Despite what I assumed was a good nights sleep, I'm really tired today. Otherwise it was a good day, I'm just ready for an early bedtime.
I also had someone at work tell me "there's no way you'll make it to October, you'll have this baby in a few weeks for sure!" Ummm..... no. That would be dangerous. I want to hold my baby as much as anyone but I'm 33 weeks. She needs to stay put for more than a "few weeks". I try hard not to roll my eyes but on days like today when I'm tired, it took a lot to respond with nothing more than a polite laugh and smile.

riverraine Hope his first day went well! thatgirlrachel I'm shopping for nursing bras too, I haven't tried them but I did add them on Amazon yesterday. I'm off to the chiro, I'm having discomfort when I pick up DD, in my hips, like the tendon or whatever that runs down the front hip bone to the top of the thigh and of course the wonderful lightening crotch. Game of thrones later!
