This poll isn't all that exciting but we haven't had a poll is a while so...
What type of diaper do you plan to use on baby?
Cloth Diaper People, for extra credit, tell me why you love it. I get the environmental aspect but beyond that I can't see the allure but I've also never encountered a cloth diaper mom that didn't evangelically love it so I must be missing something.

We will do pampers sensitive swaddlers through size 1 but I clicked Target because that's the brand we will use for the long haul. Very loyal to their overnight diapers.
For DS1 we used pampers SS through size 4 because I didn't know any better. For DS2 we switched to target at size 2 and I plan to do the same this time.
There's nothing scientific around when we switch. I just associate newborn with the little pampers and their wet strip is better.

We used Pampers. Although to be honest we never tried any others either. We never had blowouts or leaks and it was more of a "don't mess with it if it works" mindset. I probably way over paid for all the other diapers that are out there sonim curious to see what all others used.

Huggies Snugglers most likely. With DD, we used Pampers swaddlers, but found that with DS, Huggies worked better. Eventually we'll switch to Costco brand.

My choice to cloth diaper is a combination of a few factors.
1) Finances - Since we were ttc for so long, I've slowly been accumulating cloth diapers so the initial financial impact feels basically non-existent.
2) SAHM - if I was working, I don't think CDing would be for us. However, since I will be home I'm hopeful I can stay on top of diaper laundry.
3) Environment - yeah, landfills.
4) On the butt factors - Rumor has it that CD babies tend to potty train earlier. Also, CDs contain blowouts more effectively and can have less diaper rash.
So, all that to say it just makes sense for us to give it a shot. If it doesn't work out, it doesn't work out. I try not to be sanctimonious, even though some things I say sound that way. Basically, I'm just living on the YOLO life method.

I will say we've had lots of luck with Target brand and sometimes they have crazy deals like but one box get the second half off.

Pampers for newborn and Kirkland for lyfe. I do care about the environment, I really do, but cloth diapering has never appealed to me. It's just one more thing I have to do (wash diapers) and I'm lazy.

We prefer Pampers, but really, anything that catches the poop works for us. With DS, we started with the bag of Huggies Snugglers they sent home with us from the hospital. Then we went through a few other brands that we received at his baby shower, and overall decided we liked Pampers. I think we used the Swaddlers up to size 3, then switched to Cruisers at size 4 (and are currently using in size 5). We use Amazon Mom through Prime, so the diapers are delivered with our monthly Subscribe and Save delivery (20% off).

I couldn't select two options. So here's my perspective
We CD. I'm sahm. Just makes sense for us. I love it. I already own them. Currently ds1 (3.5yrs) uses 1 disposable per day for overnight pee, but once ds2 is born and we are back to cloth, he will be back in cloth as well.
BUT for church, we will use pampers. Swaddlers for preemie and nb. After that baby dry. I'm the only one at church that uses cloth, so it is just easiest on everyone to use disposables at church.

I wanted to use Honest diapers but they gave DS a rash. :/ Of the boxes we received as gifts we liked Pampers Swaddlers best and used those through size 1 or 2 I think. We tried Luvs because they're cheap and got along fine so thats what we've been using.
I wanted to use cloth initially but it wasn't realistic with working full time and daycare.

I'm on tapa so I can't see the poll. But here goes...
We received a variety when I was pregnant with DD. When she got here and we went through them all, Pampers turned out to be my favorite. Around 9 months, I discovered the Walmart Parents Choice brand of diapers. They were half the cost of Pampers and worked just as well for DD. So, we've been using those ever since. I stocked up on a few boxes of Pampers when their prices dropped so much several months back (for this baby). But we'll likely do the same with him and switch to the generic brand when he gets a little older if they work for him.
We do use Pampers Cruisers for overnight for DD, but the above references everyday use.

I chose whichever is on sale. That's what we did with DS and what we'll do this time. The only time we dealt with leaks was if we didn't put it on tight enough or forgot to point him down. Blowouts are also inevitable and found that they would happen with all brands.
I've been stocking up for months now, so I have a pretty good, mixed stash:
NB 240 1 683 2 728 3 450
This includes pampers, Huggies, luvs, target, CVS, and one box of babyganics.

gamergirl this is going to sound stupid but the subscriptions make me anxious like I'll run out before I need them or the opposite and they will pile up. In reality, how is it?

We have a CD stash from DS so might as well re-use them. I really didn't mind the laundry, it was a small chore in the scope of things. We used disposables when we traveled because it's easier, I'm sure we'll do that again.

I said SS, I use Pampers with DD but I'll try both that and Huggies on sequel to see what fits him better.

I haven't done diapers, but I have done Amazon Subscribe and Save for various things. If you manage it, it's very handy. You can set it to be delivered in whatever increment you need - every month, every other, every 3rd, whatevs. You can also skip a month, if you notice that things are starting to pile up. And, or course if you get low... 2 day shipping for Prime members!

gamergirl this is going to sound stupid but the subscriptions make me anxious like I'll run out before I need them or the opposite and they will pile up. In reality, how is it? This was the other reason we stuck to pampers because Amazon magically delivered them to our door every month. I didn't start till DD was about 3 months because I was worried about running out and I was told newborns go through an insane amount of diapers (I did feel like changed her all the time) and it seemed like DD sized out of newborns and size 1s super quick. It was also super easy to log on and change the size for the subscription. There might have been one time I had to buy a small pack to tide us over but I know it wasn't more than once or twice. Canceling was also breeze.

Another Pampers user here. The only times we really dealt with any leaks or blowouts was when DS needed to move up a size, so they have worked great for us. Another "don't mess with it if it works" sort of decision. I used Swaddlers until DS was mobile, then switched to daytime Cruisers and nighttime Baby Dry.
We also use Amazon Subscribe and Save. When we were using just Swaddlers, the box was usually perfectly enough for a month. Now that we get 2 different kinds, we can go 2-3 months between new boxes. If I don't need them, I just skip the delivery until the next scheduled one. There have been a handful of times where I have run out a few days before a delivery was due, and those times I'd just pick up a small pack at Target to tide me over until the delivery came.

I picked Pampers because we use them for daytime and we actually like Huggies for night time with DD. Pampers Swaddlers for newborn stage until they get too big. We'll see what works for this baby, I don't care as long as they are reasonably priced and there aren't blowouts.
I wanted to CD but H was not on board with it.

Cloth diapering. My reasons are similar to cythe's list 1. Financial -we got them all on good deals with DD and nothing new to purchase now 2. Environmental 3. DD had like 1 diaper rash and no blow outs in cloth ever (but plenty when we used disposable for vacation etc). She potty trained insanely easily (basically herself) at 19 months. I would LOVE a repeat of these experiences 4. Cute prints Caveat being I'm in Canada so home for a year and then only work part time. But really I didn't find it that time consuming once I got into a routine. I did diaper laundry every 3-4 days and stuffed diapers while I watched tv, no big deal

rebeccabunch cythe, danvers, and arimaythea pretty well covered it! I love using subscribe and save, for multiple things, but I love it the most for diapers. If it looks like they'll start to pile up, I just skip that month. There have been a few times when we run out a few days before the shipment is due to arrive, so I'll just grab a small package at Aldi to get us through. So far we've got 2 boxes of NB Swaddlers for baby girl, then I'll switch it to size 1 (super easy to do). I hope that answered your question, lol.

We use Pampers Swaddlers. I probably could do CD this time around being a SAHM this time around, but like rebeccabunch I'm just not all in on them and would probably hate it. A lot. We did a little foray in to generic from Aldi, and those were terrible. Maybe this time we'll switch to Target or Kirkland, but I'm also in the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" camp.

I was too lazy to manage it and we got a big thing for so cheap every other month. I ended up with so much toilet paper that after I cancelled it, I didn't need to buy any for a year. *wait, those might be paper towels. Whatever, my story is a good one so I'm leaving it lol

cythe Yes, I've just recently added the toilet paper to the list because I was so sick of forgetting to buy it on my grocery trips and then running out! Amazon S&S is life.

Can we talk wipes in here too? I just went to buy something on Amazon and discovered my subscribe auto delivery of wipes is coming next week, but the price has doubled😠. We liked the Naty by Naturecare ones because DD has a sensitive bum and they seemed to hold up the best.. pampers and huggies even the sensitive ones were too strong/chemically. Anyone have any recommendations?
