Turns out I have gestational diabetes.
Of the four blood draws, 2 of them are outside the margin by 2 points each. So a touch of diabetes I guess?
I am really upset about this...probably more so than is reasonable. Just adding to the list of "not that serious but very frustrating" things happening during this pregnancy. H is trying to be supportive and all "we will get through this it will be ok" and I want to scream at him "what is this we shit? You can eat whatever the fuck you want. You won't have to test your blood 4 times a day. No one is probing your vagina every few weeks to check on placenta placement!!!!!"
End rant.

So sorry :/ the blood sugar testing is certainly an added stressor, I'd be upset too.

Thanks ladies. I know that it's not the end of the world, it's just all these little things are making me not as excited about this pregnancy/baby as I want to be. And then I feel like a shit mom because it's not the baby's fault this is happening. Ugh ugh ugh.

I'm so sorry. It's okay to be frustrated and disappointed. It does not make you a bad mom. Feel how you need to feel!

You are definitely not a shit mom. Pregnancy is super hard. You're allowed to be upset and frustrated by it.

Aww, I know this is something you were worried about. I think shibes is dealing with it too, so maybe she has some advice?

I can always count on my mother to have a hilariously weird reaction. "no, you don't have that. You are thin and you have a salty palate"
I don't think that's how it works, Mom.

I've been MIA a few weeks with the move and I haven't checked in. PS. We made it! Closed on our house in WI on Monday. I've got a new Endo and OBGYN lined up so fx they are both decent. *waves*

bazi ugh. +1. It does suck. This is round two for me and because I had it with my first they tested super early- like 20 weeks. It blows. Have a good cry. Or a few. I def have melted down a handful of times because pregnancy is overwhelming enough by itself. I'm on diet controlled during the day then 22 units of Novalin (sp?) insulin at night because my damn fasting numbers are shit. The best thing is walking after meals. I've eaten things I've though would fuck me but walked a ton after and been fine. I've eaten things within my carb allowance and then taken a nap and been fucked on the meter. Hugs. If you DM me I can give you my email/FB/something if you want to chat more or just have a support person.

The birthing center can't accept me with my thyroid, GD, and borderline blood pressure in my previous pregnancy and I just don't have it in me for a home birth so I'm praying this works. The MD was on referral from a babywearing group I'm in from an L&D nurse at the same hospital.

Your definitely not a shitty mom for not feeling as excited. The little things add up and can be extremely frustrating. Vent however you need to.

Thanks shibes. Sorry you have to do the meds. My numbers are just a touch over "acceptable", so I am hoping some minor diet changes and a little more walking will do the trick. I'm just annoyed about yet another thing I have to juggle when it already feels like I am at capacity. How long do you walk after meals? Do you walk after snacks too? I will probably DM you more questions after my meeting with the nurse.

Ugh, I'm so sorry bazi. I have those same thoughts of feeling like a crappy mom because this pregnancy is overwhelming and turned out to be kind of poorly timed. Complain all that you want and need to.

If I stay in my carb count, even 15 mins of legit walking with a purpose keeps me under. If I eat something carb loaded or questionable (eating out is hard) then the longer walks help. For example, I ate an ice cream cone one night and if def was not in range and walked for an hour and was in range.
