I only have 4 more runs until I'm done with C25K. so naturally I installed the C210K app. SAME. I need to find a 10K race to sign up for. I just checked my app and we're def on the same day. I've got the 10K one ready to go and I'm looking for races. I wish someone was local to do them with me.

Did 2 miles this morning, legs felt dead. Hopefully they get over themselves before we go running in the mountains next week.

Ran 2 miles this morning on my treadmill. The weather has been amazing lately so I really should drag my butt outside, but my commercial grade, oversized treadmill and climate controlled basement are so much easier on my pregnant joints.

10.4k plus some (we got off course due to bad one placement) done.
Now my running bestie and I are plotting out our marathon training build up. I'm excited to start getting high mileage back.

I did 8 miles on Saturday. The heat and humidity really make me drop my pace. Ended up seeing a former co-worker on the trail right around mile 6. He cared about his pace enough to stop his watch but I let mine keep running for the two minutes we chatted. We both have the same goal time for our runs (8:30 - 9:30 pace)so we are going to try and run together in the future.
I also went for a run on Monday to try and make up for my short mileage on Saturday. I went three miles and then called it. My body was exhausted from all the pool time and drinking.
I also didn't go for my normal run this morning. Hoping I can reset this weekend. If nothing else the visit from my MIL will force me to be out on the trail as much as possible. The longer I run the less I see her.

2.5 miles with DD in the BOB this morning. Im past the point of just running with a toddler in tow so I set my watch to 3x1 minute runxwalk intervals. It felt like a perfect combo, so I'll likely keep this in my rotation as long as possible.

Seasoned runners: at what point did you decide you were healthy enough/able to run on consecutive days? I know the rule about about not running more than 10% over time or distance in a week, but at what point does that stop being a rule? @privacy, chickenonsunday,

Or if I'm training for something long distance like a half marathon, marathon, long course triathlon, whatever. Make sure if you do start running consecutive days that you're doing proper warm up and cool downs, stretching, foam rolling, recovering however you prefer. Be kind to those legs if you work them hard.

When I started my first training I used the Jeff Galloway plan. I did a 30 minute run on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I think it was a walk on Friday and a long run on Saturday. Right now I'm reading the book Heart Monitor Training For The Compleat Idiot. The author doesn't recommend over training b/c your body needs to recover. My suggestion is mix your run training with weight lifting. Allow yourself total rest days to recover. Hope that helps!

@darlene for me it happened naturally because I was in a training group for 5k then 10k then half. I think a good guide is if you feel sore the next day or not. And to vary your runs. So you're not running 3-5 every day. But one day you run short (1-2 to start) a few days 3, maybe some speed work and a long. I've been out of training while selling the house so I started off one week with 3 runs, the 4. I'm going 5 this week and 6 next. But my mileage is low. Instead of adding a mile to a run I'm adding a day. Then once I'm at 6 days I'll build mileage again.

Oh and a key for me was slowing my pace way down in training. Like slower than I thought I should be. Makes injury less likely and makes easier recovery

I do also do weight training 4 days a week along with core work twice a week. My trainer has me on a 4-day a week program, knowing that I run 3-4 days week, and she added 2 days of HIIT: 8 minutes on the giant stair climber to build my glutes. I would like to add another day of running because I've plateaued on my weight loss and running seems to be the ticket to me losing and keeping off weight. Thanks for your advice, everyone!

Today is the last day of week 6 for C25K, I am really excited that I am getting back into the running routine. I used to run all the time.

Hi there. I'm going to try to hang out here. I'm really impressed with all of you and the ass busting going on in this thread.

I've been lurking this thread the last couple of days. I posted in the general workout thread yesterday, too. Basically I seem to be really on or really off when it comes to fitness. For example I had 3.5 good months where I was running or working out 6 days a week. Then things got hectic at work and I let it all fall apart. ... and I never picked up again. 5 weeks ( and 5 lbs) later...
Reading here inspired me to get the ball rolling with running again. I'd been doing other strength/HIIT stuff for a handful of days now and this morning I did 2.4 miles. I'm hoping if I hang out in this thread I'll be motivated by all of you rockstars to keep at it! I go on vacation next week so I'm going to try to stay on the bandwagon I've barely boarded. 😬
Thanks for the inspiration ladies!

chickenonsunday let us know how your heart rate program goes. I'm almost sold. A co-worker switched to it after a diagnosis of Hasimoto's. He swears by it. He realized he can actually go harder than he thinks and it helps to keep his easy runs at an actual easy pace. He uses a heart rate strap and an app that dings him through the zones with warnings when it's not where it needs to be. I'm all for it, but don't have the gear. I probably should just get the strap, but I keep telling myself, my watch is good enough. Then again during my runs I curse the fact I'm constantly looking at my wrist instead of being mindful of my stride or just enjoying the trails. I can't keep an easy run easy. After a mile or two I always settle into the same pace lose focus of what I'm trying to do (I.e. Get lost in my head) and before I know it I'm either way to fast or way too slow.

Finished day 14! They opened up a new leg of the trail sometime in the last week. It overlooks the river and has well groomed paths. It was gorgeous early this morning.

Just started couch to 5k again this week. I made it a week or 2 in last year, but I had knee pain and quit. Trying it on a treadmill this time instead of outside.

The triathlon fomo, I has it.

Did 5miles this morning, DD joined for the last almost mile on her bicycle. Next Sunday I have a 10km trailrun, it is going to hurt but I should survive.
