all the penis talk the other day had me giggling during THIS conversation in the car this morning.
A was saying all of the following words and pausing after each one where C would then say ewwwww
penis vagina nipples booty booby poopy peepee
then start over. then i thought, if she says this stuff in school i wonder what her teachers think i teach her at home...

and as i sit here chatting with myself, i will throw out there - taylor swift won her groping case in court yesterday - that makes me happy. I was glad to hear that. It was sad how many people were saying that she was just a fame whore and using this for publicity because she actually spoke up about inappropriate unwanted touching. Dude, he sued her.

flippinchica, i agree. and to me, i don't don't care who sued who or how famous or not you are. unwanted touching is not ok. no one is entitled to whatever they want to do. i'm glad he was found guilty.

Heading to E's 2 year old well visit today! How can it be time for this already? I'm hoping the doc thinks I need something more aggressive for my poison ivy. Maybe he can either give it to me or just make a recommendation. It is really killing my excitement over our trip, which is a shame. My mom is going to take E for a little while this afternoon. I have to figure out what clothes I have for the cool weather in Iceland that will fit my big belly. I'm pretty much all in on maternity pants at this point, so I hope I have a couple of good pairs of jeans that can be reworn a bunch of times to minimize how much I need to pack. I feel like they are all skinny jeans though and I'll mostly be wearing sneakers so I might be looking like a goober. Not a fan of skinny jeans and sneakers. Although maybe my high tops would look better?!

Yeah, did you guys see that list of the top 10 things she said during the trial? (or something like that) It was great, she kept returning to put the blame on him (as she should) when the attorney tried to redirect the conversation to what she was doing.

Do we have a thread somewhere on flying with a toddler? Should I start one?

Do we have a thread somewhere on flying with a toddler? Should I start one? Snacks and electronics? Make sure you download some things she likes to watch. In flight wifi doesn't work for videos. I learned that the hard way. Can you buy some uggs (or fake ones) or similar to wear with your skinny jeans?

easternshoregirl, lots of snacks, tablet time, coloring, music, little games....any sort of distraction... honestly - i do all the above and pray a lot that the kids will behave and sleep most of the trip. our last flight home with them was a complete shit show. they lost it in line for security and never got it back. it was the worst. but again, they've also been the best kids ever flying on other flights - so it's really hit or miss in my opinion.

easternshoregirl, I always hit up the Target dollar bins before I go. Party City also has some good stuff for cheap. A mini slinky from Target can occupy a toddler for a long time. Bring snacks that take a long time to eat- a small whole apple, things with small pieces like cheerios or other dry cereal, goldfish, blueberries, box of raisins Stickers- my kids stick them all over themselves and us; I let them go to town if it keeps them busy Favorite books- Abigail has a minnie mouse seek and find book that has tons of stuff to look at on each page Any novel toy- again, this is where Target and Party City come in; doesn't necessarily have to be a traditional "toy", just anything kids might like to play with The "magic pen" books from the Target dollar bin have been great- you know those ones that have a pen that only writes on the paper but not all over everything else? My kids love those! At the end of the day, just remember, it's one trip, and if the flight is a disaster, everyone will survive and move on. After flying with my kids since they were all infants, I have zero fucks left to give about this when it comes to worrying about bothering the other passengers. That being said, I have had very few disaster flights and we've flown a lot. My kids are typically great on the plane. Even when kids are struggling, most people are pretty understanding. Have fun on your trip!

I'm just even going to attempt to catch up on the past 3 days... DD1 and I hung out all day yesterday... we didn't do much, we talked a lot, I helped her figure out some stuff that adults need to learn to do... like paying bills, vehicle registration, etc. We spent 3 hours at Chuck E Cheese with Allison. There weren't many people there since school is back in, so that was nice. Today she's tagging along with me to go look at an apartment a little over an hour away from here. This is only a one bedroom, but we're only planning to do a 6 month lease. This is one of the only places around who will do less than 6 months with out raising the time by 50%. Plus it's right on the docks, so I'm definitely okay being able to take a walk on the beach everyday... the goal is to save money.

Also related to flying, if you fly frequently it is so worth it to pay the $85 to get TSA pre-check. It's pretty quick and easy to get approved and it's good for 5 years. You don't have to take your shoes off at security, or take liquids or electronics out of your bag. You don't have to bother putting things in bins going through security. Also, only the adults need it. You can take the kids through the pre-check line with you. It's so worth it! I wish we had done it a couple years ago.

Hey ladies. We just got back from speech. And he's done!! We've spent well over a grand out of pocket that doesn't count towards insurance at all, I've driven almost an hour each way every Tuesday, and have been so filled with worry that w would continue to shut down. But it's all been worth it because my little boy likes talking now! He doesn't shut down nearly as much and I can get him to breathe and calm down and then talk to me. It's all been worth it just to see him excited when I understand him. I definitely cried from relief in the car.

Planning to go to the science center with the kids this morning. I'll be solo, so here's hoping that all 3 kids don't go running off in different directions!

Even if it doesn't count toward insurance you can still make record of it when you file your taxes. Keep allllll those receipts! (Side note: I'm not 100% if this is only a Canadian thing or not?) Also, I am so happy to see this update on W speech! Great job keeping up with it, its a big undertaking both to go to the appointments and to do all the work at home. Be proud
