P's costume was (mostly) made today because he insisted on it since I bought fabric yesterday. He is lucky it was an easy sewing project. I ended up stuffing it with plastic shopping bags because I didn't have any stuffing in the house. I still need to either find him the pumpkin hat I crocheted last year or make him the one that the pattern came with. Now let's hope he doesn't change his mind for the next two months...

I ordered the other day a kangaroo headband/tail/paws to wear for a friend's amazing annual Halloween party. It's usually adults only but since #2 will only be a few weeks old, our friend said if I was comfortable bringing a baby she'd rather have us there with a nb than not at all. I have a brown k'tan from jnu76 so I'll be a kangaroo wearing my joey. MH will probably wear something to look like an employee at our local zoo. When it's family time, L will probably be Doc McStuffins Pet Vet, one of her dress up costumes she got for Christmas. ETA I'm aware none of these are homemade. My and MH's costumes will mainly be our own clothes, but that's a stretch LOL

I got P an adorable elephant costume at TJMaxx yesterday. She loves them and tries to say elephant and its like ELEpwwwwwt.
M wants to be a ballerina. Ok. We have a million tutus. I asked her what that would look like and she said "a ballerina costume." Come on kid.
Its generally cold here so we need to make a winter ballerina or something. Halp!

I bought a whole whack of 20s stuff for my 30th birthday party, and then canceled it, so looks like I'm going to go 20s for Halloween instead!

stringy what about a long-sleeved leotard with one of these ballerina sweaters (like pic below) overtop and leg warmers? I think you could also do a warm ear-band in her head to kind of match the leg warmers. Not sure about the ballet slippers lol-- maybe she would agree to sneakers?

DS is going to be Harry Potter-- all of my dreams have come true. I just have to get him some khaki pants to go with the rest of the costume.

I was Cruella DeVille one year when we lived in Ontario. My mom found a dalmatian scarf, and I had this huge coat. Perfect for the cold weather lol

R asked to be a dog. I asked what kind and he says to dress like our dog. And says baby brother has to match. Guess I'm making them landseer Newfoundland costumes. I ordered each white pjs and will make the spots with black fleece. I also got black knit hats to add ears to. This is the dog they will sorta match:

They have some adorable dog lion costumes that are basically just a mane you put over their head. I want to get one for our pit, Kara, because she's the perfect color for it.

My M said she wants to be a ballerina too, but I'm not sure she will by next month. Weather is usually mild though-- last year she was Dora and wore shorts. If she wants to be a ballerina I'll probably add a bigger tutu to her regular leotard and maybe add a tiara.

Ok, help me out. Anyone know where I can find a yellow 4T-5T/XS jacket for this costume? R is (apparently) set on being Aviva from Wild Kratts. We have looked at so many sites and eBay and we're stumped. Looks like Columbia and Nike and NF and a few others have made similar jackets in the past, but not at this time. Anyone have one we can borrow or buy?

nikkipal that's not bad. I wish it didn't have the hood. MH ended up finally coming across a Columbia half-zip that's pretty close, but with gray sleeves. I might have to keep that primary hoodie as the backup and just tuck the hood in if needed.
