Leaf 🌱 Does the hospital you'll deliver at have a photographer? I know when I had DD they had someone that went around and did some newborn pictures. If they do, maybe that might be an option?

Ok, the instant pot picture that pops up for the thread is making me nauseous. Wtf... For this thread? 😦 I usually keep up with the instant pot thread from general discussions, but too often now I can't stomach that conversation.

it's been a busy week here. h went back to work tuesday, so it's back to reality for me and dd. at least we are back near family, so lots of opportunities to hang out with my mom and aunt when she is a bit much to handle. we went to the state fair monday and then again tuesday (because i didn't know what to do all day alone with dd, so why not). i definitely over indulged! can't wait for weigh-in today at my appointment. my other sil had her baby a few days early on monday, a boy! i am in newborn snuggle heaven here😀
off to catch up on threads!

I am so tired. Between my being nauseous and sick, and DD who didn't sleep and ended up vomiting in the middle of the night sleep didn't really happen. Guess I'm calling the dr today.

Is anyone getting an NT scan? Our insurance covers it, so we always elect to do it. My OB humors my need for all the non-invasive tests. I'm AMA (you know, too old to have babies or whatever they say) so I get it all. Also, after so many losses, and even though I've gone on to have 3 full term pregnancies resulting in healthy babies, I really love have these ultrasounds to calm my nerves. I'll be getting the Harmond/Materni21, etc., as well, and I'll do the AFP (i think that's the name). I won't do a CVS or Amnio though - the risk is too high for loss. I'll likely see a MFM as well, so after my NT (around 12 weeks), I'll be getting routine ultrasounds every 6 weeks until my third trimester, then every 3-4 until I'm 38 weeks.

Do we need a weekly appointment check in thread? Or monthly? Thoughts? I think most of us are getting ready to have our first appointments, and some are already done with their second... just a thought!

I'm not getting the NT, or rather, I haven't before. Anyone wanna talk me into it?

ovenrack For me it's about piece of mind. I want to know if there is a possibility of complications or if baby might be facing any hurdles in life that we would be able to better prepare for if we knew ahead of time. I really liked having it done last time (it was just an ultrasound and blood draw so nothing invasive). It's a personal choice and not everyone opts for it but for me it's about being prepared to care for baby in the best way I can. If that makes sense.

yianna ,i think a weekly appointment check in is a good idea at this point! ovenrack , yes any type of nipt is all about piece of mind for me too. i know for some, knowing more doesn't change anything, but i like to have all the information. the nt specifically wasn't offered to me when i was pregnant the first time around, but i had quad screening done. i'm actually not having the nt this time because i am paying out of pocket for everything until oct 1 and the harmony is much cheaper if you don't have insurance. does your insurance cover any sort of screening? does your provider offer any screening? eta: even though i know the harmony is a more accurate test i'm actually upset i won't get the nt because i want to see this baby before the 20 week scan.

I think most of us are getting ready to have our first appointments, and some are already done with their second... just a thought! I don't know if we need a separate thread for it? In the HDBD posts we talk about appointments? It may be a bit redundant. Or if we're going to start all posting bump pics on HDBD (Which I'm all for), we can have a separate check-in thread once a week with the questions.

Rama sorry about the bleeding. I know how nerve wracking that can be - I had 3 losses before my first take home - and basically bled from 6w until 16w. I had a SCH. With my third, I started bleeding at 7w, and had another SCH. That was resolved way faster, but it sucked.

DD apparently has a sinus infection that is turning into an ear infection. I really hope she feels better soon.

I got the NT done, not that we were actually able to get the right measurement which meant that we didn't even bother with the blood test. Grrr. We did not get any of the bloodwork that was offered to us because it was prohibitively expensive. So we have no info and I won't get to see baby again til AS. So frustrating. I am really hoping to get dopplered or that they will use the little handheld US on me at my next appt on the 14th because I am not sure I can wait that long without any reassurances.

Thank you:) I have no one else to talk to so you guys are stuck with me. I was worried that my situation would make me feel differently about being on here but it genuinely just made me want things to go perfectly for the rest of you guys even more. I love seeing everyone's good news and passing milestones. I know that it's all about chromosomes and nothing I can control so while I'm trying to wrap my head around my situation it just makes me happier to see that others are doing so well...if that makes sense. Even if things don't turn out for me I'll probably still be lurking and posting from time to time on here to support all of you;)

I'm always worried I'm not doing enough or else I'm over reacting. It's just the two of us until our house is done and we're back living with SO so I always freak out when she starts throwing up or spikes a fever in the middle of the night. I hate being alone with her because I always second guess myself too. Then again SO is just a big baby and always makes things worse by freaking out a million times more than is necessary when DD gets sick...so maybe I should be savouring these last few months before we move.
